Christopher Martin has been singing all of his life. Recognized for his singing talent as child, Chris came to national fame in Jamaica 10 years ago with his victory on Television Jamaica’s (TVJ’s) popular talent competition Rising Stars, launching him into the spotlight. Since that time, Chris has developed a trademark that balances sweetness and swagger with a lot of sex appeal. Chris is a man of this digital age and excelled has with multiple YouTube videos scoring 1 million plus views including “Cheaters Prayer,” “Let Her Go,” “Mama,” “Paper Lovin’,” “Look On My Face,” “Chill Spot,” and most recently “I’m A Big Deal.”
Chris has toured successfully in Japan, North America and Europe, including an eight-nation tour with platinum selling German artist Gentleman, his collaborator on the hit “To The Top.” “That tour opened so many doors for me and made me realize the level reggae music can reach,” Chris remarked. “We were performing on rock festivals in Europe, so when I came back to Jamaica I had a new determination to go beyond the boundaries, so from then, I just started firing.”
“Big Deal” has also made a major impact on Instagram via fellow countryman Usain Bolt sporting an athletic Tee with the title as slogan. The song is also being used on a national radio campaign in Jamaica to promote the KFC ‘Big Deal’ meal. With these accomplishments alone, Chris could hold a place as one of Jamaica’s top trending talents but, there’s more.
Beyond his prominence as a stage performer, Chris is developing as a major recording artist and songwriter. Versatility and vocal excellence characterize Chris’s debut for VP Records, “Big Deal”, due to release Oct 2016. Among the standouts for the album, his latest hit “Under The Influence” is a collaboration with Producer Anju Blaxx (on the Mildew riddim). It is an international hit, with commercial radio play building in numerous markets. The video is directed by RD Studios and convincingly portrays Chris as the ‘international lover.’ In 2016, Chris Martin is making his influence felt on the reggae scene and showing that he’s the real deal.

Black history is American history, especially when it comes to music. African-American musical traditions set in motion a culture that's given us Jazz, the Blues, Rock n Roll, Funk, Disco, Soul, and Hip Hop.

The Influence is a studio album by American jazz guitarist Jimmy Raney, released in 1975 for Xanadu Records.
Reception
The Allmusic review awarded the album 4 stars stating "After barely being on records at all from 1957-1974 (just three albums of material and only one and a half albums during 1958-1973), the great guitarist Jimmy Raney had several opportunities to record for Xanadu between 1975-1976. His debut for the label consists of six trio numbers with bassist Sam Jones and drummer Billy Higgins, along with a couple of unaccompanied solos".

Elle King
Elle King (born Tanner Elle Schneider; July 3, 1989) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Her musical style encompasses country, soul, rock and blues. In 2012, King released her debut EP, The Elle King EP, on RCA and Fat Possum Records. The EP track "Playing for Keeps" is the theme song for VH1's Mob Wives Chicago series. She released her debut album, Love Stuff on February 17, 2015. The album produced the US top 10 single "Ex's & Oh's," which earned her two Grammy nominations. King has also toured with acts such as Of Monsters and Men, Train and Michael Kiwanuka. She is the daughter of comedian Rob Schneider and former model London King.
Early life
King was born in Los Angeles, California, United States, to mother London King, a former model, and father, former SNL cast member Rob Schneider. Her parents divorced and her mother remarried. She grew up living in southern Ohio, between Wellston and Columbus. When she was 9 her stepfather, Justin Tesa, gave her a record by all-girl hard-rock band The Donnas; she views this as the pivotal moment when she decided she wanted to be a musician. Around this time, she also started listening to The Runaways and Blondie, and she made her acting debut alongside her father in the movie Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo. Three years later, at 13, King started playing guitar, immersing herself in the music of Otis Redding, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, AC/DC (she has the band's logo tattooed on her bicep), and Earl Scruggs. Her interest in the country and bluegrass of Hank Williams and Earl Scruggs inspired her to learn the banjo. During her teenage years, she attended Buck's Rock camp in Connecticut, where she starred in a number of musicals. King plays guitar and banjo.

Recognized for his singing talent as child, Chris came to national fame in Jamaica 10 years ago with his victory on Television Jamaica’s (TVJ’s) popular talent competition Rising Stars, launching him into the spotlight. Since that time, Chris has developed a trademark that balances sweetness and swagger with a lot of sex appeal. Chris is a man of this digital age and excelled has with multiple YouTube videos scoring 1 million plus views including “Cheaters Prayer,” “Let Her Go,” “Mama,” “Paper Lovin’,” “Look On My Face,” “Chill Spot,” and most recently “I’m A Big Deal.”
Chris has toured successfully in Japan, North America and Europe, including an eight-nation tour with platinum selling German artist Gentleman, his collaborator on the hit “To The Top.” “That tour opened so many doors for me and made me realize the level reggae music can reach,” Chris remarked. “We were performing on rock festivals in Europe, so when I came back to Jamaica I had a new determination to go beyond the boundaries, so from then, I just started firing.”

Christopher Martin has been singing all of his life. Recognized for his singing talent as child, Chris came to national fame in Jamaica 10 years ago with his victory on Television Jamaica’s (TVJ’s) popular talent competition Rising Stars, launching him into the spotlight. Since that time, Chris has developed a trademark that balances sweetness and swagger with a lot of sex appeal. Chris is a man of this digital age and excelled has with multiple YouTube videos scoring 1 million plus views including “Cheaters Prayer,” “Let Her Go,” “Mama,” “Paper Lovin’,” “Look On My Face,” “Chill Spot,” and most recently “I’m A Big Deal.”
Chris has toured successfully in Japan, North America and Europe, including an eight-nation tour with platinum selling German artist Gentleman, his collaborator on the hit “To The Top.” “That tour opened so many doors for me and made me realize the level reggae music can reach,” Chris remarked. “We were performing on rock festivals in Europe, so when I came back to Jamaica I had a new determination to go beyond the boundaries, so from then, I just started firing.”
“Big Deal” has also made a major impact on Instagram via fellow countryman Usain Bolt sporting an athletic Tee with the title as slogan. The song is also being used on a national radio campaign in Jamaica to promote the KFC ‘Big Deal’ meal. With these accomplishments alone, Chris could hold a place as one of Jamaica’s top trending talents but, there’s more.

Black history is American history, especially when it comes to music. African-American musical traditions set in motion a culture that's given us Jazz, the Blues, Rock n Roll, Funk, Disco, Soul, and Hip Hop.
Despite this evolution, for much of the 20th Century “Rhythm & Blues” was a blanket term applied to any music marketed to black audiences, changing meaning with each era. As Hip Hop entered the picture artists like Teddy Riley, Jodeci, and members of New Edition incorporated the new sound and style into a classic R&B; template. Since then, the line between the two would continue to blur, influencing pop music forever.
Under The Influence shows how New Jack Swing married Hip Hop and classic R&B; to give birth to something entirely new for the 90s, paving the way for today's artists like Kehlani, Ty Dolla $ign, Dreezy, and Phantogram, while helping make millions of babies.
