Set in the late 19th-century New Mexico, Samuel Jones (Tommy Lee Jones) reappears hoping to reconcile with his adult daughter Maggie Gilkeson (Cate Blanchett). She is unable to forgive him for abandoning the family and leaving her mother to a hard life and early death. This situation changes when Pesh-Chidin (Eric Schweig) and a dozen of his followers who have left the reservation pass through the area, ritualistically killing settlers and taking their daughters to be sold into the Mexican border. Among those captured is Maggie's eldest daughter, Lilly (Evan Rachel Wood). Maggie's rancher boyfriend Brake Baldwin (Aaron Eckhart) was among the settlers killed.

In our first dispatch about the case that has electrified Mexico, VICE News spoke with parents of the missing students, who are reluctant to accept the identification of one set of remains as evidence of a massacre of the other 42 students, as they continue to demand answers.

But the parents of the missing are firm on their doubts about what authorities have said. Relatives have always rejected the findings of the Mexican government's official investigation into the fate of 43 students who went missing in September 2014. Now, nearly a year later, an independent inquiry has also dismissed the account, citing deep flaws.
The government said the bodies were burned at a rubbish dump just hours after the group went missing in Iguala, south west Mexico on September 26, 2014.
But the Inter-American Court on Human Rights (IACHR) says there is no evidence of in…

Talking Heads: The Murder of the Young in Mexico
VICE News and the New York Review of Books have partnered to create Talking Heads, a series about the big issues of the day as seen by the Review's distinguished contributors.
In this episode, Alma Guillermoprieto discusses her article “Mexico: The Murder of the Young,” in which she follows the story of 43 students from a teacher's college in the Mexican state of Guerrero who disappeared last year at the hands of corrupt police and a local drug gang. She describes how the search for their bodies revealed that much of the state is a gravesite, and reflects on what distinguished this event from the many thousands of murders that preceded it.

Remains Could Be Those of 43 Missing Mexican Students
CNN - The 43 Mexican students who disappeared in southern Mexico in September were abducted by police on order of a local mayor, and are believed to have been turned over to a gang that killed them and burned their bodies before throwing some remains in a river, the nation's attorney general said Friday.
This is the conclusion that investigators have reached, Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said, though he cautioned that it cannot be known with certainty until DNA tests confirm the identities.
This will be a challenge, he said, as

This video report briefly discusses the missing 43 students in Mexico that were later found murdered by the drug cartel and which are part of a much bigger ongoing ritual, that the sacrificed 43 students represent.
The murder of the missing 43, serves to address a missing ritual observation, that refers back to the Georgia Guidestones block 2014 being reported upon in the media, on the same date that the OK City Satanic Black Ritual Mass took place, on Sept 21, 2014.
The missing 43 students, is but an introduction into a ritual mind control discussion, that continues the Bush Cabal and the Georgia Guidestones observations.

On September 26, students from the Teachers College of Ayotzinapa in Mexico en route to a protest in Iguala were intercepted by police forces. In the ensuing clash, six students were fatally shot and 43 were abducted. Investigations over the following weeks led to the startling allegations that the police had acted at the behest of the local mayor, and had turned over the abducted students to members of the Guerreros Unidos cartel. All 43 students are now feared dead.
The case has come to represent the negative feeling of the Mexican public toward the state of justice and the rule of law in Mexico. The events have now galvanized the survivors of the attack and the disappeared students' parents. Nationwide demonstrations have increased in intensity, and recently led to government buildings in the state of Guerrero to be set on fire.
VICE News travels to Guerrero, ground-zero for the protest movement that has erupted since the disappearance of the students. We meet with survivors of the Iguala police attack and parents of the missing students, accompany volunteer search parties, and watch as protests against the government and president reach boiling point.

A Body is Identified: Mexico's Disappeared Students (Dispatch 1)
Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News
On December 7, Mexico's Attorney General Jesús Murillo Karam confirmed that human remains found in a river in Cocula, Guerrero, were those of Alexander Mora, one of the missing 43 Ayotzinapa students.
In our first dispatch about the case that has electrified Mexico, VICE News spoke with parents of the missing students, who are reluctant to accept the identification of one set of remains as evidence of a massacre of the other 42 students, as they continue to demand answers.

A documentary will premier this week at Mexico City's Cineteca Nacional on the lives of the 43 missing Ayotzinapa students. Filmmaker Rafael Rangel says that the full-length documentary, "A Day in Ayotzinapa 43", featuring first hand accounts of the events and interviews with classmates and family members of the disappeared students, aims to boost awareness of another reality of Mexico that often remains hidden from the broader public. They tried to bury us. They didn't know we were seeds.
On September 26th, 2014, 43 students from the rural teacher-training school "Escuela Normal Rural Isidro Burgos de Ayotzinapa" were abducted by the Mexican police in Iguala and delivered to organised crime agents who, according to the authorities, murdered them and burned their bodies. Only the remains of Alexander Mora Venancio have been found, but all the other bodies have yet to be identified.
The student's parents as well as Mexican civil society and the international community continue to demand accountability from the Mexican government through mobilisations around the country and the world.
A group of students from different countries at the University for Peace did a performance to honour them and support the social movement against impunity in Mexico.
For more information on the 43 missing students we recommend this documentary by Vice:

Only the remains of Alexander Mora Venancio have been found, but all the other bodies have yet to be identified.
The student's parents as well as Mexican civil society and the international community continue to demand accountability from the Mexican government through mobilisations around the country and the world.
A group of students from different countries at the University for Peace did a performance to honour them and support the social movement against impunity in Mexico.

