Community centre (PLC)
The Positive Living Centre (PLC) is a vibrant and safe environment for all people living with HIV. The PLC's main aim is to enhance the health and well-being of HIV positive people, through the provision of social, emotional, recreational, and skills-based services and activities. Many services are provided free-of-charge and are delivered by a range of skilled facilitators, staff, and volunteers.
Services and activities include the provision of brunch, lunch, dinner and pantry; health related activities such as exercise classes, yoga, massage, acupuncture and Pilates; and a Naturopath and vitamart service. Other services such as financial assistance, peer support and legal advice are provided at the PLC.
Please refer to the Newsletter below for a detailed listing of all services and activities provided at the PLC. To access services at the PLC clients must be HIV positive. The PLC is wheelchair-accessible, has car-parking and a range of resources available for client use.
Provided by volunteers working in the Melbourne area, the service runs in partnership with the Royal District Nursing Service.
We provide support, advice and information to people living with HIV who would like to talk to someone who understands their situation.
Complementary therapies are health care treatments that supplement conventional medicine.
