Osraige, (pronunciation) also known as Osraighe or Ossory (modern Irish: Osraí), was a medieval Irish kingdom comprising most of present-day County Kilkenny and western County Laois. The home of the Osraige people, it existed from around the first century until the Norman invasion of Ireland in the 12th century. It was ruled by the Dál Birn dynasts, whose medieval descendants assumed the name Mac Giolla Phádraig. The name survives in the Catholic Diocese of Ossory, established in the 5th century, which continues to use roughly the same borders.
According to tradition, Osraige was founded by Óengus Osrithe in the 1st century and was originally within Leinster's polity. In the 5th century, the Corcu Loígde of Munster displaced the Dál Birn and brought Osraige under Munster's direct control. The Dál Birn returned to power in the 7th century, though Osraige remained nominally part of Munster until 859, when it achieved formal independence under the powerful king Cerball mac Dúnlainge. Osraige's rulers remained major players in Irish politics for the next three centuries, though they never vied for the High Kingship. In the early 12th century, dynastic infighting fragmented the kingdom, and it was re-adjoined to Leinster. The Normans under Strongbow invaded Ireland beginning in 1169, and most of Osraige collapsed under pressure from Norman leader William Marshal. The northern part of the kingdom, eventually known as Upper Ossory, survived intact under the hereditary lordship until the reign of King Henry VIII of England, when it was formally incorporated as a barony of the same name.

The Diocese of Ossory is a diocese in Ireland in the Ossory region, established in the fifth century with the mission of St. Ciarán of Saighir, the borders of which were permanently set at the Synod of Ráth Breasail om 1111 AD. Its territory corresponds approximately to the medieval Kingdom of Ossory. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ossory continues as an independent diocese within the Roman Catholic Church headed by the Bishop of Ossory; in the Church of Ireland, it is grouped with Cashel, Waterford, Lismore, Ferns and Leighlin in the Diocese of Ossory and Cashel. The Church of Ireland diocesan boundaries do not reflect Ossory's historical limits. Its primary patron saint is the first bishop of Ossory, Ciarán of Saighir; along with St. Cainnech of Aghaboe as a second patron.

Borris-in-Ossory (Irish: Buiríos Mór Osraí, meaning "Burgage of Osraige") is a village in west County Laois, Ireland. Bypassed by the M7 motorway on 28 May, 2010, the village is situated on the R445 road close to the County Tipperary border between the towns of Mountrath and Roscrea.
The village contains facilities such as a school, churches, community hall and convenience retail outlets and low to medium order services. Recent development includes the construction of new residential estates to the north-west of the village and to the south of the Main Street. The village centre comprises the Main Street and includes retail, commercial, institutional, educational and residential functions. Landmark buildings include St. Canice's church, Roman Catholic, the Ossory of Borris-in-Ossory, and former courthouse. The renovated O’Brien Hall has a communal and recreational role within the local community. As of 2011, the O'Brien hall is now used as a meeting place for the town's revived Youth Club, among other activities.

A time of relative peace for the newly independent four-times Maelor king, the main event that is occurring nearby is a rebellion from the Byzantine empire of the only province the empire has in Ireland, a small band of rebelling peasants rising up for independence against the huge monolith of Constantinople. Having recently been a vassal of that empire I can't help but root for them and hope they win. The fact that they'll be independent and thus able to be quickly conquered by me has no sway whatsoever in my support of their course. Not one bit.
In this video we see IE 071 Class locos numbers 072 & 085 on Tara Mines duties at Ossory Road & Ashbrook on the 26/9/16. First we see 085 hauling a un laden tara up to a signal check at Ossory Road. Then we see 085 roaring past Ashbrook with the un laden tara bound for Navan. Moments later we see 072 passing Ashbrook with a laden tara train bound for Dublin Port.
It's not my destiny
To be the one that you will lay with
So many reasons why
I have to go but want to stay here
Sometimes I want to taste
But then I don't know what I'm sayin'
You are the angel
And I am the one that is prayin'
There is another love
That I would rather be obeyin'
I see the ecstasy
And already I'm anticipating.
I feel a deeper peace
And that deeper peace is penetratin'
I got the magic in me
I am complete is what I'm sayin'
I'm flyin' up so high
My purple majesty displayin'
I've reached a higher place
That no one else can make a claim in
I'll take you there my friend
I'm reachin' out my hand so take it
We are the angels
And we are the one's that are prayin'
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Shalom
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
Peace, Peace
