I enjoy every minute of the summer, knowing the winter is around the corner and the big White Sea Bass will quickly disappear. Come with me to quietly cruise the kelp to see what we can find. Watch a variety of shots on WSB - surface shots, using a reel with personal float & espetto shots.
On July 18th 2014 we went in search of some seabass, since they had been catching them lately. We trolled most of the day, and ended up doing pretty well.
First white seabass was about 16 pounds caught on a Williamson Live Mackerel lure (http://www.rapala.com/williamson/trolling-lures/live-series-soft-lures/live-mackerel/Live+Mackerel.html?start=1&cgid;=williamson-trollingLures-liveSeriesSoftLures).
The halibut was about 23 pounds and caught on a bounce ball set-up and an actual live pacific mackerel. The final white seabass was about 24 pounds and caught on a green mackerel pattern Rapala.

Blue water hunting would not be the same if it were not for one man. This legend and father of blue water hunting is none other than Dr Terry Maas.
In the 80’s Terry was a multiple US National champ and for a decade was part of the USA spearfishing team.
By the 90’s Terry had turned his attention to the art of blue water hunting. He pushed the envelope on what fish could be taken with a speargun. And it was not long before Terry was breaking massive world records.
By the late 90’s Terry’s accomplishments were legendary, and in a time before the internet his books and videos became the blue water spearfishermans bibles.
His books laid out from A-Z what Terry had learnt, laying the foundation for hunting massive trophy fish. His films inspired and opened up the awesome world of freedive spearfishing to thousands of people.
Today Terry has hosted TV programs, and lead the way in freedive videography with his footage used in productions world wide. He still continues to innovate with inventions like the freedive recovery vest.
Terry still dives and shoots incredible fish he is a pioneer and a legend who paved the way for a whole new breed of spearfisherman. Its because of him spearfishing is what it is today.

Hi everyone , it's been awhile since I've posted or opened my channel to the public. I want to share a little trip I took during the past few weeks.
It's been months of good fishing mostly everywhere but one fish I haven't tried for this year. Working with the tides, wind, current, swells and weather this was a (Now or Never) trip.
Sadly to say no big fish on this trip but we caught enough mack's for family , friends and for the Dungeness Crab Opener around the corner.
Fishing is always fun even if you don't catch. Being out on the water is very relaxing and that's what I needed.
Kids are back in school I will be posting some vids in the winter months.
For now this is a fishing vid that turned into mackerel trip,
it was very fun I hope you enjoy.

This is a compilation of some of the larger white seabass I have on film. None of them were speared, although I clearly could have shot most of them. I've tried to use the clearest clips, being that the compression blurs the others so much. The last clip is undoubtedly the largest WSB ever captured on film as far as I know. The fish it's following is your typical 40 - 45 pounder. The big one has to be somewhere in the 90 - 100+ pound range. Never, ever shoot a fish from the surface. It is totally unsporting and as cowardly an act as you can perform. What a pathetic end it would have been to that glorious fishes life. If you can't take the dive without scaring the fish off, you don't deserve it. Freedive spearfishing is the most admirable and conservation minded way of hunting in the world. Represent us well and respect your prey. Enjoy the video.

Pacific Dawn Sportfishing White Seabass fishing at Santa Rosa Island. Easy limits for 24 by 6:30am. Then off to slay the rockfish on greasy calm conditions. Channel Island fishing at its finest with the fine crew of the Pac Dawn. Awesome trip. First Seabass landed was me @ 3:30am with rod in the holder(17lbs). Even got some clips of the Mirage Sportfishing Crew catching some fish! Biggest fish at 46 lbs with the average around 15-20lbs.

The White Sea (Russian: Бе́лое мо́ре) is a southern inlet of the Barents Sea located on the northwest coast of Russia. It is surrounded by Karelia to the west, the Kola Peninsula to the north, and the Kanin Peninsula to the northeast. The whole of the White Sea is under Russian sovereignty and considered to be part of the internal waters of Russia. Administratively, it is divided between Arkhangelsk and Murmansk Oblasts and the Republic of Karelia.
The major port of Arkhangelsk is located on the White Sea. For much of Russia's history this was Russia's main centre of international maritime trade, conducted by the so-called Pomors ("seaside settlers") from Kholmogory. In the modern era it became an important Soviet naval and submarine base. The White Sea-Baltic Canal connects the White Sea with the Baltic Sea.
The White Sea is one of four seas named in English after common colour terms — the others being the Black Sea, the Red Sea and the Yellow Sea.
The International Hydrographic Organization defines the northern limit of the White Sea as "A line joining Svyatoi Nos (Murmansk Coast, 39°47'E) and Cape Kanin".

