Edward George "Ned" Sherrin, CBE (18 February 1931 – 1 October 2007) was an English broadcaster, author and stage director. He qualified as a barrister and then worked in independent television before joining the BBC. He appeared in a variety of radio and television satirical shows and theatre shows, some of which he also directed.
The son of Thomas Adam Sherrin, a farmer, and his wife, Dorothy Finch Drewett, Sherrin was born at Low Ham on the Somerset Levels.
He was educated at Sexey's School, in Bruton, Somerset, and rendered his national service in the Royal Signals, being commissioned as an officer in 1950.
Although he read law at Exeter College, Oxford, and subsequently qualified as a barrister, he became involved in theatre at Oxford and joined British television at the founding of independent television in 1956, producing shows for ATV in Birmingham.
Sherrin joined the BBC in 1957 as a temporary production assistant, then began working for them as a producer in "Television Talks" in 1963. Specialising in satirical shows, he worked extensively in film production and television.
Emma Vallencey Freud OBE (born 25 January 1962) is an English broadcaster and cultural commentator.
Emma Freud was born in London on 25 January 1962 and is the daughter of politician and broadcaster Sir Clement Freud and June Flewett, known as the actress Jill Freud. She is the great-granddaughter of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. Her younger brother is Matthew Freud, the ex-husband of Rupert Murdoch's daughter Elisabeth Murdoch. Painter Lucian Freud was her uncle.
Freud was educated in London at the all-female Queen's College school and is an alumna of Royal Holloway College.
On television, she initially worked on cable television programmes for children, before co-presenting LWT's The Six O'Clock Show from 1986. In 1987, she co-hosted TVS's travel quiz for children, Worldwise. Later that year, she briefly earned a certain media notoriety for presenting a chat show, Pillow Talk, in which she interviewed guests whilst in bed with them, as part of LWT's late-night strand Night Network. In one episode, she interviewed Jeffrey Archer whilst he was seemingly completely naked although both later confessed that he did in fact have Y-Fronts on.

With Timothy West as Sir Thomas Beecham and Terry Wale as everyone else. Music performed by the Halle Orchestra.
Ian Hislop, newly installed editor of Private Eye and TW3 producer Ned Sherrin discuss satire with Joan Bakewell. This was from a special week of editions of the sixties discussion show Late Night Line Up, revived in 1986 to celebrate fifty years of television in the United Kingdom.
From an edition of BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends in 1990. Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry perform the introduction to the first collection of their Fry & Laurie scripts, and then head off on various flights of fancy as they are interviewed by Ned Sherrin. Wireless reception was rather poor that day and so there is a small break in the audio shortly past the 5:00 mark. Copyright Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and the BBC.
