Accept orders for pickup or shipping, create promo codes, and share your goods and services with integrated social media links and website buttons.
To get started, visit square-dot-com-forward-slash--login [to laptop] and
sign in with your username and password.
Click the icon in the top-left corner of the page.
Select “orders”,
Then “online setup” in the top-right corner of the screen.
To create an item, click “add new item”...
Upload an image...
And give it a name.
Set the item’s category,
Price points,
Modifiers, and taxes.
Select the fulfillment method - keeping in mind that pickup orders are typically food or beverage items with prep times of 2 hours or less, while items available for shipping can be fulfilled within 60 days.
Enter a description for your item, and click “save” to publish it online!
So now that you know how to publish your items online, let’s go over customizing the rest of your online store. Adding more detail will help your customers recognize, contact, and locate your business.
Click “online profile” on the left-hand side of the page.
Enter your business name...
Description...
Email address...
And phone number...
Then, fill out your business address,
Or indicate if it’s mobile.
If it’s mobile, your customers will see your location based on where your most recent transaction was taken.
If you sell items available for pickup, you must check “show my location online”
Next, select your time zone...
And fill out your business
hours...
Be sure to add images to appear prominently on your store and in your receipts.
Finally, add links to your twitter and facebook profiles...
As well as your website...
And click “save” when you’re done.
Now that your items and your profile are looking great, let’s take a look at some of the settings you can modify to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Click “store settings” on the left-hand side of the page.
Here, you can create a custom url for your online store, which you can easily share with customers on social media. Your business name is the default url, but you can change it at any time.
If you’re selling items for pickup, shipping, or both, you can add your prep time,
Pickup instructions,
And shipping costs.
Order notifications are sent via email every time you receive an order. Be sure you double-check to make sure they’re turned on.
Finally, enter your return policy, if applicable. Your return policy appears in your online store during checkout, and on receipts.
Then, click “save.”
Now that your online store is ready for prime time, the next step is letting your customers know about it!
Click “promote online” on the left-hand side of the page. Here, you can create a button or a menu to embed on your website.
Simply enter the text you’d like,
Choose a color,
And copy the embed code.
Click the button preview to see how it will appear to your customers. It should linked directly to your square online store.
So now that you’ve launched your online store and promoted it to your customers, what do you do when orders start coming in?
You’ll need to check your dashboard regularly for the status of each order.
You can accept orders in your square dashboard– or directly in the square register app.
simply open the navigation menu and select “orders.”
Once an order moves to open, fulfill the order and mark it
as “complete” or “ready” within the time that you’ve set.
