Critically acclaimed Copenhagen-based DJ, jazz drummer and producer SLOWOLF aka Andreas Asingh has released a strong collaborative single with New Zealand born singer: Kimbra, famed for her contribution to Gotye hit, “Somebody That I Used To Know”. The new track called “White Feathers” features SLOWOLF’s signature genre bending production, blending futuristic Hip-Hop, alternative jazz and R&B; influences – leaving the perfect space for Kimbra’s power house vocals to shine.
The new single released: 8 April 2016, follows the release of “The Ring” feat. Pell, which received support from BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens, DJ Semtex) and Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist as well as top music blogs including: Pigeons & Planes and HotNewHipHop. SLOWOLF’s trademark sound has also found fans and early support respected tastemakers from The Guardian to Noisey and he has already landed himself pole position on iTunes and Hype Machine for his previous innovative remix of MØ’s ”Walk This Way”.
The track will be accompanied by a live performance video – shot on location in LA in a hippie commune, showcases Kimbra’s super-sonic vocals, which have seen her collaborate with artists as diverse as Queens Of The Stoneage, John Legend and Thundercat, stated: 'I connected with SLOWOLF after he remixed a track for me called 'Goldmine'. I loved his use of organic instrumentation matched with the electronic elements like heavy drops and cut-up, out-of-the-box groove approaches. It's been great to collaborate on this track (which we did from separate countries!) and to then explore the song in a live context together where it took on a different life. The song to me is about courage and rising from the ashes after times of pain.'
SLOWOLF stated: “In my world Kimbra is one of the greatest and most unique living female vocalists. She is an artist with a capital A and she has the craziest melodic surplus. After working remotely on the track we finally got to met face to face in a studio in Los Angeles and we only needed to play the song a few times before we recorded a live session video the day after - Instead of doing a normal music video I wanted to do a live session and we found this great location - a hippie ranch in the outskirts of LA. People were living in old trailers and busses surrounded by goats, donkeys, chickens and old cars – just the perfect setting for the song ”.
Andreas’ son Karlo inspires the title track for his pending EP White Feathers.
Andreas, a father at 19, has just become a father to his 4th child, who was diagnosed with downs syndrome – or as Andreas himself puts it: "Little brother Karlo is born with an extra feather in is cap. Instead of looking at him as being different from normal I see him as a very special and unique child that stands out for all the right reasons. When Karlo showed up, I felt blessed and I do not doubt that he will teach me great lessons in the future. The track is even more poignant at the moment as sadly Karlo is very unwell and is currently in hospital, in intensive care, undergoing treatment for a chest infection. Thankfully he has been feeling better over the last few days. I like to think a little bit of his fighting spirit is reflected on this record."
The White Feathers EP will showcase SLOWOLF at his most focused and adventurous, seamlessly weaving all of SLOWOLF’s hip hop, jazz, R&B; and grime influences together in one wonderful mix. Tracks are distinct, but the EP is firmly held together with SLOWOLF's unique and stylist sonic vision featuring a variety of soon to be announced artists, ranging from high profile US vocalists to MCs making a splash in the UK Grime scene. Further tracks and info about the EP will be announced shortly.

White Feathers
White Feathers is the debut album by the British new wave band Kajagoogoo, released in spring 1983. It was produced by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran and Colin Thurston, who was Duran Duran's producer at the time, except for track #5, the self-titled "Kajagoogoo", an instrumental (with some lyrics sung only in live performances), which was produced by Tim Palmer and the band. This self-titled song was featured in the John Hughes movie Sixteen Candles as the film's opening title song in 1984. The album contains their most successful single "Too Shy", a UK Number One hit in February 1983, as well as two other UK Top Twenty hits; "Ooh to Be Ah" and "Hang on Now".
White Feathers was reissued in the US on CD by One Way Records in 1993 (S21-17608) with a slightly different track order. After the band was featured on the VH1 program Bands Reunited in 2003, renewed interest in Kajagoogoo prompted the band's original label EMI to re-issue their original debut album in 2004. Originally containing ten tracks, the 2004 UK CD version of the album was completely remastered and contained eight bonus tracks, including four B-sides not included on the album, plus four remixes, two of which are of "Too Shy" (both an extended and the instrumental versions).

