The name Hadramout is an ancient name referring to the region and the tribe . It had received mention in the Holy Bible . According to Genealogists it was named Hadhramout after it was a home for Amir"prince" Bin Qahtan, who was told that once he attended a war he multiplied slaughtering and thus used to say that if he attends then Death attends with him. The Nabateans constructed it as their capital city around 100 BCE The Nabataeans are of Arab origin who became rich by their monopoly on the trade of incense and spices in particular between the East and the Roman, Greek and Egyptian empires The site remained unknown to the Western world until 1812, when it was discovered by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. It was famously described as "a rose-red city half as old as time" in a Newdigate prize-winning sonnet by John William Burgon. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage." In 1985, Petra was designated a World Heritage Site. It is one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World" as determined by the New Open World Corporation . -Madain Saleh " Hegra or AL-Hijr" location: Saudi Arabia Mada'in Saleh is an ancient city located in northern Hejaz .In ancient times the city was inhabited by many arabian tribes like Thamudis , Lihians and Nabateans ,and was part of the Lihian,Dedan,Nabateans civlizations ,the city is also known as Hegra. Some of the inscriptions found in the area date back to the 2nd millennium BC. However, all the remaining architectural elements are dated to the period of the Thamudi and Lihyan, civilizations, between the 1st millennium BC and the second century AD. In 2008, UNESCO proclaimed Mada'in Saleh as a site of patrimony. The site includes 131 tombs, a siq, walls, towers, water conduits, and cisterns. Many of the tombs have inscriptions.
