The Nintendo Entertainment System (also abbreviated as NES) is an 8-bit home video game console that was developed and manufactured by Nintendo. It was initially released in Japan as the Family Computer (Japanese: ファミリーコンピュータ, Hepburn: Famirī Konpyūta) (also known by the portmanteau abbreviation Famicom (ファミコン, Famikon) and abbreviated as FC) on July 15, 1983, and was later released in North America during 1985, in Europe during 1986, and Australia in 1987. In South Korea, it was known as the Hyundai Comboy (현대 컴보이 Hyeondae Keomboi) and was distributed by SK Hynix which then was known as Hyundai Electronics. It was succeeded by the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
The best-selling gaming console of its time, the NES helped revitalize the US video game industry following the video game crash of 1983. With the NES, Nintendo introduced a now-standard business model of licensing third-party developers, authorizing them to produce and distribute titles for Nintendo's platform.
Classic Game Room (commonly abbreviated CGR) is a video game review show produced, directed, edited and hosted by Mark Bussler (b. 1975) of Inecom, LLC. The show reviews both retro and modern video games along with gaming accessories, pinball machines, and minutiae such as gaming mousepads and food products. The show broadcast its reviews via video-sharing website YouTube under the screen name 'Lord Karnage' until late 2013, when they moved to Dailymotion, citing issues with YouTube. On May 8, 2014, via the Classic Game Room's Facebook Page and YouTube channel, it was announced that the show would again be posting episodes on YouTube. Usage of their own website, which has its own rating and comments system, is encouraged.
Originally titled The Game Room and presented by Mark Bussler and David Crosson, it was the first professional video game review show on the internet. Founded by Bussler, it launched on November 7, 1999 on the internet startup website FromUSAlive.
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System (officially abbreviated the Super NES or SNES, and commonly shortened to Super Nintendo) is a 16-bit home video game console developed by Nintendo that was released in 1990 in Japan, 1991 in North America, 1992 in Europe and Australasia (Oceania), and 1993 in South America. In Japan, the system is called the Super Famicom (Japanese: スーパーファミコン, Hepburn: Sūpā Famikon, officially adopting the abbreviated name of its predecessor, the Family Computer), or SFC for short. In South Korea, it is known as the Super Comboy (슈퍼 컴보이 Syupeo Keomboi) and was distributed by Hyundai Electronics. Although each version is essentially the same, several forms of regional lockout prevent the different versions from being compatible with one another. It was released in Brazil on September 2, 1992, by Playtronic.
The SNES is Nintendo's second home console, following the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The console introduced advanced graphics and sound capabilities compared with other consoles at the time. Additionally, development of a variety of enhancement chips (which were integrated on game circuit boards) helped to keep it competitive in the marketplace.
The Family Computer Disk System (Japanese: ファミリーコンピュータ ディスクシステム, Hepburn: Famirī Konpyūta Disuku Shisutemu), sometimes called the Famicom Disk System (ファミコンディスクシステム, Famikon Disuku Shisutemu), the Disk System (ディスクシステム, Disuku Shisutemu), the FDS and the FCD, was released on February 21, 1986 by Nintendo as a peripheral for the Family Computer video game console in Japan. It uses proprietary floppy disks, called "Disk Cards", for data storage. It was announced, but not released, for the North American/PAL Nintendo Entertainment System. Through its entire production span, 1986 (1986)–2003 (2003), 4.44 million units were sold.
The device is connected to the Famicom deck by plugging a special cartridge known as the RAM Adapter into the system's cartridge port, and attaching that cartridge's cable to the disk drive. The RAM adapter contains 32 kilobytes (KB) of RAM for temporary program storage, 8 KB of RAM for tile and sprite data storage, and an ASIC known as the 2C33. The ASIC acts as a disk controller for the floppy drive, and also includes additional sound hardware featuring a single-cycle wavetable-lookup synthesizer. Finally, embedded in the 2C33 is an 8KB BIOS ROM. The Disk Cards used are double-sided, with a total capacity of 112 KB per disk. Many games span both sides of a disk, requiring the user to switch sides at some point during gameplay. A few games use two full disks, totaling four sides. The Disk System is capable of running on six C-cell batteries or the supplied AC adapter. Batteries usually last five months with daily game play. The battery option is due to the likelihood of a standard set of AC plugs already being occupied by a Famicom and a television.

Thank you http://www.Colorware.com for working with me to make this stunning Switchable theme! And thank you to all who voted on my website to also make this possible! Colors are Diamond White, Candy Apple Red, Gold Rush (all metallic finish)
The Family Computer or Famicom was Nintendo's first cartridge based home console. It had the same capabilities of the Nintendo Entertainment System only in a smaller, and more Asian package.
I AM SO EXCITED TO OWN THIS THING! I was able to score a lot that included both a Famicom modem and a Super Famicom modem. They're really interesting pieces of hardware but it's no big surprise that Nintendo didn't take them outside of Japan. Today I also discovered I mispronounce the word peripheral all the time. I promise I'm not always stupid.
