Plot Theme::

He moves back to the U.S. to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife. After the split, Roanoke's wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid -- to the horror of the teams' owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the 40-year-old "Bullard Curse" and win the Stanley Cup.

Austin Powers trilogy star Mike Myers collaborates with writer Graham Gordy for this comedy concerning a self-help guru named Pitka (Myers) who devotes his life to unknotting the romantic entanglements of troubled couples. As a young child, Pitka is abandoned at the gates of an ashram in India and taken in by kindly gurus. An American by birth, Pitka absorbs the lessons taught to him by his teachers and later returns to the United States to become a leading authority on spirituality and self-help. While Pitka's methods are decidedly unorthodox, they may be the only means of ensuring that the Toronto Maple Leafs win the coveted Stanley Cup. Maple Leafs star Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) is in trouble. His estranged wife has recently begun dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) in a vengeful effort to send her husband's career into a tailspin, and when Roanoke starts to falter on the ice, the whole team starts to suffer. As their visions of leading the Maple Leafs to the Stanley Cup are quickly going up in flames, team owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer) enlist the aid of the world's best-known relationship expert in restoring the peace between Roanoke and his wife, and getting their team back on track to the championships.

Aishwarya Rai, known also as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan after her marriage (Tulu pronunciation [əjɕʋərjaː rəj]; born 1 November 1973) is an Indian film actress. She worked as a model before starting her acting career, and ultimately won the Miss World pageant in 1994. Rai has featured in films in various languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali.
Often cited by the media as the "most beautiful woman in the world", Rai made her acting debut with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar (1997), and had her first commercial success in Jeans (1998). She found success in Bollywood with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Devdas (2002) and eventually won two Filmfare Awards in the Best Actress category.

In the comedy "The Love Guru," Pitka (Mike Myers in his first original character since Austin Powers) is an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves back to the U.S. to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife. After the split, Roanoke's wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid -- to the horror of the teams' owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the 40-year-old "Bullard Curse" and win the Stanley Cup.

An American by birth, Pitka absorbs the lessons taught to him by his teachers and later returns to the United States to become a leading authority on spirituality and self-help. While Pitka's methods are decidedly unorthodox, they may be the only means of ensuring that the Toronto Maple Leafs win the coveted Stanley Cup. Maple Leafs star Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) is in trouble. His estranged wife has recently begun dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) in a vengeful effort to send her husband's career into a tailspin, and when Roanoke starts to falter on the ice, the whole team starts to suffer. The follow-up to the heavily acclaimed Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1. This album might not have quite as much jazz-rap power as the first volume did, but it's still quite good. Some of the big guns of jazz found their way into the album, including Branford Marsalis (who, of course, had already experimented with urban beats a bit with his Buckshot Lefonque project), Freddie Hubbard, Ramsey Lewis, and Kenny Garrett. Underground rapper Kool Keith (at this point still a member of the Ultramagnetics) also makes an appearance. Dancehall reggae princess Patra is included on a track, as are Chaka Khan and Me'Shell N'Degeocello; Jamiroquai helps out in another. In some ways, the personnel on this album may be slightly superior to the first outing, but the music also seems a tiny bit blander. Still, what makes the Jazzmatazz albums special is the live synthesis of jazz and rap. With Guru's vocals over the top of live jazz performers (as opposed the usual samples), interplay is facilitated between the two, and thus a whole new dimension is added to the fusion. For someone interested in jazz-rap in general, the first album is a higher priority (as would be Us3's albums, with extensive Blue Note sampling), but this album is still high on the list.

Guru is a fantasy film. It is highly symbolic and makes a statement on terrorism by religions and the evils of the world. The story starts in small peaceful village in India. There is peace between the Hindus and the Muslims that live there. They all get along like family. Raghurāman (Mohanlal) is the son of the local Hindu temple's priest. When an ambitious politician's (NF Varghese) goons disguised as Muslims cause trouble at the local temple, tensions break out between the two communities. The tensions soon flame into a religious riot. Muslims and Hindus began killing each other for the sake of their own religions. Raghurāman joins Hindu gang which is about to attack a group of Muslims who have taken refuge in a guru's asram (a place where a holy guru lived and worked). But at a point Raghurāman has an out of the world experience in the asram.
He is now in the world of the blind. He is taken to a world where everyone is blind (Religious) and where people do not believe in the sense of sight (Logic/commonsense). Raghurāman saves a man from death and befriends him. He is astonished by the perfect activities of the citizens. They actually believe it as a sin to think that there is a thing called sight. Their children are taught that there is no world of sight from childhood (brainwashed by parents religion). When Raghurāman tries to tell them that there is a world of sight (common sense) and that he can see, they don't believe him. They consider him evil because he can do things that they can't.
Raghurāman eats a common fruit (Ilaama pazham: Symbolic of religious beliefs) that they have in that land. He finds out the hard way that this tasty addictive fruit is the cause of their blindness. Now that he is blind (religious) and helpless. The kings soldiers, whom he had evaded before because of his sight, captures him. The king (Suresh Gopi) sentences him to death by drinking the extract from the seeds of the same fruit that made him blind. This form of punishment has never been given to anyone before. The seeds (commonsense) of the addictive fruit that Reghuraman eats is considered to be fatally poisonous and bitter (Atheism). After the soldiers carry out the sentence he is left to die. But instead he sees that his blindness is cured by the seeds extract.
He then spreads the message throughout the kingdom that their beliefs were wrong. They still refuse to believe him. Some people take the seeds and experience sight. The people with sight try to take revenge on the people without sight. Raghurāman stops this with a wonderful speech. In the end everyone including the king is convinced to take the bitter seed (truth) than delicious fruit (Lie). He is brought back into the normal world by the Guru's spirit. Raghurāman realizes that his thirst for revenge by the sake of religion is a sin. He stops the riot gang's plan to kill the Muslims by blasting a bomb. And help people without seeing their religious status.

