Gayonese

The Gayo people are an ethnic group living in the highlands of Aceh Province, Sumatra, Indonesia. Gayo means nice. The Gayo tribe has a population of 85,000 and they live predominantly in the mountains. Most Gayo live in three regencies in Aceh: 15-20% in Central Aceh, 15-20% in Bener Meriah, and 20-40% in Gayo Lues. Some of them live in several districts in other regencies, such as Serbejadi District, Simpang Jernih District in East Aceh Regency and Beutong District in Nagan Raya Regency. Their homeland lies in the Barisan Mountains which has elevations of over 12,000 feet and extends more than one thousand miles. The Gayonese language has four dialects: Lut, Serbejadi-Lukup, Lut and Luwes. Their language does not have a writing system, but folk tales, stories and poetry are passed down in oral tradition. The traditional house of the Gayo is called Umah.

Amaal Mallik

Amaal Malik (born 16 June 1990) is a music composer and playback singer in the Hindi film industry hailing from a musical family. He is the grandson of Sardar Malik; son of Daboo Malik and Jyothi Malik ; brother of singer Armaan Malik and nephew of music composer Anu Malik. Amaal started learning music at the age of 8 and took a liking towards the piano. He debuted in 2014 with Salman Khan's Jai Ho, following it up with the song "Naina" from Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan Starrer Khoobsurat.

Early life and background

Amaal studied in Jamnabai Narsee School and completed his graduation in Bachelor of Commerce from N. M. College in Mumbai. He studied piano and completed his course at Trinity College of Music (Western Classical, Jazz & Rock) under the guidance and training he received from teachers like Benny, Xavier Fernandes, Tony Pinto, Joy Bose.

He is also trained in Indian classical music informally under the tutelage of his grandfather Sri Sardar Malik.

Kapoor & Sons

Kapoor & Sons is an upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy directed by Shakun Batra and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. The film stars Siddharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan and Alia Bhatt in leading roles. The film is scheduled for release on March 18, 2016.

In earlier 2015, Karan Johar announced his next film which will be titled "Kapoor & Sons" which will feature Alia Bhatt as the lead actress, with Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. Johar said in an interview "We have a very stylish star cast".The movie revolves around two brothers played by Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan. Rishi Kapoor will be playing grandfather of the male leads. The first poster of the film was unveiled on 3 February 2016 after releasing the look of Rishi Kapoor from the movie.

The Korea Times Music Festival is an annual event held at the Hollywood Bowl in the United States.

Background

The festival was founded and organized by The Korea Times to give Korean Americans residing in southern California an opportunity to stay in touch with Korean culture. According to organizers, the annual event at the Hollywood Bowl is one of the largest music festivals held in Southern California and features some of the most well-known celebrities from South Korea's K-pop music industry.

Attendance figures

The inaugural concert in 2003 sold out 18,000 seats within 14 days and subsequent shows in the following years have also sold out; organizers noted that the number of non-Koreans attending the music festival has increased substantially. According to The Korea Times, about 95 percent of the tickets sold in 2008 were purchased by non-Koreans, with many fans coming from all around the United States as well as from other Asian and European countries to attend the concert.
