Countering The Establishment Media Narrative During The 2016 Election

All over the United States, Americans are finally rising up against the agenda and legacy of the New Democrats. Many are rejecting devastating free trade deals like NAFTA and the TPP, pro-Wall Street policies, slashes to social welfare programs, environmental destruction, and the expansion of mass incarceration.

It is an extraordinary moment to go forward with clarity and bolster social movements, which promote economic, environmental, and racial justice and equality.

Here at Shadowproof, we are heartened by the shift in consciousness that is taking place among people who share our values and principles for society. We are committed to challenging inaccurate and disingenuous reporting among establishment media, who defend the status quo even when faced with evidence of what the status quo has done to transform cities into dreadful sacrifice zones.

Our reporting is intended to amplify the grassroots against the power of the corporate state, but we cannot continue to produce our independent journalism without your support.

Shadowproof launched about seven months ago. In that time, we have relied upon small one-time donations and have built a small but growing base of dedicated supporters to fund our media organization. However, we would now like to invite you to become a member of Shadowproof to help us become an even greater force for the truth within the media landscape.

We currently have 45 members giving an average of $15 per month, and we are setting a goal for this current drive of 100 members.

Will you please become a member and donate $10/month to fund fierce, independent reporting and analysis on the 2016 Election and issues critical to social movements?

Regardless of who wins the election in November, we cannot presume that any of the candidates are on the side of social progress if they are unwilling to stand with social movements. It will be crucial to approach all that unfolds with clarity, and not abandon our principles.

Having a base of support from 100 members or more makes it possible to take our investigative journalism to the next level. We can spend less time thinking about how to fund the organization each month and instead dig deeper into stories and developments, which demand further attention but are ignored by establishment media.

Your donation of $10 per month will provide a dedicated stream of funding. These funds will help us provide a platform for more voices, who can inject their wisdom into a broad conversation about struggles and how to build power in order to achieve transformative change.

There is a critical groundswell steadily growing in America today. The politics of “me” are being replaced with the politics of “us.” The idea that all of us are on our own is being overtaken by the idea that we are in this together.

Shadowproof is a collaborative media organization, which can pull from this energy and advance the push for a society that treats its most vulnerable citizens better. But we cannot do the critical work, which we know many of you appreciate, without your support.

Please donate $10/month and become a Shadowproof member today.
