The Necromancer - Rush

The song is three songs combined into one epic:
00:00 - 4:12 Part I: Into the Darkness.
4:12 - 8:36 Part II: Under the Shadow.
8:36 - 12:32 Part III: Return of the Prince.
A necromancer is one who practices necromancy, a type of divination involving the summoning of Operative Spirits to discern information about the future. "The Necromancer" starts with heavy influence from J.R.R. Tolkien's literary mythology. The Necromancer was a pseudonym used by Tolkien in The Hobbit for the character Sauron. The song departs from the story of the book as Part III sees the return of By-Tor from Fly by Night, this time as a hero and not a villain. "Return of the Prince" was also released as a single in some countries. Also in the introductory prologue to the song, the "three travellers, men of Willowdale" is a reference to the band itself, an allusion to the Toronto suburb of Willowdale where Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson grew up and formed the first incarnation of the band.
The only other video with this song was in two parts, so now that YouTube allows up to 15 minutes, I thought I'd post it. Lyrics are for your convenience.
This is probably one of the most underrated songs of all time, definitely the most underrated Rush song. I've heard it hundreds of times and plan on listening to it hundreds of times more.

I basically took all the scenes relating to the Necromancer/Sauron in Jacksons Hobbit trilogy and made it into a movie of sorts. All scenes are in order. Begins in an Unexpected Journey and Goes through Desolation of Smaug and ends in Battle of Five armies.

Almost 2000 years after Saurons defeat at the Battle of the Last alliance, darkness has once again returned to ME. Follow Gandalf as he tries to uncover the truth of the Necromancer in Dol Guldur.

In this video we showcase one way to create a Necromancer Wizard in 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons.
A frequently requested class to cover the Necromancer is on a quest to become the master of undeath. This quest starts with more humble beginnings than one might expect. You won't set out with legions of skeletons and zombies right from the start, but rather will need to rely on skills and spells and the protection of your party members.
Channeling poison, frost and necrotic energy the Necromancer reaps life from the foes he slays, but he must still be careful not to attract too much attention. Necromancy is seen as a great evil by most and as such the Necromancer must be smart, stealthy and patient in order to survive. Their studies of the dark arts require a great deal of time and devotion before any great breakthroughs can occur.

We are just starting out our New Skyrim game using several mods. The most notable in this video is probably the Live another life mod and the Character Creation Overhaul Mod in this particular video. I also show a little of my own mod the PsiKotic's Necromancy Mod although it doesn't play a part in the game as of yet.

I am actually using the Skyrim Monster Mod version of my Necromancy mod in this video. However a lot of people complained that they were unable to summon the SkyMo undead and to be honest I haven't tested those particular summons out with the version of the Skyrim Monster Mod I am using so I won't know if they work until later on when I am able to get those spells and cast them. I don't feel like cheating with the console to get to that point yet so I can't say for sure those particular spells will work yet. But the base spells will still work with the SkyMo mod for sure.

Necromancy (/ˈnɛkrɵˌmænsi/) is a claimed form of magic involving communication with the deceased – either by summoning their spirit as an apparition or raising them bodily – for the purpose of divination, imparting the means to foretell future events or discover hidden knowledge. The term may sometimes be used in a more general sense to refer to black magic or witchcraft.
The word "necromancy" is adapted from Late Latin necromantia, itself borrowed from post-Classical Greek νεκρομαντεία (nekromanteía), a compound of Ancient Greek νεκρός (nekrós), "dead body", and μαντεία (manteía), "prophecy or divination"; this compound form was first used by Origen of Alexandria in the 3rd century CE. The Classical Greek term was ἡ νέκυια (nekyia), from the episode of the Odyssey in which Odysseus visits the realm of the dead, νεκυομαντεία in Hellenistic Greek, rendered as necyomantīa in Latin, and as necyomancy in 17th century English.
In medieval Latin and English texts the variant nigromantia, "nigromancy", is found. This form arose when writers of that era replaced the unfamiliar Greek word element necro- with the better-known Latin nigro-, "black". In Renaissance magic, nigromancy (as necromancy was often called during that period due to its presumed association with black magic) was classified foremost among seven "forbidden arts", all of them methods of divination.

