Ronald "Ron" Simmons (born May 15, 1958) is a retired American professional wrestler and football player. He performed for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) under his real name, and in the World Wrestling Federation / World Wrestling Entertainment (WWF/E) under both his real name and the ring names Faarooq Asaad (sometimes spelled Asad) and Faarooq (sometimes spelled Farooq). He is signed with WWE, working in their Legends program.
In WCW, Simmons was a one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion; as the first African American to win the title, he is recognized by WWE as the first black world heavyweight champion in professional wrestling history. He was also a one-time WCW World Tag Team Champion with Butch Reed and a one-time WCW United States Tag Team Champion with Big Josh. In the WWF, Simmons was a three-time WWF Tag Team Champion with Bradshaw as one half of the Acolytes Protection Agency. Former leader of stable The Nation of Domination, he also competed for the company's singles championships on pay-per-view and television, headlining the 1997 King of the Ring event against The Undertaker for the WWF Championship. Simmons was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012.
Richard Morgan "Ric" Fliehr (born February 25, 1949), better known by his ring name Ric Flair, is an American professional wrestler currently signed to the WWE under a legends appearance contract. Also known as "The Nature Boy," Flair has cultivated a legacy as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, with a career that spans over 40 years. He is noted for his lengthy and highly decorated tenures with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, later WWE), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).
Flair is officially recognized by WWE, TNA, and Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) as a 16-time world champion (eight-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and two-time WWF Champion). The actual number of his world championship reigns varies by source, ranging from 16 to 25 titles. A major pay-per-view attraction throughout his career, he has main-evented WWE's premier annual event, WrestleMania, and participated in the closing singles match of the NWA/WCW equivalent, Starrcade, on nine occasions.PWI awarded Flair their Wrestler of the Year Award a record six times, while Wrestling Observer Newsletter named Flair as the Wrestler of the Year on nine occasions. A two-time inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame, first inducted in 2008 for his individual career and for a second time in 2012 as a member of the Four Horsemen, he is also an NWA Hall of Famer. In WCW, he also had two stints as a booker – from 1989–1990 and again in 1994.
Barry Clinton Windham (born July 4, 1960) is an American semi-retired professional wrestler and the son of wrestler Blackjack Mulligan. He is best known for his appearances with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
In NWA/WCW, he was a one-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time United States Heavyweight Champion, a one-time Television Champion, a one-time Western States Heritage Champion, a four-time NWA (Mid Atlantic)/WCW World Tag Team Champion and a one-time NWA United States Tag Team Champion with Ron Garvin. In the WWF, he was a two-time World Tag Team Champion with his brother-in-law, Mike Rotunda. On March 31, 2012, Windham was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Four Horsemen.
Windham was trained by his father Blackjack Mulligan and popular world champion Harley Race. He debuted on November 27, 1979 against J.J. Dillion in Odessa, Texas when he was 19 years old. Much of his early career was in the NWA's Championship Wrestling from Florida territory where Gordon Solie was the head announcer. He was a fan favorite for most of the early and middle periods of his career, having great success in singles and tag action. Windham had notable feuds with Kevin Sullivan and his army. With his brother-in-law Mike Rotunda, Windham formed a tag team in 1984. The duo captured the NWA Florida United States Tag Team Championship three times between March and May 1984.

Plot: This video features highlights of some of the matches from the Third Annual Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup tag team tournament. The tournament took place from April 22-April 23, 1988. Most of the matches of this large tournament are left out, and a lot of the matches are edited pretty short to fit on a two hour tape. Teams included on the tape are The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal), The Midnight Express (Eaton and Lane), The Four Horsemen (Anderson and Blanchard), The Fantastics (Rogers and Fulton), Lex Luger and Sting, The Jive Tones (Whatley and Conway), Ivan Koloff and Dick Murdoch, Larry Zbyszko and Al Perez, The Varsity Club (Rotunda and Steiner), The Powers of Pain (Warlord and Barbarian), Jimmy Valiant and Mighty Wilbur, The Sheepherders (Miller and Williams), Kendall Windham and The Italian Stallion, and Ron Simmons and Steve Williams. I won't tell the matches as that will give away the winners (since this was a single elimination tournament). Other matches on the card are NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair vs Nikita Koloff, The Midnight Rider (Dusty Rhodes) vs J.J. Dillon in a bloody Texas Bullrope Match, and Jimmy Garvin vs Kevin Sullivan in a Prince of Darkness Death Match (both wrestlers had hoods over their heads and couldn't see). Finally, the tape goes back to January 24, 1988 for the finals of the Third Annual Bunkhouse Stampede. Battle royales had been held at several house shows in the weeks leading up to this event, and the winners of each battle royale entered this battle royale final, held inside a steel cage. The match is joined in progress on the tape, so I don't know if some wrestlers had already been eliminated. The wrestlers on the tape are Arn Anderson, Road Warrior Animal, The Barbarian, Tully Blanchard, Ivan Koloff, Lex Luger, The Warlord, and the winner of the first two Bunkhouse Stampedes, Dusty Rhodes.

This month on Cyberstarz, we have two hot grudge matches. First, after exposing John Cena Sr. & Dylan Kage's plot to rid the Carolina's of Paul Bearer last month, "Superstar of Sin" Scott Reed takes on Dylan Kage. To make sure no one can get in or out of the match, President Bearer has assigned WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons / Faarooq to be the outside the ring enforcer. If that wasn't enough, Jay Freddie is out for revenge against the Uprising faction who have targeted him since his MWF debut nearly two years ago. This month he goes to take out the leader of the pack Slyck Wagner Brown one-on-one. You don't wanna miss this one! State Representative Ron Simmons held a combination political event and Town Hall meeting Wednesday in Lewisville, Texas. The representative and Republican guests spent most of the time talking about conservative victories in the most recent legislative session, then spent about 17 minutes taking softball questions. Representatives Tan Parker, Pat Fallon, and Geanie Morrison were on hand, and heaped praise on Simmons for his record in his freshman session. Morrison presented him with the "Courageous Conservative" award. The sparsely-attended event was billed as a State Rep town hall-style meeting, and was held at public expense in the City of Lewisville's MCL Grand Theater. Despite assurances to the contrary, it was partisan in nature, with an audience of predominantly conservatives. ...
