David Thomas Bingham (born 3 September 1970) is a Scottish football player and manager.

Career

Youth career

David played for U12s Oakley United B.C.(Fife), U13-14 Salveson B.C.(Edinburgh), U15-16 Crossford B.C. (Fife) and U18-21 Inverkeithing B.C. (Fife).

Playing

Bingham began his career at St Johnstone in 199,1 before moving to Scottish Second Division side Forfar Athletic in 1992. He played in just under 100 matches for the club, helping the side to win the Scottish Third Division in 1995. His performances attracted the attention of Dunfermline Athletic, and he was soon signed by then manager Bert Paton for £100,000. After 3 years with the Pars, Bingham moved to up-and-coming side Livingston in 1998. He scored 50 goals in 148 first team appearances for the Livi Lions, enjoying a great 2001–02 season, when he scored a bagful of goals in their first season in the Scottish Premier League. In 2003, he moved to Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he won the First Division title in his first season at the club. Instead of staying in the Scottish Premier League with Caley Thistle, he decided to drop down to the Third Division with Gretna, scoring 30 goals in 54 league games helping his side to race up the divisions in consecutive seasons. Bingham then joined Queen of the South on a six-month loan deal in July 2007, and returned to Gretna in December 2007, before being loaned out to Cowdenbeath in January 2008. Due to Gretna's financial difficulties towards the end of the 2007–08 season, Bingham was released from his contract along with all other staff members at the club.

David Bingham (born October 19, 1989) is an American soccer player who currently plays as a goalkeeper for the San Jose Earthquakes in Major League Soccer.

Career

Youth

David Bingham was born October 19, 1989 in Castro Valley, California to his parents Greg and Lisa Bingham. Bingham played for the youth club, Mustang United based out of Danville, California. In 2007, his club team made it to the Super- Y league National Championships. Bingham was a member of the Super-Y national team in 2006 and 2007. He had 13 shutouts and had a 0.60 goals against average during his senior year in high school. Bingham was a member of both the Bay Areas All-Area team as well as the all Tri-Valley team's first selection.

College

Bingham played his college career at the University of California, Berkeley between the years of 2008 and 2010. Bingham led the Golden Bears to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament in 2010, where they fell to eventual NCAA Champion Akron Zips on penalties. In 2009, Bingham earned himself All-Pac-10 second team honors and posted a 0.95 goals against average. The majority of his 2008 year was spent as backup to Stefan Frei.

David (commentator)

David (Greek: Δαυΐδ; fl. 6th century) was a Greek scholar and a commentator on Aristotle and Porphyry.

He may have come from Thessaly, but in later times he was confused with an Armenian of the same name (David Anhaght). He was a pupil of Olympiodorus in Alexandria in the late 6th century. His name suggests that he was a Christian.

Another anonymous commentary on Porphyry's Isagoge which was falsely ascribed to Elias (pseudo-Elias), was also falsely ascribed to David.

David of Bulgaria

David (Bulgarian: Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.

However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):

David, Chiriquí

David (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013.
