A peasant girl is adopted by a wealthy elderly woman after her mother’s death. She grows up vain. She tricks her adoptive mother into buying a pair of red shoes and repeatedly wears them to church, without paying attention to the service. Her adoptive mother becomes ill, but the peasant girl deserts her, preferring to attend a party in her red shoes, where she celebrates by showing them off…. But the shoes had a different idea….

A ballet shoe, or ballet slipper, is a lightweight shoe designed specifically for ballet dancing. It may be made from soft leather, canvas, or satin, and have flexible, thin soles. Traditionally, women wear pink shoes and men wear white or black shoes. Tan colored slippers—which are unobtrusive and thus give the appearance of dancing barefoot—are worn in modern ballets and sometimes modern dancing by both men and women.
All ballet dancers wear soft ballet slippers for the main part of the ballet class. More advanced female dancers may change into pointe shoes for centre work and performance.
Ballet shoes must fit very closely to the foot, for safety and to retain maximum flexibility.
Ballet shoes traditionally have a leather sole which does not reach all the way to the edges of the shoe. A modern development is the split sole, which provides greater flexibility. They are usually made from soft leather, canvas or satin. Leather shoes are long-lasting. Canvas shoes are less expensive but wear faster than average leather ballet shoes. Satin shoes are worn only for performance as they wear out very quickly.

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson (born 15 April 1990) is an English actress and model.
Watson rose to prominence playing Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. Watson was cast as Hermione at the age of nine, having previously acted only in school plays. From 2001 to 2011, she starred in all eight Harry Potter films alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint. Watson's work on the Harry Potter series has earned her several awards and more than £10 million. She made her modelling debut for Burberry's Autumn/Winter campaign in 2009.
In 2007, Watson announced her involvement in two productions: the television adaptation of the novel Ballet Shoes and an animated film, The Tale of Despereaux. Ballet Shoes was broadcast on 26 December 2007 to an audience of 5.2 million, and The Tale of Despereaux, based on the novel by Kate DiCamillo, was released in 2008 and grossed over US $86 million in worldwide sales.
Emma Watson was born in Paris to Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both British lawyers. Watson has one French grandmother, and lived in Paris until the age of five. Following her parents' divorce, she moved with her mother and younger brother to Oxfordshire.

David Bowie (
/ˈboʊ.i/ BOH-ee; born David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947) is an English musician, actor, record producer and arranger. A major figure for over four decades in the world of popular music, Bowie is widely regarded as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. Pauline (Watson), Petrova (Yasmin Paige) and Posy Fossil (Lucy Boynton) are adopted as infants by eccentric explorer Professor Matthew Brown (Richard Griffiths), whom they affectionately call Great Uncle Matthew (or "Gum" for short). When "Gum" goes missing, his niece Sylvia (Emilia Fox) keeps the family together by taking in lodgers and eventually enrolls the girls in the Children's Academy of Dancing and Stage Training. A peasant girl is adopted by a wealthy elderly woman after her mother’s death. She grows up vain. She tricks her adoptive mother into buying a pair of red shoes and repeatedly wears them to church, without paying attention to the service. Her adoptive mother becomes ill, but the peasant girl deserts her, preferring to attend a party in her red shoes, where she celebrates by showing them off…. But the shoes had a different idea….

Containing a story within a story, Powell and Pressburger's The Red Shoes parallels the ambitions of a young ballerina with the narrative of the ballet she is performing (also called The Red Shoes based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairytale). Shown in one of the most stunning sequences in cinematic history, the ballet within the film features a young woman purchasing a pair of gleaming red ballet slippers that start her off on a beautiful dance but are ultimately destructive. The dancer, Victoria Page (played by Moira Shearer), also her own demons to confront; does she continue with the passion for her art or cease altogether for the love of a man? In both instances, there is only one way it can end.

Incorporating a risky material like ballet as the core subject matter and rumored to have gone way over budget, The Red Shoes was met with little fanfare until it debuted in New York and was distributed by Universal. After that, the British audiences got on board and it became one of the highest grossing films in UK history. And with good reason, it's an artwork unto itself. Painfully beautiful and larger than life, The Red Shoes is a sincere representation of the difficulties one faces when melding art and life together. Pure magic.