Parents Storm a Military Base: Mexico's Missing Students (Dispatch 2)
Four months after 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Normal School were forcefully disappeared by the local police and a drug gang, the Mexican authorities are ready to close the case. The Mexican federal prosecutor said that the version of the events in which the students were killed, incinerated in a dump, and their remains disposed of in a river is a "historical truth." But the parents of the missing are firm on their doubts about what authorities have said. They still believe that federal forces participated in the disappearance, and plan to continue escalating their protests until their sons are returned alive — even if it means confronting the army themselves.

Mexico: independent body concludes 43 missing students not cremated in Cocula
Relatives have always rejected the findings of the Mexican government's official investigation into the fate of 43 students who went missing in September 2014. Now, nearly a year later, an independent inquiry has also dismissed the account, citing deep flaws.
The government said the bodies were burned at a rubbish dump just hours after the group went missing in Iguala, south west Mexico on September 26, 2014.
But the Inter-American Court on Human Rights (IACHR) says there is no evidence of in…

Mexico: Protesters attack state congress over missing student teachers
Demonstrators attacked the state congress building in Chilpancingo, Sunday, in a protest marking seven months since the disappearance of 43 student teachers from the College of Ayotzinapa in Iguala.
VICE News sat down with Guillermoprieto to discuss how systemic corruption and an ill-conceived war on drugs has created an anarchic setting for indiscriminate violence in Mexico.

Remains of 43 Killed Students Found – River Side Video
Remains Could Be Those of 43 Missing Mexican Students
CNN - The 43 Mexican students who disappeared in southern Mexico in September were abducted by police on order of a local mayor, and are believed to have been turned over to a gang that killed them and burned their bodies before throwing some remains in a river, the nation's attorney general said Friday.
This is the conclusion that investigators have reached, Attorney General Jesus Murillo Karam said, though he cautioned that it cannot be known with certainty until DNA tests confirm the identities.
This will be a challenge, he said, as the badly burned fragments make it difficult to extract DNA.

Protesters took to the streets of the Mexican town of Iguala Sunday, a day after officials said that a hidden mass grave with several burial pits was found outside the town. The mass grave was discovered roughly a week after 43 students disappeared following clashes with police.
Officials have not revealed how many bodies were discovered or if the remains are the missing students. The site is said to contain at least six separate pits. At least 22 police officers are facing charges in the state of Guerrero, in which Iguala is located, in connection with the missing students.
About 100 soldiers, marines and federal and state police have cordoned off the area where the mass grave was discovered.

Agua azul waterfalls.- This wonder is located in the beautiful state of Chiapas right in the middle of the Lacandon Jungle. If you ever go to the Mayan archeological site “Palenque” you can’t miss this natural beauty. Its turquoise color is caused by carbonated salts and minerals. Just to throw an interested fact, Chiapas has 9 different ecosystems, it is not purely jungle. It is amazing when you are driving up a mountain you can see the warm jungle transforming into cold woods.

Known as the Pearl Of The Pacific, Acapulco is a world famous holiday resort of the rich and famous where luxury liners dock each day and endless golden sands beckon a swim under the Caribbean sun. Each evening, the famous cliff jumpers of Acapulco congregate when, from a height of 42 metres, they jump fearlessly from the top of the La Quebrada Cliff into the narrow bay below. In the legendary ruins of Palenque, numerous monuments of the Maya culture can be found such as a palace, and several pyramids and temples. From the air, there is a unique view of the lush growth of the impenetrable forests around Palenque, and of Mexico’s most beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul. Chichen Itza is thought to have been built by the Mayas around 450 AD and over 500 years later the fighting TOLTEKEN took over the deserted city, which led to two hundred years of prosperity. Located in the north, Tequila is situated at the foot of the likewise named volcano and is world famous because it is here that the Mexican national drink is produced. But Mexico is much more than a drink…it is a feast for all the senses!

