Kenneth Murray or Ken Murray may refer to:
Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969), born Frances Ethel Gumm, was an American singer, actress, and vaudevillian. She was renowned for her contralto vocals and attained international stardom which continued throughout a career that spanned more than 40 years as an actress in musical and dramatic roles, as a recording artist, and on concert stages. Respected for her versatility, she received a Juvenile Academy Award and won a Golden Globe Award as well as a Special Tony Award. She was the first woman to win a Grammy for Album of the Year.
Garland was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the remake of A Star Is Born and for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the 1961 film Judgment at Nuremberg. She remains the youngest recipient (at 39 years of age) of the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in the motion picture industry.
After appearing in vaudeville with her two older sisters, Garland was signed to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as a teenager. There, she made more than two dozen films, including nine with Mickey Rooney, and 1939's The Wizard of Oz. After 15 years, she was released from the studio and then gained new success through record-breaking concert appearances, including a return to acting, beginning with critically acclaimed performances.
The Judy Garland Show was an American musical variety television series that aired on CBS on Sunday nights during the 1963-1964 television season. Despite a sometimes stormy relationship with Judy Garland, CBS had found success with several television specials featuring the star. Garland, who for years had been reluctant to commit to a weekly series, saw the show as her best chance to pull herself out of severe financial difficulties.
Production difficulties beset the series almost from the beginning. The series had three different producers in the course of its 26 episodes and went through a number of other key personnel changes. With the change in producers also came changes to the show's format, which started as comedy/variety but switched to an almost purely concert format.
While Garland herself was popular with critics, the initial variety format and her co-star, Jerry Van Dyke, were not. The show competed with Bonanza, then the fourth most popular program on television, and consistently performed poorly in the ratings. Although fans rallied in an attempt to save the show, CBS cancelled it after a single season.

Thanks for restoring my hacked audio on this, whomever! From my favorite talkie, 20's personality Ken Murray performs a hot 20s number in his earliest surviving appearance! Gus Arnheim's orchestra gives the music as he puts over a song as he did in Vaudeville, having already amused audiences for three years as a popular comedian and master of ceremonies on the RKO Vaudeville circuit . Gus Arnheims Orchestra is "up in the clouds" in a clever stage set that echoed the latest air travel craze to catch the publics fancy: the arrival in New York of the enormous German dirigible, the Graf Zeppelin, the latest triumph in progress and modern engineering. Like a giant silvery cigar, It floated over America all through August with daily radio reports of its lumbering progress, thrilling Amer...

Here is a striking video of the jailhouse interview of Paul Bernardo, perpetrator of what his victims' lawyer called "the most sensational crime in Canadian history." Bernardo and his wife, Karla Homolka, became notorious for the abduction, rape and murder of two Ontario school girls, 14-year-old Leslie Mahaffy and 15-year-old Kristen French. Bernardo also raped 20 other women, known as the "Scarborough rapist" attacks, after the area of Toronto where he preyed on women. Extracts from the interview were filed in court in connection with an application by a London, Ont., man who was convicted of an attack on a 15-year-old girl in 1989 to which Bernardo has now confessed to committing. The wrongful conviction was a story I broke in the National Post on April 24, 2008, an investigation I am ...

Ken Livingstone thinks all the terror attacks around the world are our fault. He was also "appalled" that Osama bin Laden had been shot dead by US Special forces, saying that the values of a western democracy would have been best demonstrated if Bin Laden had been put on trial and his words challenged. Douglas Murray disagrees. "I got a very warm reception when I explained to the London audience the very important point of Livingstone, which is that in the last thirty years only two groups of people have tried to murder them - Irish republican extremists and Islamist extremists. They have nothing in common other than mass murder and the support of Ken Livingstone" - Douglas Murray. Apologies for the shaky camera. The ex-Mayor ensured no official camera footage of this debate came out.
BBC isses an apology to Douglas Murray, accepting his comment "we need less islam" and that he is not a hate preacher for saying so. "On Monday’s BBC Daily Politics, a spokesperson for the Muslim Council of Britain – Miqdaad Versi – chose to leap right on in and name me as a hate preacher who should not be allowed to speak in public. I am quite certain that there is no score-settling going on here. I’m sure that this statement has nothing to do with the MCB’s ongoing bitterness about being barred from engagement with the British government – a stance which has held since one of the MCB’s leaders signed a declaration approving of attack on British ships. And I’m sure that Miqdaad’s strange equation of me with the jailed preacher Anjem Choudary has nothing to do with my previous calling ...

Ken Murray came to Hollywood in the late 20's to be one of the many stage stars trying to make a go of it in the talkies. His acting career never took off as he never really made an impression on the big screen and costarred in only a handful of films. However, he did take the career lemons he was handed and make lemonade. He realized his talent lay as a host and emcee and archivist - getting those who did have the public eye to open up. This compilation of home movies televised nearly fifty years ago is an eye into early 60's TV and its audience as well as the stars shown. As for the film itself we have footage of Laurel and Hardy in the early sound era, Cary Grant poolside at home as well as on location filming Gunga Din, guests at William Randolph Hearst's San Simeon in its heyday, and...