When they are invited to join Madame Fidolia’s Academy of Performing Arts, Petrova, who would rather tinker with engines than learn to dance, tries to hide her unhappiness. Life at the academy is full of ups and downs and we see the different paths the children take. Pauline grows into an acting star and quite the prima donna; Posy is taken under the wing of a wonderful ballet teacher and rather unexpectedly Petrova embarks on an adventure with her Great Uncle Matthew.

Helen Harris (Kate Hudson) is very successful in the fashion industry and has a nice Manhattan lifestyle which keeps her extremely occupied and content. Helen's world suddenly changes when her sister Lindsay (Felicity Huffman) and brother-in-law Paul (Sean O'Bryan) die in a car accident.
Helen and her other sister Jenny (Joan Cusack) are in shock when they hear Lindsay & Paul left Helen in charge of their three kids: 15-year-old Audrey (Hayden Panettiere), 10-year-old Henry (Spencer Breslin), and five-year-old Sarah (Abigail Breslin). Convinced she can raise the kids and maintain her already fast-paced schedule, Helen quickly finds herself burnt out and disheartened by her responsibilities and Jenny's lack of faith.
Despite her already hectic schedule, Helen finds the time to develop a genuine affection for her new dependents, as well as an equally genuine attraction to Dan Parker (John Corbett), the kids' school principal and local Lutheran pastor. Eventually, Helen realizes she can't balance the two lives, and is faced with a difficult decision, her fashion career or her nieces and nephew.

10.the dance number from curly top-1935 when Shirley Temple dances on-top of a piano to the song curly top at any point Shirley tap dances on-top of a piano it's going to be in this list!!! I admire this dance very much as Shirley was scared to tap dance on the piano as she thought she would fall off so my hat off to her and it's very cute too!
9.the dance number from Just around the corner-1938 with bill Robinson the song this is a happy little ditty this is my favorite dance number in just around the corner it's very cute and anytime bill and Shirley dance together it's just magical
8.the dance number from the littlest rebel with of course bill Robinson this is just adorable!
7.the dance number from Rebbecca of sunnybrook farm the toy trumpet with again the one and only bill Robinson a very lovely fast paced dance
6.the dance number from little miss Broadway "little miss Broadway" with George Murphy he is a very underrated tap dancer and George and Shirley work very well together I kept going back and forth between we should be together and little miss Broadway but I thought little miss Broadway was the better choice but it was super tough and can we talk about the dress oh my goodness! that dress is gorgeous!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
5.the dance number from baby take a bow on accounta I love you Shirley dances with my favorite co-star James Dunn I could watch them till the end of time lol everything about this dance number shouts cute! the tutu is so beautiful! what amazes me most is Shirley's ability to tap dance extremely well take instruction just everything!
4.the dance number from Captain January at the codfish ball I cannot say how much I love this dance and what's absolutely fantastic about this dance it only took 1 hour for Shirley to learn!!!! which is just mind blowing! and when you see them dancing it's them dancing for the first time they had no rehearsals together which is why the dance looks so natural and why I love it so much!
3.the dance number from stand up and cheer! daddy take a bow this was Shirley's debut and probably one of Shirley's most iconic dance numbers with the famous red polka dot dress again amazing Shirley only had a few days to learn the dance as Shirley didn't come on the film till they were half way during filming she is just too adorable for words!
2.the dance number from the little colonel the staircase dance the most iconic dance number why is it not number 1!?!?!??! you'll find out this dance number made history! it was Shirley's and bill's debut together and it's wonderful! :)
1.the dance number from poor little rich girl military man you are probably wondering why on earth this dance is at number one this is the most complicated dance number Shirley did! it took Shirley 1 week to learn it's extremely fast paced Shirley struggled with the number and I don't blame her!!! Shirley danced with Alice Faye and Jack Haley it took a long time for the dance to be recorded as mistakes kept being made as all 3 had to be insync with each other every time I see this dance it amazes me how a little child could learn this dance so quickly and perform it will adults
