Choi Jun-hee (Hangul:최준희, also known as Juniel, born on September 3, 1993) is a Korean singer-songwriter. She began her career in Japan before starting her career in Korea. She was first known as Juniee but later on changed her stage name to Juniel.
Choi Jun-hee was born in Korea. She is the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Choi, and has a younger brother. As a schoolchild, she started dance since she wanted to be like BoA. However, she stopped the dance soon because she didn’t have a talent as a dancer. She started guitar in the third-year of junior high school. She started listening to Ringo Shiina and Avril Lavigne and began to write music. Since dance music is mainstream in Korea, there are not many musicians singing with musical instruments like the guitar. Then Juniel decided to go Japan in June 2010 to study more about music because there were many singer-songwriters. She had her guitar lessons in FNC Academy together with F.T Island's Choi Jonghun/jonghoon & CNBLUE's Jonghyun. She did not intend to become a singer in Japan but intended to learn music at first. While going to the Japanese school, she appeared on many live events in Tokyo, and she performed many street live. After releasing two CD from the indie label, she made her major debut with the single "Forever" in November 2, 2011. On February 15, 2012, she released 2nd single “Sakura ~todokanu omoi~”. She released the title track 'Stupid' (Featuring CN Blue's Jung Yonghwa) for her first mini album in Korea, 'My First June' on May 22, 2012.