Raghurāman joins Hindu gang which is about to attack a group of Muslims who have taken refuge in a guru's asram (a place where a holy guru lived and worked). But at a point Raghurāman has an out of the world experience in the asram.
He is now in the world of the blind. He is taken to a world where everyone is blind (Religious) and where people do not believe in the sense of sight (Logic/commonsense). Raghurāman saves a man from death and befriends him. He is astonished by the perfect activities of the citizens. They actually believe it as a sin to think that there is a thing called sight. Their children are taught that there is no world of sight from childhood (brainwashed by parents religion). When Raghurāman tries to tell them that there is a world of sight (common sense) and that he can see, they don't believe him. They consider him evil because he can do things that they can't.
Raghurāman eats a common fruit (Ilaama pazham: Symbolic of religious beliefs) that they have in that land. He finds out the hard way that this tasty addictive fruit is the cause of their blindness. Now that he is blind (religious) and helpless. The kings soldiers, whom he had evaded before because of his sight, captures him. The king (Suresh Gopi) sentences him to death by drinking the extract from the seeds of the same fruit that made him blind. This form of punishment has never been given to anyone before. The seeds (commonsense) of the addictive fruit that Reghuraman eats is considered to be fatally poisonous and bitter (Atheism). After the soldiers carry out the sentence he is left to die. But instead he sees that his blindness is cured by the seeds extract.
He then spreads the message throughout the kingdom that their beliefs were wrong. They still refuse to believe him. Some people take the seeds and experience sight. The people with sight try to take revenge on the people without sight. Raghurāman stops this with a wonderful speech. In the end everyone including the king is convinced to take the bitter seed (truth) than delicious fruit (Lie). He is brought back into the normal world by the Guru's spirit. Raghurāman realizes that his thirst for revenge by the sake of religion is a sin. He stops the riot gang's plan to kill the Muslims by blasting a bomb. And help people without seeing their religious status.

Sri Saanthaanantha Swaamigal's "Skanda Guru Kavasam," is one of the famous Tamil hymn in praise of Lord Murugan - in the form of our Guru.
Guru is a spiritual teacher who helps remove the darkness of ignorance in one's life and leads him towards the the light of wisdom, which frees one from the suffereings of earthly life.
In Saiva Siddhanta, the importance of the Guru is paramount, for one cannot seek God-realization without the grace and guidance of a Guru - just as one cannot reach a destination in a foreign country without the help of a tour guide. The destination in this case is God, the foreign country is our earthly life filled with its karmic bonds, and the tour guide is the Guru - who knows all the pitfalls, deadends, detours, etc. encountered by the devotee as he strives to reach his goal (God).
In Hinduism, it is commonly accepted and understood that the worship of Guru is worship of God - for the Guru is One with God. The Guru is the external manifestation of the real Guru (God) - who resides within all souls.
The great Chinese poet Confuscious once said, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears." Similary, only when the devotee is ready, will the Guru appear. It is really God who senses the spiritual maturation of the devotee's soul and sends forth a Guru (saint) to help the truth-seeker attain self-realization - and thus, freeing himself from worldly existence (moksham). The fundamental foundation for this to occur is bakthi (devotion) to God.
Skanda Guru Kavasam is a hymn filled with bakthi to invoke the true Guru within us (God) - in the form of Lord Murugan - and beseech Bhagavan's grace to help us attain our true nature. For those without a Guru, Sri Skanda becomes our Guru. For those with a Guru, Sri Skanda helps us realize the Oneness of Guru and God.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) issued notices to spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar on Tuesday for alleged contempt and violation of court orders with regard to the World Cultural Festival, which was organised on the Yamuna floodplains in March ... The Foundation has termed both applications as “baseless”. A petition has accused the spiritual guru of flouting court orders....

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday sought response of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on the pleas of two students, accused of sedition for a controversial event of February 9 in the varsity, challenging their rustication for varying durations. Based on the findings of a high-level inquiry committee (HLEC), the University rusticated Umar Khalid for one semester and another student leader, Anirban Bhattacharya, till July 15....
