HIV/STI Prevention
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that weakens the immune system. It attacks and takes over immune cells.
STIs (sexually transmitted infections) are infections transmitted through close body contact.
If you choose to inject drugs, do so as safely as you can. Unsafe injecting risks blood-borne viruses such as HIV, hepatitis C and hepatitis B.
PEP is a one-month course of drugs that can prevent HIV infection if started within 72 hours of exposure.