Hi everyone , it's been awhile since I've posted or opened my channel to the public. I want to share a little trip I took during the past few weeks. It's been months of good fishing mostly everywhere but one fish I haven't tried for this year. Working with the tides, wind, current, swells and weather this was a (Now or Never) trip. Sadly to say no big fish on this trip but we caught enough mack's for family , friends and for the Dungeness Crab Opener around the corner. Fishing is always fun even if you don't catch. Being out on the water is very relaxing and that's what I needed. Kids are back in school I will be posting some vids in the winter months. Ultimate Big White Seabass Clips Ever - Watch Full Screen For Full Effect
This is a compilation of some of the larger white seabass I have on film. None of them were speared, although I clearly could have shot most of them. I've tried to use the clearest clips, being that the compression blurs the others so much. The last clip is undoubtedly the largest WSB ever captured on film as far as I know. The fish it's following is your typical 40 - 45 pounder. The big one has to be somewhere in the 90 - 100+ pound range. Never, ever shoot a fish from the surface. It is totally unsporting and as cowardly an act as you can perform. What a pathetic end it would have been to that glorious fishes life. If you can't take the dive without scaring the fish off, you don't deserve it. Freedive spearfishing is the most admirable and conservation minded way of hunting in the world... -

Many travellers quickly leave this vibrant and modernist metropolis on a search for a more traditional Moroccan experience, but admiring the impressive colonial architecture, Hispano-Moorish and art-deco outlook of the city centre is actually time well spent. Marrakesh, known as the "Red City" and probably the most prominent former imperial capital, will leave you with memories to cherish for life. Spend your days wandering through the lively souqs, admiring the old gates and defensive walls, see the Saadian Tombs, the remnants of the El Badi Palace and visit the Koutoubia Mosque with its 12th century minaret. However, when evening falls make sure to head back to Jamaa el-Fnaa, the largest square in Africa, as it fills up with steam-producing food stalls. Indulge in the bustling activity there, listen to Arabic story tellers, watch magicians and Chleuh dancers. Fez, once Morocco's capital, is another gorgeous imperial city. Get lost in its lovely labyrinth of narrow Medieval streets, enjoy its huge medina, see the beautiful city gates, the ancient University of Al-Karaouine and the Bou Inania Madrasa. Also, make sure to visit a traditional leather tanning factory. The city of Meknes is often called the "Versailles of Morocco" for its beauty. Its lovely Spanish-Moorish style centre is surrounded by tall city walls with impressive gates and you'll be able to see the 17th century blend of European and Islamic cultures even today.
For a more laid-back experience of city life, catch a sea breeze at Asilah or lovely Essaouira. The blue-washed town of Chefchaouen is an old time travellers' favourite and a great starting point to explore the impressive High Atlas Mountains. Climb Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North-Africa, passing lovely adobe villages and exploring the gorgeous Ourika and Amizmiz valleys on the way. The stunning panoramic view from the top will make it worth every bit of your effort to get there. Other praised hiking routes lead through the beautiful Ameln Valley in the Anti-Atlas and the wooded Rif Mountains in the very north.
Hop on a camel back for a trip through the golden Sahara sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Spend the night in a desert tent, under the incredibly starred sky. The Sahara is also accessible near the town of Zagora; it's easier to get to from Marrakech but doesn't have the imposing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Somewhat less easy to reach but therefor also less crowded are the dunes of Erg Chigaga near M'hamid. On your way to the desert, make sure not to miss the stunning Todra gorge near Tinghir. The ancient fortified city of Aït-Benhaddou is another must-see sight. Although rainstorms damage the mud-brick kasbahs time and again, this mostly abandoned village remains an impressive sight and has been the decor for a range of movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.

The first is the tourist hammam, where you can go and be pampered and scrubbed by an experienced staff member. As these are promoted only to tourists they are the more expensive option with pricing usually around DH 150 for a hammam. They can not be technically referred to as a proper hammam, but they are nonetheless enjoyable, especially for the timid. Your hotel can recommend a good one.
The second option is to visit a "popular" Hammam. Popular hammams are the places where the locals go. Ask the staff at your hotel where they would go.

