CDT", having never hiked the entirety of the 3,

Jim Wolf, who was a key advocate in
the creation of the trail that was approved by congress in 1978. Its vision was to be a primitive and challenging backcounty trail from
Canada to
Mexico along the backbone of
America. As the quintessential section atop the
Front Range of
Colorado this section of the CDT soars above all others, no where else can you hike atop the divide and topping out on 5 peaks above 13,
000 ft in just 10 miles. And if that is not enough the route ends with an climb up the historic and seldom climbed route up Kiplinger;s couloir to the summit of 14,255 ft
