Antonov Airlines is a Ukrainian cargo airline, a division of the Antonov aviation company. It operates international charter services in the world of oversized cargo market. Its main base is Gostomel Airport near Kiev. The company owns an Antonov An-225, the world's largest operational cargo aircraft and the only one completed. The airline was established and started operations in 1989 through a marketing agent agreement with Air Foyle to market Antonov An-124 Ruslan cargo charters worldwide. This relationship ended in June 2006. The same month Antonov Airlines and another large player in the global specialty air cargo business, Volga-Dnepr Airlines (Russia), established a joint venture company — Ruslan International — where each company has a 50% stake. The joint operation of the Ukrainian and Russian fleets allows them to share the combined An-124-100 commercial fleet of seventeen aircraft (seven of which belong to Antonov Airlines) and the only Antonov An-225 in service worldwide.

It is powered by six turbofan engines and is the longest and heaviest airplane ever built with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes. It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service. The single example built has the Ukrainian civil registration UR-82060. A second airframe was partially built; its completion was halted.
The Antonov An-225, initially developed for the task of transporting the Buran spaceplane, was an enlargement of the successful Antonov An-124. The first and only An-225 was completed in 1988. After successfully fulfilling its Soviet military missions, it was mothballed for eight years. It was then refurbished and re-introduced, and is in commercial operation with Antonov Airlines carrying oversized payloads. The airlifter holds the absolute world records for an airlifted single item payload of 189,980 kilograms (418,834 pounds), and an airlifted total payload of 253,820 kilograms (559,577 pounds). It has also transported a payload of 247,000 kilograms (545,000 pounds) on a commercial flight.

The pilot made very impressive visual runway inspection by doing a "Fly pass" or "Low pass" followed by soft landing at Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport. This cargo plane seems so huge but so Maneuverable
Antonov An-225 Mriya which has Wingspan of 88.4 m (nearly nine Double decker Buses) and Empty weight is 285,000 kg flew here from Kiev Ukraine. This is really very rare visitor. I'm never saw this amazing aircraft before , I want to share it with you. Great experience to see her very close. She's 27 years old, still doing her job. Hostomel, also known as Gostomel (Ukrainian: Гостомель, Hostomel' ; Russian: Гостомель, Gostomel' ), is a town in Ukraine's Kiev Oblast, north-western suburb to the capital city of Kiev.

What a Monster ! Finally for the first time I've filmed this spectacular World largest jumbo jet. Magnificent airplane. Huge airlift larger then Airbus A380 It's been filmed in 4K resolution. The pilot made very impressive visual runway inspection by doing a "Fly pass" or "Low pass" followed by soft landing at Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport. This cargo plane seems so huge but so Maneuverable Antonov An-225 Mriya which has Wingspan of 88.4 m (nearly nine Double decker Buses) and Empty weight is 285,000 kg flew here from Kiev Ukraine. This is really very rare visitor. I'm never saw this amazing aircraft before , I want to share it with you. Great experience to see her very close. She's 27 years old, still doing her job. The An-225's name, Mriya (Мрiя) means "Dream" (Inspiration) in Ukrainian. It is powered by six turbofan engines and is the longest and heaviest airplane ever built with a maximum takeoff weight of 640 tonnes. It also has the largest wingspan of any aircraft in operational service. The single example built has the Ukrainian civil registration UR-82060. A second airframe was partially built; its completion was halted because of lack of funding and interest.

I'm never saw this amazing aircraft before , I want to share it with you. Great experience to see her very close. She's 27 years old, still doing her job. It is Ukraine's largest airport, serving 65% (down from more than 70% in 2012) of the country's passenger air traffic (including all its intercontinental flights and a majority of international flights). Airport is one of three airports that serve Kiev along with the smaller Zhulyany Airport and Gostomel Airport, a cargo facility used primarily by Antonov.
IFR approach carried out by evening in the perfect autumn meteo conditions. Video ends on the taxiway 11 before RW 18R.

Before I continue with my normal routine of describing the background of the video, this time I want to start by saying 'Thank You', to two YouTubers, who helped making this video possible! The first one is πlot.Tv (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq0laajk5DGW1GcYDryNd7A), who enabled all the air-to-air footage by taking me with him on this flight to Leipzig/Halle airport (LEJ/EDDP) and for providing video material. The second one is jahuuhuuhuu (https://www.youtube.com/user/jahuuhuuhuu), who provided nearly all of the material shot from the ground. Boys, you're awesome!
Now, what can I say about all this? Antonov's An-225 "Mriya" is - as many of you probably know - the largest cargo aircraft on this planet. It was built as a transporter for the then Soviet "Buran" reusable space programme. The plane you can see in the video, is the only flying An-225 today (2015)! Knowing all this, it's easy to imagine that the arrival of this aircraft is a big event on any airport in the world (apart from its home base Kiev Gostomel (GML/UKKM) maybe). At Leipzig/Halle airport we see it relatively often, but as you can see in the video, it still attracts large numbers of fans!
This time (November 12th, 2015) the Antonov's visit to LEJ was known long in advance and so it wasn't only plane spotters who went there to have a look at the big plane, but also people who just wanted to see the An-225 with their own eyes once in their lives and even fans from Poland and the Czech Republic came!

Nun, was kann ich zum Inhalt des Videos sagen? Die An-225 "Mrija" des ukrainischen Herstellers Antonow ist - wie sicher bereits viele von euch wissen - das größte Transportflugzeug auf diesem Planeten und wurde ursprünglich als Transporter für das damals sowjetische Raumfahrtprogramm "Buran" entwickelt. Die im Video gezeigte Maschine ist heute (2015) die einzige fliegende An-225!
Wenn man all das weiß, ist es leicht zu verstehen, dass die Ankunft dieses Flugzeuges an jedem Flughafen ein großes Ereignis darstellt (mit Ausnahme seiner Basis Kiew Gostomel (GML/UKKM) vielleicht). Am Flughafen Leipzig/Halle sehen wir es vergleichsweise oft, aber wie man im Video sieht, lockt es trotzdem noch immer Massen an Fans an!
Diesmal (12.11.2015) war der Besuch der Antonow lange im Voraus bekannt und daher waren es nicht nur Planespotter, die kamen, sondern auch Menschen, die die An-225 einmal im Leben mit eigenen Augen sehen wollten und sogar Fans aus Polen und Tschechien waren da!

Before I continue with my normal routine of describing the background of the video, this time I want to start by saying 'Thank You', to two YouTubers, who helped making this video possible! The first one is πlot.Tv (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCq0laajk5DGW1GcYDryNd7A), who enabled all the air-to-air footage by taking me with him on this flight to Leipzig/Halle airport (LEJ/EDDP) and for providing video material. The second one is jahuuhuuhuu (https://www.youtube.com/user/jahuuhuuhuu), who provided nearly all of the material shot from the ground. Boys, you're awesome!
Now, what can I say about all this? Antonov's An-225 "Mriya" is - as many of you probably know - the largest cargo aircraft on this planet. It was built as a transporter for the then Soviet "Buran" reusable space programme. The plane you can see in the video, is the only flying An-225 today (2015)! Knowing all this, it's easy to imagine that the arrival of this aircraft is a big event on any airport in the world (apart from its home base Kiev Gostomel (GML/UKKM) maybe). At Leipzig/Halle airport we see it relatively often, but as you can see in the video, it still attracts large numbers of fans!
This time (November 12th, 2015) the Antonov's visit to LEJ was known long in advance and so it wasn't only plane spotters who went there to have a look at the big plane, but also people who just wanted to see the An-225 with their own eyes once in their lives and even fans from Poland and the Czech Republic came!
