Find more information at: http://www.eesi.org/briefings/view/061814nema Table of contents: http://youtu.be/JtVZKQsogB8?t=15s The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI), in partnership with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), held a briefing on innovation in electric grid technologies and the opportunity being provided by the Department of Energy's Quadrennial Energy Review (QER). The QER was launched this January to advance a 21st century energy policy that, among other things, may promote electric grid resilience. The electric grid faces unprecedented threats in the United States, including extreme weather, cyberattack, and physical vulnerabilities which urgently need to be addressed. Speakers: Jerry McNerney U.S. Representative (D-CA) http://youtu.be/JtVZKQsogB8?t=1m42s Karen Wayland Deputy Director for State and Local Cooperation, Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis, Department of Energy http://youtu.be/JtVZKQsogB8?t=11m31s Kenneth Geisler VP for Strategy, Smart Grid Division, Siemens -- Minneapolis, MN Download Slides: http://www.eesi.org/files/Kenneth-Geisler-061814.pdf http://youtu.be/JtVZKQsogB8?t=26m24s Anil Dhawan Senior Electrical Engineer, Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) - Oak Brook, IL Download Slides: http://www.eesi.org/files/Anil-Dhawan-061814-original.pdf http://youtu.be/JtVZKQsogB8?t=44m6s Erich Keller Automation Engineer, G&W; Electric -- Bolingbrook, IL Download Slides: http://www.eesi.org/files/Erich-Keller-061814.pdf http://youtu.be/JtVZKQsogB8?t=57m36s Speakers from the Department of Energy (DOE), G&W; Electric, Siemens, and Commonwealth Edison discussed the concept and purpose of the QER and the need to reform our energy policy to strengthen the nation's electric transmission and distribution grid, as well as the technologies available today that are making it happen. Extreme weather events are the number one cause of power outages. Tornadoes, hurricanes, and flooding can be particularly disruptive to above-ground transmission networks, and such events are occurring more frequently. The number of federal disaster declarations hit 99 in 2011, shattering the 2010 figure of 81, which itself was substantially above the yearly average of 35 since 1953. And nature isn't the only threat. According to a 2013 study by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, attacking just nine of the country's 55,000 substations could be enough to cause a coast-to-coast blackout on a hot summer day. Coordinated, precisely targeted attacks could cause the entire grid to collapse, taking months to restore. The good news is technologies available today can mitigate such threats and help utilities, grid operators, and electricity customers respond when disaster strikes. The challenge is deploying these new technologies given the complex regulatory structure and financial incentives governing electric infrastructure investment.- published: 19 Jun 2014

NEMA connector
NEMA connector
NEMA connectors are AC power plugs used for mains electricity in North America and other countries that use the standards set by the US National Electrical Manufacturers Association. NEMA 5--15R is the standard electricity outlet found in almost every household and building in the United States. Similar and interchangeable connectors are used in Canada and Mexico. NEMA wiring devices are made in current ratings from 15 to 60 amperes, and electrical potential ratings from 125 to 600 volts. Different combinations of contact blade widths, shapes, orientation, and dimensions give non-interchangeable connectors that are unique to a particular voltage, current capacity, and grounding system. NEMA 1 and NEMA 5 are used for commonplace domestic equipment; the others are for heavy duty or special purposes. The dimensional standard for electrical connectors is ANSI/NEMA WD--6 and is available from the NEMA website. This video targeted to blind users. Second, the magnitude of the current need to ensure efficient power markets and access to diverse energy resources makes development of robust transmission infrastructure a national priority. The shale gas revolution provides an additional reason to strategically plan the expansion and modernization of the grid while addressing pipeline constraints and access to renewable resources. Finally, these developments are being dealt with in a more competitive bulk power environment, including competition to own, build, and construct important new transmission facilities. New entities and joint ventures are emerging to augment the historical role of incumbent load-serving entities with respect to strengthening the grid regionally and inter-regionally.
Vast universe,
Beautiful Earth!
Dream of peaceful ideal world~.
This is the long cherished dream of God and humanity.
In the shoes of a servant with the heart of the parents,
Shedding sweat for earth, tears for humanity, and blood for heaven,
The man who has spent his entire life for God’s homeland: Rev. Sun Myung Moon!
Rev. Moon is now revered as the True Parents to humanity, the savior to the world, the King of Peace of the cosmos and the model saint infront of heaven.
10 months after the 3.1 Korean independence movement, Rev. Moon was born in Jeongju of Pyeong-An Book-Do on January 6th 1920.Rev. Moon was a boy full of curiosity. He befriended nature, spending his days roaming the mountains and rivers. He was also quite mature, always thinking others before himself.
However, the nation was groaning in misery under the Japanese rule.
His hometown, Jeong-Ju, was on the path of refugees running toward Manchuria.
Rev. Moon’s family was renowned for giving charity to those in need. His great-grandfather even left a saying, ‘If you feed people from all over the nation, the blessings of the nation will come to you,’ and thus, Rev. Moon’s house became a place where the refugees tired from their journey could stop to eat food and rest.
Having been raised with this kind of family tradition, from his early childhood Rev. Moon couldn’t ignore other people’s pain and suffering.
He often gave sacks of his family’s rice to the refugees passing by his home.
He understood that he needed new knowledge in order to reclaim the nation, and so he entered Osan school, and transferred the following year to Jeong-Ju public school.
Influenced by his grandfather Yoon-Kook Moon, who was a pastor and also a independence activist, Rev. Moon’s love for religion and his country grew.
At the age of 16…
Young Rev. Moon lost 5 of his 13 siblings…
Grieving the death of his siblings and friends and for the suffering of the nation, the young boy at 16 years of age went up a mountain alone to seek answers from God.
On the dawn of Easter morning in 1935, the boy who prayed in tears all night long met Jesus in spirit.

