Victoria

Victoria is situated on south-east Australia and is geographically the smallest mainland state. It's Australia's most densely populated state with most people residing in areas that surround Port Phillip. This includes Melbourne, the state's capital which is Australia's second largest city behind Sydney. The Melbourne Cricket Ground is widely acknowledged as being the 'spiritual home' of Australian cricket and Australian Rules Football (AFL). The MCG sees the grand final of AFL played out, attracting more than 95,000 people to the event.

In 2010 the population of Victoria was estimated to be 5,547,500. Alike to New South Wales, Victoria also engages largely in the finance, insurance and property sectors and the service industry sector is the fastest growing of its economy. It is also known as being the culture capital of Australia, with many prominent artists, musicians and writers coming from the state. This includes people such as Eric Bana Kylie Minogue and Liam Hemsworth.
