I know of 3 dates from 1977 when Easy Cure supposedly played in Queens Square, Crawley. These are June 3 (Friday), July 3 (Sunday) and October 9 (Sunday).
In my opinion this concert was held on July 3, 1977 (out of the three possible dates). Why? I explain it below.
Books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" say Easy Cure played a Peace Concert in Queens Square on June 3 and the local press published an article about it. But the article says their gig was on Sunday, not Friday.
Both Michael Dempsey (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/cure3.htm) and the book "Never Enough" say that the footage of the October 9 gig appears on "Staring At The Sea". In that video we see Peter O'Toole singing. However, "Ten Imaginary Years" says that Peter O'Toole quit on September 12 and Robert took over singing duties.
The video seems to be recorded on a hot, sunny day. A lady in a summer dress waving a fan, men in t-shirts or even topless. July 3 was one of the hotest days of 1977, the highest temperature was 27-28°C at Heathrow Airport, 30 miles from Crawley (goo.gl/rALhrP). On June 3 it was between 19-24°C and on October 9 it was 16-17°C.
According to the books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "Never Enough", 300 people turned up for the Peace concert. But on the video on "Staring At The Sea" we never see a crowd, just a few dozen people watching them.
We know the advertising poster for "Peace Party" (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/pictures/cur1.jpg) and it has the date October 9. So we can be sure that "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" is wrong about the date of the gig.
And also, based on all the things mentioned above, we can be quite sure that the video on "Staring At The Sea" wasn't recorded at the "Peace Party" but at another time.
The book "Clinical Prescriptions" says the "Staring At The Sea" footage was recorded on July 3 and it seems the correct date to me.
And as for June 3, that gig never happened, it's just a typo.

Easy Cure
Easy Cure was a short-lived British rock band from Crawley, Sussex formed during the late 1970s by former members of Malice. Easy Cure went on to fame when, after several lineup changes, they became The Cure.
History
Robert Smith (guitar), Porl Thompson (lead guitar), Michael Dempsey (bass guitar) and Lol Tolhurst (drums) began performing together in a late line up of Malice in 1976, after Tolhurst and Thompson replaced Malice's original drummer and lead guitarist. When Malice's vocalist Martin Creasy quit the band, they took the new name Easy Cure in January 1977 from a song written by Tolhurst.
During March 1977 Easy Cure hired and fired a vocalist known only as Gary X, who by April had been replaced by Peter O'Toole (not the actor). This lineup gave their first live performance on 24 April at Saint Edward's Hall, Crawley, Sussex, England. On 5 May Easy Cure made the first of many regular live appearances at the Crawley pub then known as The Rocket. Within the same month, the band recorded a demo in Robert's parents' house, entered and won a talent contest and signed a recording contract with German record label Ariola-Hansa on 18 May.

Cure
A cure is the end of a medical condition; the substance or procedure that ends the medical condition, such as a medication, a surgical operation, a change in lifestyle, or even a philosophical mindset that helps end a person's sufferings. It may also refer to the state of being healed, or cured.
A remission is a temporary end to the medical signs and symptoms of an incurable disease. A disease is said to be incurable if there is always a chance of the patient relapsing, no matter how long the patient has been in remission.
The proportion of people with a disease that are cured by a given treatment, called the cure fraction or cure rate, is determined by comparing disease-free survival of treated people against a matched control group that never had the disease.
Another way of determining the cure fraction and/or "cure time" is by measuring when the hazard rate in a diseased group of individuals returns to the hazard rate measured in the general population.
Inherent in the idea of a cure is the permanent end to the specific instance of the disease. When a person has the common cold, and then recovers from it, the person is said to be cured, even though the person might someday catch another cold. Conversely, a person that has successfully managed a disease, such as diabetes mellitus, so that it produces no undesirable symptoms for the moment, but without actually permanently ending it, is not cured.