The City of Temples was founded in 1296 and was once the capital of Lanna Thai, the 'Kingdom of a Million Rice Fields' and the centre of the first independent kingdom in Thailand, situated within the famous Golden Triangle.
Two hundred ninety steps lead up to the city's main landmark, the mountain temple of Wat Doi Suthep, on the northern edge of the city.
Chiang Mai Zoo was inaugurated in 1957 and today, it is the largest and finest zoo in Thailand and contains hundreds of varieties of animals.
The world famous village of Bo Sang is located nine kilometres from the city. It is where a fascinating range of parasols are manufactured, according to age old tradition, with silk, cotton and paper parasols made by hand and are decorated with various animal and floral motifs.
A visit to a training centre for elephants is a fascinating experience. The elephants perform what they have learned in the school and diligently carry out each of their trainer's commands.
Chiang Mai's evening market is well worth a visit. Although it has changed with the times, haggling is still the norm.

Spend your days wandering through the lively souqs, admiring the old gates and defensive walls, see the Saadian Tombs, the remnants of the El Badi Palace and visit the Koutoubia Mosque with its 12th century minaret. However, when evening falls make sure to head back to Jamaa el-Fnaa, the largest square in Africa, as it fills up with steam-producing food stalls. Indulge in the bustling activity there, listen to Arabic story tellers, watch magicians and Chleuh dancers. Fez, once Morocco's capital, is another gorgeous imperial city. Get lost in its lovely labyrinth of narrow Medieval streets, enjoy its huge medina, see the beautiful city gates, the ancient University of Al-Karaouine and the Bou Inania Madrasa. Also, make sure to visit a traditional leather tanning factory. The city of Meknes is often called the "Versailles of Morocco" for its beauty. Its lovely Spanish-Moorish style centre is surrounded by tall city walls with impressive gates and you'll be able to see the 17th century blend of European and Islamic cultures even today.
For a more laid-back experience of city life, catch a sea breeze at Asilah or lovely Essaouira. The blue-washed town of Chefchaouen is an old time travellers' favourite and a great starting point to explore the impressive High Atlas Mountains. Climb Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North-Africa, passing lovely adobe villages and exploring the gorgeous Ourika and Amizmiz valleys on the way. The stunning panoramic view from the top will make it worth every bit of your effort to get there. Other praised hiking routes lead through the beautiful Ameln Valley in the Anti-Atlas and the wooded Rif Mountains in the very north.
Hop on a camel back for a trip through the golden Sahara sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Spend the night in a desert tent, under the incredibly starred sky. The Sahara is also accessible near the town of Zagora; it's easier to get to from Marrakech but doesn't have the imposing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Somewhat less easy to reach but therefor also less crowded are the dunes of Erg Chigaga near M'hamid. On your way to the desert, make sure not to miss the stunning Todra gorge near Tinghir. The ancient fortified city of Aït-Benhaddou is another must-see sight. Although rainstorms damage the mud-brick kasbahs time and again, this mostly abandoned village remains an impressive sight and has been the decor for a range of movies, including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator.

There are two types of Hammam (steam baths) across Morocco.
The first is the tourist hammam, where you can go and be pampered and scrubbed by an experienced staff member. As these are promoted only to tourists they are the more expensive option with pricing usually around DH 150 for a hammam. They can not be technically referred to as a proper hammam, but they are nonetheless enjoyable, especially for the timid. Your hotel can recommend a good one.
The second option is to visit a "popular" Hammam. Popular hammams are the places where the locals go. Ask the staff at your hotel where they would go.

As quickly as it arrives, the fog vanishes, and the Druk Wangyal Ihakhang Temple suddenly appears out of nowhere. At the end of a valley, about fifteen kilometres from Paro, and located on a hill, is the once proud Drukgyal Dzong Fortress. At its foot, the beautiful village of Tsento nestling against protective rocks and surrounded by fertile fields which are brown or green according to the season of the year. Construction of this elaborate temple complex - built in honour of the god Vishnu - began in AD 879 during the reign of King Suryavarman II and was completed in 1191. It lay concealed for many years, however, until the site was discovered by Frenchman Henri Mahout in 1860. The central complex, Angkor Wat, features an elaborate, unmortared 66-metre (215-foot) central tower surrounded by four smaller towers. Stretching around the outside of the temple complex is an 800m-long (2625ft) bas-relief, the longest in the world. This is Cambodia's most iconic sight, and particularly popular at sunset among tour groups. The temple is so synonymous with the country that it dominates the national flag, and to visit it today is to marvel at the scale of its ambition, built as it was in the 12th century.

Another of the most distinctive Angkor temples, Bayon is characterised by a series of colossal stone faces, gazing out serenely in all four directions, as well as some painstakingly detailed bas-reliefs. Bayon was built at a similar time to Angkor Wat.

An abandoned French hill station in the south of the country, Bokor was built originally as a weekend sanctuary for settlers stuck in stifling Phnom Penh. Today, the hotel and casino complex stands as an eerily derelict reminder of days gone by.
