Why The Special Forces Train in Filipino Martial Arts | FMA: Kali, Arnis, Escrima
Whether you call it
Kali,
Arnis or Escrima the
Filipino Martial Arts has been adopted by
International Special Forces Units, depicted in blockbuster movies and is becoming more prevalent in the civilian sector. It has withstood the test of time and is recently experiencing a renaissance through high profile ambassadors who have taken
FMA away from the backyard and into the limelight.
In this historical interview three of its premiere global ambassadors meet for the first time to discuss the current state of FMA.
The interview, conducted by GN was an impromptu gathering that took place in
Atlanta, Georgia during BladeShow
2015 and has become the platform to launch future collaborations between
Jared Wihongi of
Pekiti Tirsia, Ray Dionaldo of
FCS and
Doug Marcaida of Marcaida Kali.
