G4-Tech TV's Icons. A show showcasing the movers and shakers of the game industry.
Before you go saying, "g4 sucks now. It was awesome when they made shows like this." you should know that g4 is totally capible of making shows like this again, but they'd need your help.
If you want to see shows like this again, turn on the channel. You don't have to watch what they are showing. You can keep it on in the background. The more support you show g4 with your wallet and attention, the more likely they are to be able to make these shows again. NOT watching them ensure they never can again.
So everyone please show your support. Go to www.g4tv.com, click on a few ads, turn on the channel, subscribe to their youtube channel, contact them with your thoughts, ETC. If you want the g4-techtv of old, give them the means to give it to you.

Monist (http://www.mobygames.com/game/apple2/moonmist) was a text adventure game published by Infocom in 1986 for the Apple ][. The player is a detective who travels to the Tresyillan castle in England to help a friend investigate the mystery behind a ghost. The game has 4 storylines (Blue, Red, Green, and Yellow) and I chose the Yellow version for this walkthrough. Hope you enjoy it!
The long play is done by Smartadventurer, a program that I wrote to automate the playing for vintage Apple ][ games. You can follow the project here: https://vinniethelung.wordpress.com/tag/smartadventurer/

'Lancaster' vintage Apple II game by Will Harvey (1983) that boasts smooth animation and entertaining gameplay. Here is the Mockingboard support version shown working on Apple IIGS with Mockingboard-K in slot 4. Sealed original acquired thru ebay $$! The original floppy disk had become warped with age so I removed the inner magnetic media and moved it to a good plastic sleeve. Also cleaned it with a gentle application of LCD cleaning fluid.
NB: The GS wouldn't get past the Silicon Valley Systems splashscreen until I tried pre-booting with ProDOS 8 v2.0.1 (then insert game disk and reboot with CTRL-APPLE-RESET). This technique also stops Willy Byte from hanging on GS/Mockingboard!

Matt Chat 262: Robert Woodhead on Wizardry and the Apple II
Robert Woodhead, co-designer of the Wizardry series, returns for one last segment to talk about the later days of his time at Sir-Tech. We also talk about his efforts at copy protection, the Mac, hacking the Apple II, and why he didn't like the 1541 (Commodore's disk drive). We wrap up with a discussion of David W. Bradley and Robert's thoughts on making a new Wizardry game.

A classic fighting game designed by Jordan Mechner who is best known for Prince of Persia. This is probably the first fighting game that allows you to run. It has realistic art and animations for that time. This side scrolling beat 'em up platform game has 1-on-1 elements in it. There are no jump kicks or special moves here. All you have is basic punches and kicks, walk, and run and that's it.
The object of the game is to rescue the princess Mariko kidnapped from evill villian name Akuma who destroyed your homeland. You the warrior trained in Karate, known as karateka must fight your way to rescue her and fight each opponents who get in your way. You only have one life. There are health recovery points by relaxing and not letting your opponent attacking you. Once all health points are gone, you or the opponent are defeated. Can be played with a PC joystick or on keyboards. You must fight the trained eagle or falcon by evil akuma before facing him in battle. Once you defeat Akuma, you must run to the princess to attribute to your sucess or walk in a stance where she will kick you in one blow and the game is over.
This game is originally designed for Apple II before being ported to other systems such as the NES and Atari ST. Atari ST is graphically the best version since it's the only 16-bit port of the game.
Tried recording this with fraps and didn't work so I used Camtasia.

As featured in Game Informer Magazine section of Early Innovators I decided to do this game.
You as a prisoner trapped and imprisoned in a Nazi Castle, must find a way out to escape alive. You defend yourself against Nazi Guards and Soldiers scattered around the castle. You shoot and kill them and search them for important items such as bullest, bulletfproof vest, keys, and grenades. Keys are used to unlock doors and chest. Unlocking chest holds important items needed to win the game such as uniforms, medals, food and beverage, bullets, keys, and grenades, etc. If you can make it out of the caslte alive, then you have won the game.
The world's first stealth-based game. Way before games like Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid came out.
Never played this one before since I've only played Wolfenstein 3D on IBM computers. This is the first and original wolfenstein game.
In case you want to know, here are the shortcut keys for this game:
U-Searching Gaurds (Whether they are (Dead or Alive)
K-Unlocks and Opens Doors and Chest
W-Up
S- Down
A-Left
D-Right
Not sure what buttons are used for shooting, and putting your weapon down as I used a PC Gamepad to play this game. If you know the key command for shooting and putting weapon down, please comment and I'll update the video description.
Note: Shit. I forgot to disable the Mouse Cursor in the video while I was recording this. What is done is done. I don't feel like playing this game again.

Khantun is traditionally a peaceful land, with no army or wars. Former leader Kaimen has turned to using his powers for evil, and the land has not withstood his aggression. The Holy Ones have been kidnapped, the land instead ruled by an evil group of monks. It is down to the player to vanquish Kaimen and restore the path of righteousness.
The game combines top-viewed role playing elements with combat action. The player explores the lands, but when encountering unfriendly people the player must fight, using swords or martial arts moves, as well as long-range missiles and magical powers.
What I think:
The fighting is quite fun, but the rest is useless montone and quite hard by-package.
