20th Century Fox dropped a new TV spot for Independence Day: Resurgence, which offers a look at the return of
Brent Spiner‘s character he originated in the
1996 blockbuster. Though the new movie did away with
Will Smith’s character, the rest of the cast returns in the next epic chapter that sees the survivors from the original movie recovering alien technology and collaborating on an immense defense program to protect the
Earth from another invasion.
Last September a Sicario sequel was announced by
Lionsgate with writer
Taylor Sheridan and producers
Molly Smith and
Trent and
Thad Luckinbill returning to produce though no more news was released at that time. Now, in a recent interview with
THR, producer Trent Luckinbill revealed a new draft of the script was turned in with the whole cast of the movie represented in the story with original director

Columbia Pictures movie will be set in the
21st century with a new script from
Arash Amel.