I know of 3 dates from 1977 when Easy Cure supposedly played in Queens Square, Crawley. These are June 3 (Friday), July 3 (Sunday) and October 9 (Sunday).
In my opinion this concert was held on July 3, 1977 (out of the three possible dates). Why? I explain it below.
Books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" say Easy Cure played a Peace Concert in Queens Square on June 3 and the local press published an article about it. But the article says their gig was on Sunday, not Friday.
Both Michael Dempsey (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/cure3.htm) and the book "Never Enough" say that the footage of the October 9 gig appears on "Staring At The Sea". In that video we see Peter O'Toole singing. However, "Ten Imaginary Years" says that Peter O'Toole quit on September 12 and Robert took over singing duties.
The video seems to be recorded on a hot, sunny day. A lady in a summer dress waving a fan, men in t-shirts or even topless. July 3 was one of the hotest days of 1977, the highest temperature was 27-28°C at Heathrow Airport, 30 miles from Crawley (goo.gl/rALhrP). On June 3 it was between 19-24°C and on October 9 it was 16-17°C.
According to the books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "Never Enough", 300 people turned up for the Peace concert. But on the video on "Staring At The Sea" we never see a crowd, just a few dozen people watching them.
We know the advertising poster for "Peace Party" (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/pictures/cur1.jpg) and it has the date October 9. So we can be sure that "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" is wrong about the date of the gig.

I know of 3 dates from 1977 when Easy Cure supposedly played in Queens Square, Crawley. These are June 3 (Friday), July 3 (Sunday) and October 9 (Sunday).
In my opinion this concert was held on July 3, 1977 (out of the three possible dates). Why? I explain it below.
Books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" say Easy Cure played a Peace Concert in Queens Square on June 3 and the local press published an article about it. But the article says their gig was on Sunday, not Friday.
Both Michael Dempsey (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/cure3.htm) and the book "Never Enough" say that the footage of the October 9 gig appears on "Staring At The Sea". In that video we see Peter O'Toole singing. However, "Ten Imaginary Years" says that Peter O'Toole quit on September 12 and Robert took over singing duties.
The video seems to be recorded on a hot, sunny day. A lady in a summer dress waving a fan, men in t-shirts or even topless. July 3 was one of the hotest days of 1977, the highest temperature was 27-28°C at Heathrow Airport, 30 miles from Crawley (goo.gl/rALhrP). On June 3 it was between 19-24°C and on October 9 it was 16-17°C.
According to the books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "Never Enough", 300 people turned up for the Peace concert. But on the video on "Staring At The Sea" we never see a crowd, just a few dozen people watching them.
We know the advertising poster for "Peace Party" (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/pictures/cur1.jpg) and it has the date October 9. So we can be sure that "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" is wrong about the date of the gig.
And also, based on all the things mentioned above, we can be quite sure that the video on "Staring At The Sea" wasn't recorded at the "Peace Party" but at another time.
The book "Clinical Prescriptions" says the "Staring At The Sea" footage was recorded on July 3 and it seems the correct date to me.
And as for June 3, that gig never happened, it's just a typo.

I know of 3 dates from 1977 when Easy Cure supposedly played in Queens Square, Crawley. These are June 3 (Friday), July 3 (Sunday) and October 9 (Sunday).
In my opinion this concert was held on July 3, 1977 (out of the three possible dates). Why? I explain it below.
Books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" say Easy Cure played a Peace Concert in Queens Square on June 3 and the local press published an article about it. But the article says their gig was on Sunday, not Friday.
Both Michael Dempsey (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/cure3.htm) and the book "Never Enough" say that the footage of the October 9 gig appears on "Staring At The Sea". In that video we see Peter O'Toole singing. However, "Ten Imaginary Years" says that Peter O'Toole quit on September 12 and Robert took over singing duties.
The video seems to be recorded on a hot, sunny day. A lady in a summer dress waving a fan, men in t-shirts or even topless. July 3 was one of the hotest days of 1977, the highest temperature was 27-28°C at Heathrow Airport, 30 miles from Crawley (goo.gl/rALhrP). On June 3 it was between 19-24°C and on October 9 it was 16-17°C.
According to the books "Ten Imaginary Years" and "Never Enough", 300 people turned up for the Peace concert. But on the video on "Staring At The Sea" we never see a crowd, just a few dozen people watching them.
We know the advertising poster for "Peace Party" (http://www.mdmmedia.com/mdm/pictures/cur1.jpg) and it has the date October 9. So we can be sure that "Ten Imaginary Years" and "A Visual Documentary" is wrong about the date of the gig.
And also, based on all the things mentioned above, we can be quite sure that the video on "Staring At The Sea" wasn't recorded at the "Peace Party" but at another time.
The book "Clinical Prescriptions" says the "Staring At The Sea" footage was recorded on July 3 and it seems the correct date to me.
And as for June 3, that gig never happened, it's just a typo.
