Won't Be Long

"Won't Be Long" (stylized at WON'T BE LONG) is a collaboration single by Japanese group Exile and Koda Kumi. It is a cover of the song originally sung by the Japanese band Da Bubble Gum Brothers on August 22, 1990. It debuted on #2 on Oricon and stayed there for the weekly ranking, bringing its monthly rank to #6.

Koda Kumi also released two solo versions on her album Black Cherry (2006): WON'T BE LONG [Red Cherry Version] and WON'T BE LONG [Black Cherry Version].

EXILE also had a different version on their album EXILE EVOLUTION (2007), this version featuring Japanese rapper NEVER LAND.

This song appeared on the Nintendo DS game Taiko no Tatsujin DS (太鼓の達人DS / Master Taiko DS) under its J-Pop section.

Other cover versions

In 1990s, Kwok Cheung Lee (李國祥) from Hong Kong covered this song with Cantonese and Mandarin-Chinese versions - "全為了你" (All for you) and "充滿光彩" (Fulfilled colors).

English modal verbs

The modal verbs of English are a small class of auxiliary verbs used mostly to express modality (properties such as possibility, obligation, etc.). They can be distinguished from other verbs by their defectiveness (they do not have participle or infinitive forms) and by the fact that they do not take the ending -(e)s in the third-person singular.

It Won't Be Long

"It Won't Be Long" is the opening track on With the Beatles, the Beatles' second UK album, and was the first original song recorded for it. Although credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was primarily a John Lennon composition, with Paul McCartney assisting with the lyrics and arrangement.

Composition

The chorus is a play on the words "be long" and "belong". The song features early Beatles' trademarks such as call-and-response yeah-yeahs and scaling guitar riffs. Typical also of this phase of Beatles' song writing is the melodramatic ending (similar to "She Loves You", which had just been recorded and was about to be released) where the music stops, allowing Lennon a brief solo vocal improvisation before the song finishes on a major seventh chord ("She Loves You" ends on a major sixth). There is an unusual middle eight—for what is, essentially, a rock and roll song—that uses chromatically descending chords.

John Lennon, in his last interview, told Playboy magazine that the song was the beginning of a wider audience for Beatles' music than the youthful throngs that had fervently followed them from their Liverpool clubbing days. "It was only after a critic for the [London] Times said we put 'Aeolian cadences' in 'It Won't Be Long' that the middle classes started listening to us. ... To this day, I have no idea what 'Aeolian cadences' are. They sound like exotic birds." Actually the critic, William Mann, said this about the song "Not a Second Time."Bob Dylan had much the same thing in mind when he wrote that Beatles' chords were "outrageous, just outrageous."

Jermaine Lamarr Cole (born January 28, 1985), better known by his stage name J. Cole, is an American hip hop recording artist and record producer. Cole first received recognition in 2007, following the release of his debut mixtape The Come Up. Shortly after the release of The Come Up in 2009, Cole was contacted by American rapper Jay Z and subsequently signed to his record label Roc Nation. In that same year, Cole released his second mixtape, The Warm Up, which was itself followed by Cole's third mixtape, Friday Night Lights, in 2010.

His debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, was released on September 27, 2011. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, Top R&B Albums and Top Rap Albums chart, selling more than 218,000 in its first week. He received a nomination for Best New Artist at the 54th Grammy Awards. Cole's second album, Born Sinner, was released on June 18, 2013. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200; however, Born Sinner later rose to number one, giving Cole his second number one on the chart. His third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, was released on December 9, 2014 and also debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, giving Cole his third number one album, which reached Platinum status. J. Cole became the first rapper to go platinum in 25 years without features.