President Barack Obama says the oil spill will have caused substantial and ongoing economic impact. Open letter. Paul Chehade:.
The Honorable Barack Obama
President of the United States
Dear Mr. President,
I would like to take a few minutes of your precious time to consult with you about a very important matter to our nation and especially to four states of the Union. This is regarding the disastrous consequences of the British Petroleum Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico and our commitment to demonstrate, at our cost, an advanced new Italian technology that will safely and ecologically decontaminate the affected areas.
We know that you and the government are dedicating all the attention to this important matter, implementing the necessary technologies and resources to mitigate the damage, and at the same time we understand that the BP executives are working around the clock to impede further damage to the Gulf of Mexico and the population in the four states affected. We the citizens of this country thank you, the government, and BP for the tremendous effort to somehow correct the problem.
\
But the reality expressed by the experts is different and this tragedy will impact even further if we don’t take serious additional steps to diminish the damage. As you may already know, the damage to the marine life and the coast, plus the economic impact to millions of citizens in the four states, will pale compared to the severe health consequences that the acid rain may produce to the population due to the evaporation of the contaminated waters in the Gulf of Mexico.
Taking all of this into consideration and with the only objective to help my country, I would like to kindly propose to you, the government and the BP executives, a new technology from Italy that will ecologically decontaminate, in a large percentage, the water and sand in the affected areas without further damaging the environment. If you or the agency in charge allows us to do a proven demonstration, we are ready and willing to pay the full cost of the test, a few hundred of thousands of dollars, as a contribution to our nation and the State of Florida where we live.
We understand that you and the agencies in charge may have received hundreds of letters with different technologies and all kind of propositions, but we are not asking you to believe in this technology at the moment, we are only requesting you to give us the opportunity to prove this technology works at no cost for the well being of our nation.
I would like to thank you in advance for your consideration and taking the time to read our letter, please be so kind to contact me at your earliest convenience for further information.
Sincerely yours
Paul Chehade:.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
As is known, from the May 3, 2010, I had been working on the serious problem that welcomes us in relation to the pollution in our coasts due to the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico this year. Since that date, I been sending letters to both, the President of the United States and to all those governors in the states involved.
Personally, I believe that we cannot continue waiting for the bureaucratic processes without immediate results. (As our habitat and economy are destroyed). Consequently, together with a group of Americans and Europeans entrepreneurs I had taken the decision to accelerate this process and make a free test of effectiveness with our products and technologies that will clean the contaminated areas. This process is to be made as soon as possible on behalf of our nation, for the protection and care it deserves. Our group presented a solution to this tragedy by making available new technologically advanced equipment from Italy that will effectively clean the sand and sea of the Gulf of Mexico.
No entity in charge or the media has mentioned the truly profound consequences of the tragic BP oil spill event. The oil spill contamination is not only destroying the Gulf of Mexico's marine life for many decades, but it will increase the risk of cancer and other serious diseases that could be fatal to the population of the affected four states of the union due to toxic acid rain. Acid rain will be one of the direct consequences of this devastating accident due to the evaporation of the polluted waters in the Gulf of Mexico.
EFFECTS OF ACID RAIN IN HUMANS:
Mr. Chehade explains that Acid Rain looks, feels, and tastes just like clean rain. The harm to people from acid rain is not direct. However, the pollutants that cause acid rain, sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) do damage human health. These gases interact in the atmosphere to form fine sulfate and nitrate particles that can be transported by the wind, sometimes traveling hundreds of miles and are inhaled deep into people's lungs. Fine particles can also penetrate indoors. The result is drying of the skin and bacterial infection. This can be unsightly and deadly.
How does Acid Rain affect humans? Many scientific studies have

ENSO Plastics
The mission of ENSO Plastics is to making the world a cleaner place through plastic solutions that are better for the environment. The company strives to end plastic pollution by developing earth friendly plastic solutions, like the ENSO Bottle. It is a clear, recyclable, and biodegradable bottle. If the ENSO Bottle is NOT recycled and gets disposed of in a landfill, the ENSO additive attracts single celled microbes to naturally break down the product into fresh soil, carbon dioxide, and methane, similarly to an apple core or a banana peel. Keep Arizona Beautiful celebrates this company’s innovative environmental practices and recognizes that our state will benefit from corporate champions like ENSO Plastics.
