Studio Ghibli, Inc. (株式会社スタジオジブリ, Kabushiki-gaisha Sutajio Jiburi) is a Japanese animation film studio based in Koganei, Tokyo, Japan. The studio is best known for its anime feature films, and has also produced several short films, television commercials, and one television film. It was founded in June 1985 after the success of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), with funding by Tokuma Shoten.
Eight of Studio Ghibli's films are among the 15 highest-grossing anime films made in Japan, with Spirited Away (2001) being the highest, grossing over US$290 million worldwide. Many of their works have won the Animage Anime Grand Prix award, and four have won the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year. Five of Studio Ghibli's films received Academy Award nominations in the United States. Spirited Away won a Golden Bear in 2002 and an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film in 2003.
On August 3, 2014, Studio Ghibli announced it was temporarily halting production following the retirement of director Hayao Miyazaki.
Hayao Miyazaki (宮崎 駿, Miyazaki Hayao, born January 5, 1941) is a Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, author, and manga artist. Through a career that has spanned five decades, Miyazaki has attained international acclaim as a masterful storyteller and as a maker of anime feature films and, along with Isao Takahata, co-founded Studio Ghibli, a film and animation studio. The success of Miyazaki's films has invited comparisons with American animator Walt Disney, and American directors Steven Spielberg and Orson Welles.
Born in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Miyazaki began his animation career in 1963, when he joined Toei Animation. From there, Miyazaki worked as an in-between artist for Gulliver's Travels Beyond the Moon, where he pitched ideas that eventually became the movie's ending. He continued to work in various roles in the animation industry until he directed his first feature film, Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro, released in 1979. After the success of his next film, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), he co-founded Studio Ghibli, where he continued to produce many feature films. While Miyazaki's films have long enjoyed both commercial and critical success in Japan, he remained largely unknown to the West until Miramax Films released Princess Mononoke (1997). Princess Mononoke was briefly the highest-grossing film in Japan until it was eclipsed by another 1997 film, Titanic, and it became the first animated film to win Picture of the Year at the Japanese Academy Awards. Miyazaki's next film, Spirited Away (2001), topped Titanic’s sales at the Japanese box office, won Picture of the Year at the Japanese Academy Awards, and was the first anime film to win an American Academy Award.

Kiki's Delivery Service (Japanese: 魔女の宅急便, Hepburn: Majo no Takkyūbin, "Witch's Delivery Service") is a 1989 Japanese animated fantasy film produced by Studio Ghibli. It was written, produced and directed by Hayao Miyazaki as an adaptation of the 1985 novel of the same name by Eiko Kadono. The film tells the story of a young witch, Kiki, who moves to a new town and uses her flying ability to earn a living. According to Miyazaki, the movie portrays the gulf between independence and reliance in teenage Japanese girls.
Kiki's Delivery Service was released in Japan on July 29, 1989, and won the Animage Anime Grand Prix prize. It was the first Studio Ghibli film released under the distribution partnership between The Walt Disney Company and Studio Ghibli;Walt Disney Pictures recorded an English dub in 1997, which premiered in United States theaters at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 23, 1998. The film was released on home video in the U.S. and Canada on September 1, 1998.

Plot: As do most of the various KAMEN (MASKED) RIDER television series, RIDER ZO concerns itself with a human being who is transformed into a cyborg hero and subsequently challenges a ruthless and powerful menace (frequently an alien organization using a series of bizarre creatures to enforce their will) which rises to threaten the Earth. The transition into a Rider is frequently the result of the evil entities' attempts at creating an unbeatable warrior, though in some of the previous projects, some riders have acted to create other Riders, and at least one individual deliberately became a Rider in order to exact revenge. In this case, the selected human is researcher Asou Masaru. Slightly unbalanced scientist Dr. Mochizuki is experimenting on the creation of a mysterious and vaguely threatening organism. Along the way, he pauses to create a human/locust cyborg. Alarmed at his new form, ZO retreats to a nearby forest and hides away. In the meantime, Dr. Mochizuki has finished his work and the organism is set loose on an unprepared world. ZO returns to defend the deranged scientist's young son and the world in a series of battles.

This is a brief analysis of animator filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki. In this video I said that Stanley Kubrick's interview was in the 60's but it was actually in 1958, just to clarify. We made it to Miyazaki thanks to https://www.odigo.travel ! More travel videos on Odigo: https://goo.gl/IETw90 Miyazaki is easily the most beautiful prefecture we've been to so far, and it didn't make it in this video but it's also the prefecture that founded chicken nanban, THE BEST JAPANESE FOOD DISH EVER. Miyazaki is said to produce the best chicken in Japan (which my tastebuds can confirm) because their chickens are free-ranging and healthy. Chicken nanban in Miyazaki is a 10000% ABSOLUTE MUST if you can eat chicken. The places we went in this video are Takachiho Gorge, Aya Teruha suspension bridge, and Udo Jingu. There's so much nature to explore, and because Miyazaki is so far out of the way there aren't as many tourists here as there are in most places in Honshu so you can still g...
audible color is an audio-visual instrument. Sound is generated based on color detected by a camera. Red, green and blue correspond with certain music notes. When the colors are mixed, the resulting secondary colors produce different notes. The size of the colors influences the volume and frequency of the notes played. Color detection and sound generation were created and are controlled using Processing code. How much of a language is silent? What does it look like when you take the silence out? Can we use Processing code as a tool to answer these questions? silenc is a tangible visualization of an interpretation of silent letters within Danish, English and French. One of the hardest parts about language learning is pronunciation; the less phonetic the alphabet, the harder it is to correctly say the words. A common peculiarity amongst many Western languages is the silent letter. A silent letter is a letter that appears in a particular word, but does not correspond to any sound in the word’s pronunciation. A selection of works by Hans Christian Andersen is used as a common denominator for these “translations”. All silent letters are set in red text. When viewed with a red light filter, these ...

Algorhythm(**) is an alternative word formation by Shintaro Miyazaki, which combined the words ALGORITHM and RHYTHM. An algorithm is a finite sequence of step-by-step instructions, a procedure for solving a problem, often used in computers as programms or in everyday life as cooking recipes. Rhythm on the otherside is defined since the ancient greek philosopher Plato as a time based order of movement. Everybody knows the rhythm of his heart or enjoys music. WTPh? (What the Phonics) is an interactive installation. Street names in Denmark are quite challenging for foreigners to pronounce, so we did a little intervention in the touristic areas of Copenhagen. We recorded a Dane pronouncing the street names then split up each syllable; lights are placed above the matching syllable so that in real-time, you can see which part of the word is being spoken. When participants lift the speaker off the wall, it starts playing. We used Max/MSP and Arduino to build the installation. I never want to be
I never want to be like you
I wanna be myself
But you make me out to be somebody else
And I live in pain
And I love the darkness of my mind
Cos it makes me feel
You know it makes me feel like I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
Far across the land
Yeah far across the land
They understand, they understand the lies
But nobody here want to question why
It's not what I need
But if I cut myself I'm bound to bleed
I don't want to die
But it makes me feel like alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
Don't make the same mistake
Don't make cessation, no
I'm sick of being the crowd
I'm sick of being the crowd
It's up to me
I'm not gonna crack
But the demons inside
Keep on coming back
I've got to fight the fear
I've got to know that how I feel is real
I've got to speak my mind
Cos it makes me feel like I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
Let go
Oh I'm alive
I'm alive
Oh I'm alive
