Lake Oroville, is a reservoir formed by the Oroville Dam impounding the Feather River, located in Butte County, northern California. The lake is situated 5 miles (8.0 km) northeast of the city of Oroville, within the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area, in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
At over 3,500,000 acre feet (4.3 km3), it is the second-largest reservoir in California, after Shasta Lake. The lake is fed by the North Fork, Middle Fork, West Branch and South Forks of the Feather River.
The lake has an unmarked 9,000 ft (2,700 m) diameter landing area for seaplanes. The lake is a popular nationally renowned bass fishing location, while coho salmon are stocked from the Feather River Fish Hatchery.
Prior to impoundment by the Oroville Dam, the current main basin of Lake Oroville was the location of the confluence of the North Fork Feather River with the Feather River (39°33′20″N 121°28′0″W / 39.55556°N 121.46667°W / 39.55556; -121.46667) and the now-inundated towns of Bidwell (39°33′25″N 121°27′56″W / 39.55694°N 121.46556°W / 39.55694; -121.46556) and Land (39°33′13″N 121°28′04″W / 39.55361°N 121.46778°W / 39.55361; -121.46778). Completed in 1968, Oroville Dam is an earthen dam and is the tallest dam located in the United States, measuring over 770 feet (235 m) high and 6,920 feet (2109 m) across. The dam was the largest earth-fill dam in the world until succeeded by Aswan High Dam in Egypt. It was built by the California Department of Water Resources as part of the California State Water Project. The dam houses the Edward Hyatt Powerplant, an underground hydro-electric plant that was completed in 1967. Six generators are used to provide a maximum generating capacity of 819 MW.
Oroville Dam is an earthfill embankment dam on the Feather River east of the city of Oroville, California in the United States. At 770 feet (230 m) high, it is the tallest dam in the U.S. and serves mainly for water supply, hydroelectricity generation and flood control. The dam impounds Lake Oroville, the second largest man-made lake in the state of California, capable of storing more than 3.5 million acre-feet (4.4 km3), and is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills east of the Sacramento Valley.
Built by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR), Oroville Dam is one of the key features of the California State Water Project (SWP), one of two major projects passed that set up California's statewide water system. Construction was initiated in 1961, and despite numerous difficulties encountered during its construction, including multiple floods and a major train wreck on the rail line used to transport materials to the dam site, the embankment was topped out in 1967 and the entire project was ready for use in 1968. The dam began to generate electricity after completion of the Edward Hyatt Pump-Generating Plant, then the country's largest underground power station.
A bird's-eye view is an elevated view of an object from above, with a perspective as though the observer were a bird, often used in the making of blueprints, floor plans and maps.
It can be an aerial photograph, but also a drawing. Before manned flight was common, the term "bird's eye" was used to distinguish views drawn from direct observation at high locations (for example a mountain or tower), from those constructed from an imagined (bird's) perspectives. Bird's eye views as a genre have existed since classical times. The last great flourishing of them was in the mid-to-late 19th century, when bird's eye view prints were popular in the United States and Europe.
The terms aerial view and aerial viewpoint are also sometimes used synonymous with bird's-eye view. The term aerial view can refer to any view from a great height, even at a wide angle, as for example when looking sideways from an airplane window or from a mountain top. Overhead view is fairly synonymous with bird's-eye view but tends to imply a less lofty vantage point than the latter term. For example, in computer and video games, an "overhead view" of a character or situation often places the vantage point only a few feet (a meter or two) above human height. See top-down perspective.

IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT A GREAT SPOT THEN CATCH AND RELEASE OR ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU CAN EAT!!! Great spot for a large amounts of 10-14 inch trout with 2 other rivers feeding into it within 1500 feet of each other. The fish shown in the video are only a fraction of what was there we saw several hundred trout in 2 pockets. There are Brown, Rainbow and brook trout but there might be other fish that I did not see. Location is MILSAP BAR CAMPGROUND IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA so just load it up on google maps and don't forget to check around for other good locations because things change so have a back up plan for your vacation trip. The water here was in the low 60s when I went in the summer so its great for quick dip but not good for sustained periods of swimming unless its very hot that day. Down ri...
Music By Micheal Hedges "Eleven Small Roaches." Here are a few pictures from on or near Pacific Northwest Trail the segment from Bonapart Mt. near Tonasket to Chopaka lake near Loomis passing near Havilla (one church service I beleave), through Oroville (most services, but clothing/sportinggoods store is currently closed until early 2017), and Nighthawk (no services). Detours include Bonaparte lookout, horse springs trail (a PNT shortcut), Driscoll island, Similkameen trail (a PNT shortcut, but it is closed from Inlow dam to Nighthawk so don't go where I go whatever you do!) and north of Chapaka lake. 8465 8 tree 6 I've been thinking about taking a little walk around Diyala valley. Let me know if you would be interested in covering part of my travel expenses.
heads up.... Lots of water coming down out of the hills.

Sampled from this vid by Charles Kos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66HZ2-oJ63Y Here we see a much higher form of engineering knowledge than that used by contemporary engineers. Water moves in Phi spirals as it flows. If we are going to "tame" water and dam it up, then this Phi based knowledge must be incorporated into the designs of our Dams to make them as structurally sound as possible and to give them the greatest longevity. Phi is the very key to the Universe, our "Electric Universe" that is. Everything from the elements to the Galaxies is spiraling according to Phi! It is "Phi time" we started copying Nature and working with her, like the pre-Egyptians (Atlanteans?) who built these Pyramids many millennia before the Egyptians arrived at these monuments! This information is not d...
