"Hey Sandman, There are a couple of topics you've discussed that really resonated with me and have left me thinking. They are hypergamy and the wall. Here are some thoughts on each, please discuss as you see fit. Regarding hypergamy, it occurred to me that hypergamy becomes seamlessly ingrained into our culture as a society becomes more technologically and thus economically advanced. Put another way, when human society lacks technological advancement, the only way groups of people can survive is by allowing unchecked masculinity to become the dominant mode of being. A modern example would be a place like Afghanistan, where the harsh and brutal climate create a male dominated society. The cultural byproducts of this are physical violence and polygamy. In Western society, we have relatively comfortable lives created by technology and by wealth, and so society's tendency to dis-empower and disregard males who may pose a threat to anyone in power takes control. This results in a gynocentric culture where psychological/emotional/social violence, as opposed to physical violence, and where hypergamy as opposed to polygamy became the cultural norm. It is a society's level of advancement (meaning wealth and safety for most people) that determines its level of hypergamy. I explained this to a friend and he pointed out that many advanced societies, like South Korea for example, remain male dominated and do not have hypergamy as a cultural norm. I've thought this over and can't figure it out. If you have any thoughts on this I'd like to hear them. Regarding the Wall. I'm in my early thirties and got back into dating about two years ago after being in a four year relationship. I've dated women from their early twenties to mid thirties and I'm awestruck by the mental gymnastics women are capable of when it comes to the Wall, namely, the complete denial of its significance and sometimes of its very existence. We can take it as a given that women in their early twenties have a higher market value than those of around thirty, yet women of thirty are often harder to date, spend time with, gain the approval of, and have sex with than their younger, more desirable counterparts. It would be like a car dealer charging a premium for models with higher mileage, and as a generally rational minded person I find this truly mind boggling. Trying to understand this based on what I know of female psychology, here’s what I’ve come up with. Women know instinctively that as they age their value on the dating market lessens, and so their chances of finding a suitable mate necessarily decreases, but due to their indoctrination in feminist ideology, their conscious mind learns to suppress this and other instincts. 1.