We are just starting out our New Skyrim game using several mods. The most notable in this video is probably the Live another life mod and the Character Creation Overhaul Mod in this particular video. I also show a little of my own mod the PsiKotic's Necromancy Mod although it doesn't play a part in the game as of yet. PsiKotics Necromancy Mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/16394/? I am actually using the Skyrim Monster Mod version of my Necromancy mod in this video. However a lot of people complained that they were unable to summon the SkyMo undead and to be honest I haven't tested those particular summons out with the version of the Skyrim Monster Mod I am using so I won't know if they work until later on when I am able to get those spells and cast them. I don't feel like cheating with the console to get to that point yet so I can't say for sure those particular spells will work yet. But the base spells will still work with the SkyMo mod for sure. -

Act1: Could be slightly improved by better Shrine / WP / Tower positioning Act2: The maps were really bad. Especially the WP placements. Made some time up because of +10% Fr/w boots though. Act3: 2 deaths at very bad spots. Also very bad Flayer jungle monster spawn. Mephisto kindly enough dropped +1 bonespear offhand. Act4: Nothing too serious here... average Chaos + 1 time stuck in the River of Flame. - Therefor Skillshrine for Diablo. Act5: Slight trouble in World Stone lvl 2 + Wave 3 was very sloppy - Therefor Skillshrine for the ancients and almost no getting stuck anywhere else.

The song departs from the story of the book as Part III sees the return of By-Tor from Fly by Night, this time as a hero and not a villain. "Return of the Prince" was also released as a single in some countries. Also in the introductory prologue to the song, the "three travellers, men of Willowdale" is a reference to the band itself, an allusion to the Toronto suburb of Willowdale where Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson grew up and formed the first incarnation of the band.

In this video we showcase one way to create a Necromancer Wizard in 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons.
A frequently requested class to cover the Necromancer is on a quest to become the master of undeath. This quest starts with more humble beginnings than one might expect. You won't set out with legions of skeletons and zombies right from the start, but rather will need to rely on skills and spells and the protection of your party members.
Channeling poison, frost and necrotic energy the Necromancer reaps life from the foes he slays, but he must still be careful not to attract too much attention. Necromancy is seen as a great evil by most and as such the Necromancer must be smart, stealthy and patient in order to survive. Their studies of the dark arts require a great deal of time and devotion before any great breakthroughs can occur.

We are just starting out our New Skyrim game using several mods. The most notable in this video is probably the Live another life mod and the Character Creation Overhaul Mod in this particular video. I also show a little of my own mod the PsiKotic's Necromancy Mod although it doesn't play a part in the game as of yet.

I am actually using the Skyrim Monster Mod version of my Necromancy mod in this video. However a lot of people complained that they were unable to summon the SkyMo undead and to be honest I haven't tested those particular summons out with the version of the Skyrim Monster Mod I am using so I won't know if they work until later on when I am able to get those spells and cast them. I don't feel like cheating with the console to get to that point yet so I can't say for sure those particular spells will work yet. But the base spells will still work with the SkyMo mod for sure.

Act1: Could be slightly improved by better Shrine / WP / Tower positioning
Act2: The maps were really bad. Especially the WP placements. Made some time up because of +10% Fr/w boots though.
Act3: 2 deaths at very bad spots. Also very bad Flayer jungle monster spawn. Mephisto kindly enough dropped +1 bonespear offhand.
Act4: Nothing too serious here... average Chaos + 1 time stuck in the River of Flame. - Therefor Skillshrine for Diablo.
Act5: Slight trouble in World Stone lvl 2 + Wave 3 was very sloppy - Therefor Skillshrine for the ancients and almost no getting stuck anywhere else.