White
White is an achromatic color, literally a "color without hue", that is a mixture of the frequencies of all the colors of the visible spectrum. It is one of the most common colors in nature, the color of sunlight, snow, milk, chalk, limestone and other common minerals. In many cultures white represents or signifies purity, innocence, and light, and is the symbolic opposite of black, or darkness. According to surveys in Europe and the United States, white is the color most often associated with perfection, the good, honesty, cleanliness, the beginning, the new, neutrality, and exactitude.
In ancient Egypt and ancient Rome, priestesses wore white as a symbol of purity, and Romans wore a white toga as a symbol of citizenship. In the Middle Ages and Renaissance a white unicorn symbolized chastity, and a white lamb sacrifice and purity; the widows of kings dressed in white rather than black as the color of mourning. It sometimes symbolizes royalty; it was the color of the French kings (black being the color of the queens) and of the monarchist movement after the French Revolution as well as of the movement called the White Russians (not to be confounded with Belarus, literally "White Russia") who fought the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War (1917-1922). Greek and Roman temples were faced with white marble, and beginning in the 18th century, with the advent of neoclassical architecture, white became the most common color of new churches, capitols and other government buildings, especially in the United States of America. It was also widely used in 20th century modern architecture as a symbol of modernity, simplicity and strength.

Feather
Feathers are epidermal growths that form the distinctive outer covering, or plumage, on birds and some non-avian theropod dinosaurs. They are considered the most complex integumentary structures found in vertebrates, and indeed a premier example of a complex evolutionary novelty. They are among the characteristics that distinguish the extant Aves from other living groups. Feathers have also been noticed in those Theropoda which have been termed feathered dinosaurs.
Although feathers cover most parts of the body of birds, they arise only from certain well-defined tracts on the skin. They aid in flight, thermal insulation, and waterproofing. In addition, coloration helps in communication and protection.Plumology (or plumage science) is the name for the science that is associated with the study of feathers.
Structures and characteristics
Feathers are among the most complex integumentary appendages found in vertebrates and are formed in tiny follicles in the epidermis, or outer skin layer, that produce keratin proteins. The β-keratins in feathers, beaks and claws — and the claws, scales and shells of reptiles — are composed of protein strands hydrogen-bonded into β-pleated sheets, which are then further twisted and crosslinked by disulfide bridges into structures even tougher than the α-keratins of mammalian hair, horns and hoof. The exact signals that induce the growth of feathers on the skin are not known, but it has been found that the transcription factor cDermo-1 induces the growth of feathers on skin and scales on the leg.

After working remotely on the track we finally got to met face to face in a studio in Los Angeles and we only needed to play the song a few times before we recorded a live session video the day after - Instead of doing a normal music video I wanted to do a live session and we found this great location - a hippie ranch in the outskirts of LA. People were living in old trailers and busses surrounded by goats, donkeys, chickens and old cars – just the perfect setting for the song ”.
Andreas’ son Karlo inspires the title track for his pending EP White Feathers.
Andreas, a father at 19, has just become a father to his 4th child, who was diagnosed with downs syndrome – or as Andreas himself puts it: "Little brother Karlo is born with an extra feather in is cap. Instead of looking at him as being different from normal I see him as a very special and unique child that stands out for all the right reasons. When Karlo showed up, I felt blessed and I do not doubt that he will teach me great lessons in the future. The track is even more poignant at the moment as sadly Karlo is very unwell and is currently in hospital, in intensive care, undergoing treatment for a chest infection. Thankfully he has been feeling better over the last few days. I like to think a little bit of his fighting spirit is reflected on this record."
The White Feathers EP will showcase SLOWOLF at his most focused and adventurous, seamlessly weaving all of SLOWOLF’s hip hop, jazz, R&B; and grime influences together in one wonderful mix. Tracks are distinct, but the EP is firmly held together with SLOWOLF's unique and stylist sonic vision featuring a variety of soon to be announced artists, ranging from high profile US vocalists to MCs making a splash in the UK Grime scene. Critically acclaimed Copenhagen-based DJ, jazz drummer and producer SLOWOLF aka Andreas Asingh has released a strong collaborative single with New Zealand born singer: Kimbra, famed for her contribution to Gotye hit, “Somebody That I Used To Know”. The new track called “White Feathers” features SLOWOLF’s signature genre bending production, blending futuristic Hip-Hop, alternative jazz and R&B; influences – leaving the perfect space for Kimbra’s power house vocals to shine.
The new single released: 8 April 2016, follows the release of “The Ring” feat. Pell, which received support from BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens, DJ Semtex) and Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist as well as top music blogs including: Pigeons & Planes and HotNewHipHop. SLOWOLF’s trademark sound has also found fans and early support respected tastemakers from The Guardian to Noisey and he has already landed himself pole position on iTunes and Hype Machine for his previous innovative remix of MØ’s ”Walk This Way”.
The track will be accompanied by a live performance video – shot on location in LA in a hippie commune, showcases Kimbra’s super-sonic vocals, which have seen her collaborate with artists as diverse as Queens Of The Stoneage, John Legend and Thundercat, stated: 'I connected with SLOWOLF after he remixed a track for me called 'Goldmine'. I loved his use of organic instrumentation matched with the electronic elements like heavy drops and cut-up, out-of-the-box groove approaches.