The city's fascinating history is reflected in both its art and architecture with age old charm, Indian roots and elegant buildings.
Until the Spanish conquest, the Templo Mayor was the setting of coronations and human sacrifice. The remains of the walls within which thousands of priests once lived are only a few steps from the buildings of the country's former Spanish conquerors.
Construction of the country's largest cathedral, the Catedral Metropolitana, took 250 years. The lower section is quite plain but the upper section is of Baroque and Neo-Classical design. Spanish administrative buildings and private houses in the heart of the city have replaced the temples of ancient Mexico and has resulted in a synthesis of both old and new architectural styles.
An elevator ascends the Torre Latino America, an earthquake-proof tower that was built in 1958. A viewing platform provides a wonderful panoramic view that includes the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Juárez Monument.
Located 50 kilometres from Mexico City are the ancient remains of Teotihuacan that was once a centre of trade, art and ritual ceremonies. At its zenith in 500 A.D., it was as large as Rome and its Sun Pyramid is one of the greatest building achievements of ancient times. Travel video about destination Mexico City in Mexico.
Mexico City is a vivid metropolis and cosmopolitan city situated on a plateau in the central highlands at an altitude of 2, 286 metres, where the food is spicy and the Tequila flows freely!
In 1988 ,Unesco attributed this complex as being 'one of the most important cultural centres of mankind'.
The author Pablo Neruda once said: 'No other land on Earth possesses such remarkable human profoundness than Mexico and its inhabitants'. For surprises, sights and history galore, Mexico has to be at the top of the list!

Mexico Riviera (Mexico) Vacation Travel Wild Video Guide
Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula may well be where the world as we know it began. It’s here that a meteor 10 kilometres across impacted with the earth 65 million years ago; The meteor hit in a shallow ocean bringing about a change in climate that caused the extinction of two thirds of the Earths species including all the Dinosaurs.

Travel Tips: 7 Places in Mexico you did not know even existed and other travel tips
Travel Tips: 7 Places in Mexico you did not know even existed and other travel tips.
Marieta Islands.- Located just a few minutes boat ride away, called by locals “Hidden Beach”. Catch your ride from Punta Mita, a town a few minutes away from Puerto Vallarta. Only look for authorized tours, they are the only one allowed to get there. Actually the boats do not take all the way. Getting there is a little adventure. Once you get out the boat, you have to swim through a tunnel, the price is the amazing “hidden beach” that is breathtaking.
Sumidero Canyon.- This is another wonder from the state of Chiapas. It is just minutes away from Tuxtla Gutierrez, the main city and capital for the region, and main airport. So as soon as you drop off the plane you can go directly to this magnificent site.
Montebello Lakes.- Within the Montebello Lakes National Park, also located in Chiapas you can find a natural complex composed of beautiful turquoise coloured lakes that is not considered a natural paradise for the color alone, but the entire surroundings. The beautiful lakes are just the cherry on the pie.
Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary.- This site is located in the state of Michoacan. It is a protected ecosystem in the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve. Every year millions of Monarch butterflies make a stop in their annual migration this place, offering a natural spectacle like no other when millions of these creatures cover trees and the rest of the landscape and dye the view in its beautiful orange.
The Cave of Swallows.- It is 376m (1233 ft) deep. This is considered by many the most beautiful vertical cave in the world. As time goes by and more people know of this place, skydivers are some of the tourism attracted to this place. It is the home of a bird species known as swifts often confused with swallows. This is where this place gets its name. To descend down this cave means getting surrounded in a world with different rules, especially if you get to see the magnificent sunrise when thousands of swifts fly out the cave in a spiral manner, spectacular view.
Las Pozas Garden of Xilitla. - This man made wonder is found in the state of San Luis Potosi in the middle of waterfalls and natural pool. Many say this surreal garden evokes the Garden of Eden. Although this place may look like the ruins of some ancient civilization, it is actually the art work of the eccentric British millionaire, Edward James. He actually arrives to Mexico with the idea of building a Garden of Eden and handpicked himself this spot near the town of Xilitla, San Luis Potosi.

In this extra scene, VICE News travels with protesting students to the Palo Blanco toll booths connecting Chilpancingo and Acapulco, as they commandeer the booths in order to raise funds for future protests.

Travel video about destination Mexico.
Mexico, land of the Maya and Aztec, temples and beaches and with a population of twenty-six million the bubbling metropolis of Mexico City is a maze of streets, flat roofs, skyscrapers and parks. Earthquakes, floods and civil wars created this ‘City Of The Aztecs’. Templo Mayor, the main temple of the Aztecs, lies in the centre of the city, in the large main square, Zocalo. The magnificent Catedral Metropolitana with its massive dimensions and fine stone masonry dominates the square, with equal prominence being given to the Palacinio Nacional, governmental seat of the Mexican President. In 1519, when the Spanish conquerors reached Tenochtitlan, capital of the Aztec kingdom, they discovered a lagoon paradise with floating gardens, Xochimilco, a labyrinth of lakes and canals, which today can be explored by boat.

Travel video about destination Mexico City in Mexico.
Mexico City is a vivid metropolis and cosmopolitan city situated on a plateau in the central highlands at an altitude of 2, 286 metres, where the food is spicy and the Tequila flows freely!
