Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Gomel, Belarus.
Gomel is the second largest city in Belarus. The most interesting sight of the city is a unique monument of the 18-19th cents. - the palace and park ensemble including the palace of aristocrats and magnates Rumyantsevs- Packiewiczes, St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, a chapel of the Princes Packiewiczes and an ancient park. The central streets of Gomel also have several buildings of the 19-20 cents., which makes the city scenery originally picturesque.
Built from 1809 to 1819, the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Gomel houses the remains of Count N.P. Rumiantsev (son of Field Marshal P.A. Rumiantsev), who opened a seminary in Gomel in 1815.

Прогулка под дождем в гомельском парке. Сырой, мокрый, дождливый продрызглый и холодный день в гомельском парке, чувствуется, - что пришла настоящая осень. Небольшая прогулка в дворцово парковом ансамбле города Гомеля - осенью, когда начинаются идти проливные дожди, становиться сыро, мокро и зябко, а желтые листья продолжают свой вальс, кружась в падении на ветру.
Это видео будет интересно любителям гулять под дождем под зонтиком. День идет осенний дождь, мокрый парк принимают в своих объятьях идущих под зонтами - одиноких посетителей гомельского парка, капли дождя торопятся упасть на землю. Мокрые листья с деревьев падают в отражающие дождливое небо - лужи. It has a population of 515,325 (2013 census) and its area is 135.3 km2.
History
Origin of the name
There are at least six versions of the origin of the city’s name. One of the best known is that the name is derived from the name of the Gomeyuk stream, which flowed into the Sozh river near the foot of the hill where the first settlement was founded. Other Belarusian cities’ names are formed on these lines: for example, Minsk’s name is derived from the river Menka, Polotsk’s – from the Palata river, Vitebsk’s – from the Vitba river. In historical sources from 1142 to the 16th century Gomel is named as Gom', Gomye, Gomiy, Gomey, Gomyi. These forms are tentatively explained as derivatives of an unattested *gomŭ of uncertain meaning. The modern form of the city’s name has been used only since the 16th–17th centuries.

Gomel Palace
The Rumyantsev-Paskevich Residence is the main place of historical importance in the city of Gomel, Belarus. The grounds of the residence stretch for 800 meters along the steep right bank of the Sozh River. An image of the residence is featured on the Belarusian 20,000-ruble bill.
The two-storey palace of Field Marshal Pyotr Rumyantsev was built between 1777 and 1796 to a Neoclassical design attributed to Ivan Starov. The palace replaced the ruined castle of Gomel's previous owner, Michael Frederick Czartoryski. The central part is surmounted by a square belvedere with a wide flat dome. The six-columned Corinthian portico faces an extensive English park. The main portico is placed on a high platform and is supported by four Corinthian columns.
After Pyotr Rumyantsev's death in 1796, the grounds were slowly improved by his son Nicholas (1754-1826). His brother Sergei was the next owner. He was never interested in country housekeeping and promptly sold the palace to the crown (1834). Gomel was immediately purchased by another Field Marshal, Ivan Paskevich, who had both the palace and the park substantially renovated. He employed architect Adam Idźkowski to add a four-storey tower and a three-storey wing to the existing structure.

Gomel is the second largest city in Belarus. The most interesting sight of the city is a unique monument of the 18-19th cents. - the palace and park ensemble including the palace of aristocrats and magnates Rumyantsevs- Packiewiczes, St. Peter and Paul Cathedral, a chapel of the Princes Packiewiczes and an ancient park. The central streets of Gomel also have several buildings of the 19-20 cents., which makes the city scenery originally picturesque.
Built from 1809 to 1819, the St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Gomel houses the remains of Count N.P. Rumiantsev (son of Field Marshal P.A. Rumiantsev), who opened a seminary in Gomel in 1815.
The Orthodox Church, also officially called the Orthodox Catholic Church and commonly referred to as the Eastern Orthodox Church

Прогулка под дождем в гомельском парке. Сырой, мокрый, дождливый продрызглый и холодный день в гомельском парке, чувствуется, - что пришла настоящая осень. Небольшая прогулка в дворцово парковом ансамбле города Гомеля - осенью, когда начинаются идти проливные дожди, становиться сыро, мокро и зябко, а желтые листья продолжают свой вальс, кружась в падении на ветру.
Это видео будет интересно любителям гулять под дождем под зонтиком. День идет осенний дождь, мокрый парк принимают в своих объятьях идущих под зонтами - одиноких посетителей гомельского парка, капли дождя торопятся упасть на землю. This is the result of a one week trip to Minsk. My Vlog includes footage from nightclubs, Belarusian girls, the beautiful city of Minsk, police brutality, the surveillance State, world war II museum, medieval swordfights and more.
Minsk is a fantastic picturesque city with Europe's most beautiful girls. It is safe and easy to navigate from one part of the city to the next using the metro system. I also found Belorussians to be most welcoming and friendly with tourists. The exception is people who work for the government. They are mean and ridiculously rude. Stay away from them at all costs.
To travel to Minsk you must obtain an invitation to the country which a travel agency can help you with. Apartments in cities around Belarus are pricier than in her neighboring countries. I recommend cheap hotels that you can book upon arrival.
For food I had a hard time in most restaurants. Go to the buffets as they are better. i know that the country has a terrible reputation. I do feel it is rather undeserved though. Yes there is repression but it did at least appear a safe country to live in without starving people.
I filmed this Vlog over a couple of days and did my best to give a realistic impression of what it's like for a tourist to visit Minsk and Belarus. I also filmed a little around the city of Gomel but didn't really come across anything of major significance.
I travelled through the country by train. The trains were old and Soviet but comfortable and extremely cheap. I highly recommend going by rail when traveling anywhere within the country of Belarus.
The nightclubs in Minsk are amongst the best in all of Europe. Belorussian girls are absolutely stunning, extremely fit, beautiful and very friendly. I recommend anyone, backpackers and business travelers alike making their way through Europe to visit the country.
