Hey everybody IHTW here!
Finally i created a video about my newt efts that show them in great detail eating baby leopard slugs :3 so cute haha so each newt i fed at least 1 slug some ate up to 4 (the big ones) these leopard slugs were hatched and raised by me and fed to my newt efts who were bred, hatched, and raised by me as well. they are all doing very well eating like little monsters :P

Every winter, California newts leave the safety of their forest burrows and travel as far as three miles to mate in the pond where they were born. Their mating ritual is a raucous affair that involves bulked-up males, writhing females and a little cannibalism.

These amphibious creatures are about five to eight inches long, with rust-colored skin, except for their bright yellow eyes and belly. They began to arrive at the UC Botanical Garden around November, and will stay here for the duration of the rainy season, usually through the end of March.
While California newts (Taricha torosa) are only about six inches long, they might travel as far as three miles to return to their birthplace. That's the equivalent for a human of walking about a marathon and a half, without any signs or road maps. Scientists aren't sure exactly how they find their way, but they think it might be based on smell.
Why do newts live in a pond? California Newts live most of their time in the forest, but mate in the pond where they were born.

These two totally owned my heart in both the books and the movies. Kate made me read the first freaking book and i fell in love with the friendship between Newt & Thomas, Alby & Newt, Newt & Minho AND even Thomas & Gally.. so yeah… thanks a lot hun. I didn't need all these feels. But i think the Newt & Thomas friendship was by far the most catching :)
I really like how Newt didn't really get that angry at Thomas when he found out he was working with wicked. Eventhough Newt said it didn't matter, Thomas still felt really guilty about it. And i also love the part when Thomas looks at Newt for help and Newt sticks out for him when Gally wanted to punish him. Friendship goals right thereee.
I'm so sorry about the crappy editing/voiceovers and pretty much crappy everything hahah ^^ no inspiration this week.

A newt is an aquatic amphibian of the family Salamandridae, although not all aquatic salamanders are considered newts. Newts are classified in the subfamily Pleurodelinae of the family Salamandridae, and are found in North America, Europe and Asia. Newts metamorphose through three distinct developmental life stages: aquatic larva, terrestrial juvenile (called an eft), and adult. Adult newts have lizard-like bodies and may be either fully aquatic, living permanently in the water, or semi-aquatic, living terrestrially but returning to the water each year to breed.
Newts share many of the characteristics of their salamander kin; Caudata, including semi-permeable glandular skin, four equal sized limbs and a distinct tail. The newt's skin, however, is not as smooth as that of other salamanders. Aquatic larvae have true teeth on both upper and lower jaws, and external gills. They have the ability to regenerate limbs, eyes, spinal cords, hearts, intestines, and upper and lower jaws. Recently it was discovered that the Japanese fire belly newt can regenerate its eye lens 18 times over a period of 16 years and retain its structural and functional properties. The cells at the site of the injury have the ability to de-differentiate, reproduce rapidly, and differentiate again to create a new limb or organ. One theory is that the de-differentiated cells are related to tumour cells since chemicals which produce tumours in other animals will produce additional limbs in newts.

Newton Leroy "Newt" Gingrich (
/ˈnjuːt ˈɡɪŋɡrɪtʃ/; born Newton Leroy McPherson; June 17, 1943) is an American politician, author, and political consultant. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican from 1979 until his resignation in 1999, and served as the 58th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. Gingrich was a candidate for the 2012 Republican Party presidential nomination.
In the 1970s, Gingrich taught history and geography at the University of West Georgia. During this period he ran twice (1974 and 1976) for the United States House of Representatives before winning in November 1978. He served as House Minority Whip from 1989 to 1995.
A co-author and architect of the "Contract with America", Gingrich was a major leader in the Republican victory in the 1994 congressional election. In 1995, Time named him "Man of the Year" for "his role in ending the four-decades-long Democratic majority in the House". While he was House speaker, the House enacted welfare reform, passed a capital gains tax cut in 1997, and in 1998 passed the first balanced budget since 1969. The poor showing by Republicans in the 1998 Congressional election and pressure from Republican colleagues caused Gingrich's resignation from the speakership on November 5, 1998, and then the House on January 3, 1999.

Rachel Anne Maddow (pronounced /ˈmædoʊ/; born April 1, 1973) is an American television host, political commentator, and author. Maddow hosts a nightly television show, The Rachel Maddow Show, on MSNBC. Her syndicated talk radio program of the same name aired on Air America Radio. Maddow is the first openly gay anchor of a prime-time news program in the United States.
Asked about her political views by the Valley Advocate, Maddow replied, "I'm undoubtedly a liberal, which means that I'm in almost total agreement with the Eisenhower-era Republican party platform."
Maddow was born in Castro Valley, California. Her father, Robert B. "Bob" Maddow, is a former United States Air Force captain who resigned his commission the year before her birth and found civilian work as a lawyer for the East Bay Municipal Utility District. Her mother, Elaine Maddow (née Gosse), is a school program administrator from Newfoundland, Canada. She has one older brother, David. Her father is of Russian and Dutch descent and her mother is of English and Irish ancestry. Maddow's mother was raised a strict Roman Catholic, and Maddow herself grew up in a community that her mother has described as "very conservative." Maddow was a competitive athlete and played three sports in high school. Referencing John Hughes films, she describes herself in high school as "a cross between the jock and the antisocial girl."

While California newts (Taricha torosa) are only about six inches long, they might travel as far as three miles to return to their birthplace. That's the equivalent for a human of walking about a marathon and a half, without any signs or road maps. Scientists aren't sure exactly how they find their way, but they think it might be based on smell. Why do newts live in a pond? These two totally owned my heart in both the books and the movies. Kate made me read the first freaking book and i fell in love with the friendship between Newt & Thomas, Alby & Newt, Newt & Minho AND even Thomas & Gally.. so yeah… thanks a lot hun. I didn't need all these feels. But i think the Newt & Thomas friendship was by far the most catching :)
I really like how Newt didn't really get that angry at Thomas when he found out he was working with wicked. Eventhough Newt said it didn't matter, Thomas still felt really guilty about it. And i also love the part when Thomas looks at Newt for help and Newt sticks out for him when Gally wanted to punish him. Friendship goals right thereee.
I'm so sorry about the crappy editing/voiceovers and pretty much crappy everything hahah ^^ no inspiration this week.
