Six Scientists

Here's a couple of bits of artwork from a strip I'm working on about the fossil hunter, Mary Anning. Part of a book I'm working on called Six Scientists.

Edinburgh International Book Festival and Bell Burnell

My Edinburgh International Book Festival experience was excellent. I really enjoyed it. Very good turn out at my and Karine Marcal’s joint event. A blazingly hot day too.
The private talk I did for festival sponsors, investment management partnership Baillie Gifford, also went well. I was worried about doing this talk, because my work has been so critical of the financial industry. I thought it might be a hostile crowd, but they were all perfectly nice. I was actually picked up at the hotel by a taxi and driven to their flash Edinburgh HQ - a very imposing glass edifice with a striking view across the Firth of Forth.

Here's are three pages from a story about the astronomer Jocelyn Bell Burnell. This strip is a chapter of a book I'm working on about scientists. I'll be covering a number of people, among who are Fred Hoyle, and Antoine Lavoisier. Others I've yet to decide on. Feel free to make suggestions.

The Marvel Sketchbook

Way back in the mid-90s I compiled a Marvel Sketchbook, in which, I asked cartoonists I knew to draw a
Marvel character. I haven’t seen a copy of this for years, but recently Paul Hatcher (who printed these up for me originally) sent me one.

I'll be posting lots of these, but to begin with here's Jonathan Edwards' version of Iron Man, Ralph Kidson's drawing of the Thing, Phil Elliott's Hulk vs Thing, and my version of Galactus.
