Tube Amp Tone Talk - (discussion starts around 2:00 mark) Aspen Pittman - Everyone associated with tube amps was saddened to hear about the tragic death of Aspen Pittman - he was a true innovator and Groove Tubes businessman who revolutionized the tube amp industry. In this Tone Talk, Bob Gjika discusses his contributions, The Tube Amp Book (and shows his copy that is falling apart from use). Tube amp builders will enjoy Bob's explanation about the tubes that make amps shine (or fail to shine, as the case may be). Both Bob and Ken Fischer used Aspen's "groove tubes" in their amps, as well as many other amp builders.
What did Aspen Pittman do that was so important? Besides writing the greatest amp book ever (with Ken Fischer, another of Bob's friends/associates) he also made it possible to easily obtain matched sets of tubes for building and retubing amps. This cannot be overemphasized. Before Aspen started doing this, amp techs had a much harder job. Also, he imported many British amplifiers, etc. Bob also discusses some finer points of amp building, repair, some tube secrets, and tells a few stories...Ken Fischer of Trainwreck Circuits Amps also helped Aspen Pittman with schematics in the Tube Amp Book, btw.

And right now, the global economy is doing fine. We have seen some downside wiggles that have frightened investors, but important economic indicators like global loan growth and money supply growth suggest there’s still a lot of excess stimulus that can keep the globe growing.
Plus 2019 is the third year of the US presidential term. Why is this important? Historically the third year of a president’s term has been a sweet spot for stocks, and it overlaps another market phenomenon of overall positive returns in the nine months following US midterm elections.

Trainwreck Circuits
Trainwreck Circuits was an American company that manufactured boutique guitar amplifiers. They were handmade by Ken Fischer (May 12, 1945 – December 23, 2006) in Colonia, New Jersey, and are some of the most expensive and sought-after amplifiers on the market.
History
Fischer began working on electronics in the US Navy, and then repaired TVs and radios, and then got a job building amplifiers at Ampeg, where he became senior engineer. Disillusioned, he left in 1967 when the company was being sold to Magnavox.
When he set out on his own, he started building boutique amplifiers with "custom wood cabinets, configurations and secretly built transformers" for clients such as Mark Knopfler and Eddie Van Halen. He made the first Trainwreck amp in his shop in New Jersey, in late 1982/early 1983. With inspiration from Atlantic Records Caspar McCloud the amp was named 'Ginger' after Caspar's wife. His first amps (later named "Liverpool 30") were based on the 4 x EL84 configuration of the Vox AC30. "In beautiful wood cabinetry that matched their legendary sound," They were made to order in limited numbers, and are "ultra-rare and highly collectible". Lacking serial numbers, they are individually designated with women's names; the one owned by guitarist and producer Matte Henderson is called "Nancy". The last one he built ("Kaylene"), while suffering from chronic fatigue immune dysfunction, was an Express made from an old leftover chassis.

When looking ahead to figure out what stock markets may do next year, we have two major points to consider: what’s going on in the world right now and history. While markets have been choppy recently, history tells us strength can follow.
And right now, the global economy is doing fine. We have seen some downside wiggles that have frightened investors, but important economic indicators like global loan growth and money supply growth suggest there’s still a lot of excess stimulus that can keep the globe growing.
Plus 2019 is the third year of the US presidential term. Why is this important? Historically the third year of a president’s term has been a sweet spot for stocks, and it overlaps another market phenomenon of overall positive returns in the nine months following US midterm elections.

Trainwreck Circuits
Trainwreck Circuits was an American company that manufactured boutique guitar amplifiers. They were handmade by Ken Fischer (May 12, 1945 – December 23, 2006) in Colonia, New Jersey, and are some of the most expensive and sought-after amplifiers on the market.
History
Fischer began working on electronics in the US Navy, and then repaired TVs and radios, and then got a job building amplifiers at Ampeg, where he became senior engineer. Disillusioned, he left in 1967 when the company was being sold to Magnavox.
When he set out on his own, he started building boutique amplifiers with "custom wood cabinets, configurations and secretly built transformers" for clients such as Mark Knopfler and Eddie Van Halen. He made the first Trainwreck amp in his shop in New Jersey, in late 1982/early 1983. With inspiration from Atlantic Records Caspar McCloud the amp was named 'Ginger' after Caspar's wife. His first amps (later named "Liverpool 30") were based on the 4 x EL84 configuration of the Vox AC30. "In beautiful wood cabinetry that matched their legendary sound," They were made to order in limited numbers, and are "ultra-rare and highly collectible". Lacking serial numbers, they are individually designated with women's names; the one owned by guitarist and producer Matte Henderson is called "Nancy". The last one he built ("Kaylene"), while suffering from chronic fatigue immune dysfunction, was an Express made from an old leftover chassis.
