Lake fishing at its best. Learn how top pro guides catch big trout in Beautiful Lake Tahoe.
This is the river at Carson Bridge. Its view is wonderful, the water is very clear and best of all there's big trout in the water. This is a great family fishing spot. There's a cabin resort 2 minutes away by car with a market, 15 minutes away from South Lake Tahoe. Also restrooms 2 minutes away.
The whole family can hike, walk or fish along the river for miles.

We decided to give that kids Amber (5) and Meka (2) their first fishing experience at a local trout and bass stocked pond in Lake Tahoe. The trout farm is call Tahoe Trout Farm. The service at the farm was great and it was a wonderful experience for the entire family. Amber caught our meal for the day, two trout (13inch and 16inch fish)
We continued the experience back home by preparing the fish we had just caught for lunch.
I would highly recommend this to parents as it teaches kids were their food comes from.

Me and my friend (check out his channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/mohawk546 ) went out on lake Tahoe. We caught a few lake trout and had a very fun time. Apparently it was a bad day and the fish were not biting very much but we still caught some fish. I can't wait to get out there again. It was very cold it was hard to fight the fish because we could not do it very well with gloves on and without gloves for about 30 seconds we would not feel our fingers any more.
We were on"Chuck's Charter Fishing" ( http://www.chuckscharterfishing.com/ ) I can not wait to go out again next time I go to Tahoe.

Lake Tahoe (
/ˈtɑːhoʊ/; Washo: dáʔaw) is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada of the United States. At a surface elevation of 6,225 ft (1,897 m), it is located along the border between California and Nevada, west of Carson City. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America. Its depth is 1,645 ft (501 m), making it the USA's second-deepest (the deepest is Crater Lake in Oregon, being 300 ft (91 m) deeper, at 1,945 ft (593 m)). Additionally, Lake Tahoe is listed as the 26th largest lake by volume in the world at 122,160,280 acre·ft (150.68249 km3).
The lake was formed about 2 million years ago and is a part of the Lake Tahoe Basin with the modern lake being shaped during the ice ages. It is known for the clarity of its water and the panorama of surrounding mountains on all sides. The area surrounding the lake is also referred to as Lake Tahoe, or simply Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe is a major tourist attraction in both Nevada and California. It is home to a number of ski resorts, summer outdoor recreation, and tourist attractions. Snow and skiing are a significant part of the area's economy and reputation. Mountain and lake scenery are attractions throughout the year. The Nevada side also includes large casinos. Highways provide year-round access from Reno, Carson City, and Sacramento.

Trout is the name for a number of species of freshwater fish belonging to the genera Oncorhynchus, Salmo and Salvelinus, all of the subfamily Salmoninae of the family Salmonidae. The word trout is also used as part of the name of some non-salmonid fish such as Cynoscion nebulosus, the spotted seatrout or speckled trout.
Trout are closely related to salmon and char (or charr): species termed salmon and char occur in the same genera as do trout (Oncorhynchus - Pacific salmon and trout, Salmo - Atlantic salmon and various trout, Salvelinus - char and trout).
Most trout such as Lake trout live in freshwater lakes and/or rivers exclusively, while there are others such as the Rainbow trout which spend two or three years at sea before returning to freshwater to spawn, a habit more typical of salmon.
Trout are an important food source for humans and wildlife including brown bears, birds of prey such as eagles, and other animals. They are classified as an oily fish.

we Had a picnic next to the Ophir Creek and got a surprise when we looked over and saw brook trout swimming up and down a stream I thought was to small to have fish but some of them where 9 inches. The creek is located 1.5 miles south of Mt Rose Campground and goes right under mt rose Highway and has some great hikes. -

Tahoe Kokanee Jigging
Lake Tahoe is known for its fast-pace lake trout fishing. However, from August through September the kokanee fishing can out duel the lakers. During late summer the kokanee mass in front of Taylor Creek in preparation to spawn. Guide Mike Nielsen of Tahoe Topliners spends his time jigging for the kokanee and often catches and releases more than two dozen fish an hour with clients. Fishing for trout in Lake Tahoe Area
Fish for trout at Carson Bridge. Its almost at hwy 88 and 89 almost at the intersection. its 20 minutes from south lake tahoe side of 50 and Meyers. I stayed the night by the bridge sleeping in my car at 2am waiting for friends to fish at 5am when a bear woke me up at my side window. I will never do that again. -

We decided to give that kids Amber (5) and Meka (2) their first fishing experience at a local trout and bass stocked pond in Lake Tahoe. The trout farm is call Tahoe Trout Farm. The service at the farm was great and it was a wonderful experience for the entire family. Amber caught our meal for the day, two trout (13inch and 16inch fish)
We continued the experience back home by preparing the fish we had just caught for lunch.
I would highly recommend this to parents as it teaches kids were their food comes from.

Apparently it was a bad day and the fish were not biting very much but we still caught some fish. I can't wait to get out there again. It was very cold it was hard to fight the fish because we could not do it very well with gloves on and without gloves for about 30 seconds we would not feel our fingers any more.
We were on"Chuck's Charter Fishing" ( http://www.chuckscharterfishing.com/ ) I can not wait to go out again next time I go to Tahoe.

The creek is located 1.5 miles south of Mt Rose Campground and goes right under mt rose Highway and has some great hikes.

I stayed the night by the bridge sleeping in my car at 2am waiting for friends to fish at 5am when a bear woke me up at my side window. I will never do that again.

The Black Bart neighborhood in South Lake Tahoe, CA is located between the Sierra Tract neighborhood and Pioneer Trail which offers this neighborhood easy access to both of the South Shore's major roads, Pioneer Trail and Lake Tahoe Blvd (Hwy 50.).
Black Bart is a very small area, and has less than 200 homes that are nestled along the Trout Creek Meadow. On the average, these homes feature three bedrooms, two baths and 1,220 square feet of living space. However, because the area is located between the former Lake Christopher area and Trout Creek meadows, many beautiful larger and newer homes have been constructed to take advantage of the stunning mountain and meadow views. Many of the lots within Black Bart are larger than the average found throughout South Lake Tahoe, providing extra elbow room and privacy.
The beauty of the area is enhanced by the adjacent Trout Creek meadows which contain what used to be Lake Christopher. The lake was recently reformed to follow the creek's original path. Methods: Plunge pools and tailouts, weight 8-10" above fly, down within 6" of the bottom, swing the tailouts, czech the plunge pools, general tight-line nymphing techniques.
