Korean-American Michelle Park Steel has won her race for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Republican defeated first-term Democrat Harley Rouda in California's 48th Congressional District on Tuesday, .. receiving nearly 51 percent of the votes.
Steel joins Washington state's Marilyn Strickland as the first Korean-American women elected to Congress in its 230-year history.
Along with Congressman Andy Kim, ...there will be three Korean-Americans in the House come January.
And that could become four if Korean-American Republican Young Kim holds onto her lead in California's 39th District.

Also in the U.S. election... another Korean-American has won a seat in the House of Representatives.
That's Republican Michelle Park Steel, who got around 51 percent of the vote to unseat first-term Democrat Harley Rouda.
She will represent the 48th district of California, which is based in Orange County.
She's not the only Korean-American to be newly elected to Congress this term.
Democrat Marilyn Strickland beat out a fellow Democrat will represent the 10th district of the state of Washington, which includes the state capital Olympia.
Strickland herself noted that her win is historic in many ways.
"I'm the first Korean-American woman elected to Congress in U.S. history as well as the first African-American member of the Washington state delegation."
