To say
Mother Nature threw
Farmer City Raceway and the
World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series a curveball was an understatement. Highs barely hitting the
40s with Lows as low as 29 and to top it all off, wind gusts up to 50 mph definitely didn't make for optimal racing weather. But
Lance Spieker and his crew never gave up and put countless hours of work into the entire facility all weekend long. Friday night's portion was postponed until Saturday where we saw an absolute shootout between
Ryan Unzicker,
Brandon Overton, and
Billy Moyer Jr, but in the end
...The
Rocketman Josh Richards emerged as the victor. Sunday brought more intense action as
Bobby Pierce and
Scott Bloomquist traded blows for multiple laps before
Bobby finally pulled away and looked to be tracking down Richards. Although a late race caution killed Pierce's momentum and Richards was able to hang on for the weekend sweep
I cannot thank Lance and Tami Spieker enough for their continued support of what we do here at Racing411. My hat goes off to you guys for putting your heads down and grinding through difficult circumstances all weekend long and STILL putting on a great event.
Congratulations, again!
Oh and thanks to that
Michael Rigsby guy and his killer website DirtonDirt.com for allowing me to use some of their footage.
Haha!
I also have to thank all of my loyal supporters who have stuck with me through this entire journey.
I've grown a lot in the last 4 years doing this and I feel like I finally have found my niche and there is no way I would be here today if it weren't for people like
Nick Clubb,
Mike McKinney, and
Chris Rische for being my dirt racing film critics or Dayna Drendel who has given me some AWESOME song suggestions over the past year or guys like
Justin Thomas, Kory Kohler, and countless others who have helped film some of these races so that we could put together these works of art.
It's been a ton of fun, and I look forward to continuing that for many years to come!
