In the World War II years, when young men and women died in faraway places, and the congregation mourned… Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. In the 1950s years, when the pews were filled and late comers were too late…. Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. In the sixties and seventies, when the winds of change blew strong and hard….. Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. In the 1980s, the years of controversy and division… Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. In these present years, with all their challenges and possibilities… Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. In all the years to come, whatever comes…. Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. *General William Booth was the founder of the Salvation Army and a former Methodist lay preacher.
