Panelists: Kamil Cebulski, Jodie Underwood, Maya, and Michelle Levell. Bob Bowdon is the Executive Director of Choice Media. Bob Bowdon has been a television producer, reporter and commentator for the past fifteen years. His varied career has seen him conducting in-depth on-camera interviews, anchoring newscasts and producing nationally-syndicated TV shows. He’s even appeared in satirical news sketches for the Onion News Network. The Cartel, Bowdon’s award-winning documentary, reveals the nature and extent of corruption in public education. Behind every dropout factory, we discover, lurks a powerful, entrenched and self-serving cartel. And the film puts a human face on those who suffer as a result. Ultimately, The Cartel is a call to action, not despair. The film profiles heroic administrators, teachers and students who defy the odds—particularly in schools of choice. Michelle Levell has been active in state-level public policy, particularly education issues, since moving to New Hampshire in 2005. She is the Director of School Choice for New Hampshire and has served on several diverse boards, including the Educational Choices Foundation, Liberty Harbor Academy, the New Hampshire Homeschooling Coalition, the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (NHLA), and the Pelham-Windham Razorbacks youth football and cheer organization. She continues to represent the NHLA through legislation analysis and testimony in Concord and earned their 2014 Activist of the Year award. Michelle provides significant social media support as a volunteer for the Network for Educational Opportunity, a nonprofit scholarship organization that helps needy families across the Granite State. She is also the Chair of the Women's Defense League of NH, a Second Amendment advocacy and education organization. Michelle has been married for 28 years and homeschooled her three children through eighth grade. Each one chose different high school options, including a boarding school, an online school, and a private day school. Michelle has experience and exposure to a wide range of educational areas including online learning, gifted, and twice-exceptional education. Prior to homeschooling, Michelle was a publication editor at Morningstar, Inc., an investment research firm in Chicago. Jody Underwood, Ph.D., is a founder and owner of Bardo Project and is one of the faces of Bardo Farm. She lives off the grid on a large property in New Hampshire with a varying number of people, depending on the season and the year, all learning back-to-basics skills. She moved to NH for the FSP in 2007 and is currently on the FSP board of directors. She focuses on K-12 education both professionally and as the chair of her local school board, which recently instituted school choice and included private schools as part of the choice (which is causing a stir in the state department of education). Her goal is to figure out ways to revolutionize education. Her bio would be incomplete without mentioning that two of her favorite things are dancing and teaching dance.
