Undescended testicles, also called cryptorchidism, may be seen in 4% of boys at birth, and there is an even higher incidence in premature infants. 60-70% of these undescended testis can come down to normal location by 4-5 months of age.
A good clinical examination should be done by a Pediatric urologist or a pediatric surgeon at 6 months of age to check if the testis is present or not. If the testis is present, it may have descended incompletely and may lie within the inguinal canal (just above the scrotum). Such a testis may be felt by the examining Pediatric Surgeon or a Pediatric urologist doctor called a palpable UDT. The testicle may have not descended properly, but remains within the tummy or it may be absent. In such a case a testis may not be felt by the doctor.
Tests such as ultrasound or MRI may not help much in finding out if the testis is present or not or where it is. A clinical examination by a pediatric urologist surgeon is the best way to decide. If the testis can’t be felt by the doctor, a laparoscopy surgery is the only test which can determine with 100% accuracy the presence and location of testis.
Ideal age to operate is around 6-9months of age and this is the personal preference of Dr A.K.Singal as well.
Undescended testis which can be felt by the pediatric urologist surgeon (called palpable testis) can be managed with a Surgery called Orchiopexy. It is a day care surgery and the children can go back home in the evening of surgery. The surgery takes about 30-45 minutes and all the stitches are put within the skin and need not be removed. Dr Singal usually calls for a review 2 days and 2 weeks after surgery to check for healing. Further, we use only one dose of antibiotic just before surgery in operation theater and thus excessive use of antibiotics is avoided.
If the testis cannot be felt by the doctor (called non-palpable undescended testis), its presence and location must be determined. A diagnostic laparoscopy is recommended through a small cut in the belly button to check for testis within the belly. A telescope attached to the camera can give a very good view of all the locations where the testis may be inside the belly or if it is absent. If testis is found inside the belly, orchiopexy using laparoscopy can be done immediately (called laparoscopic orchiopexy).
Dr A.K.Singal is one of the best Pediatric Urologist surgeons in India and people travel to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane to get their kids treated under his care from all over India.

The UN's High Commissioner for Human Rights says Burundi seems to have taken a new step towards outright civil war. His remarks follow attacks on military installations on Friday in which dozens of people died. This comes as senior emergency relief officials are warning that urgent action is needed to prevent a descent into catastrophic violence in the country with appeals for donor countries who have withdrawn bilateral aid over the political situation, to consider the consequences on an already vulnerable population.

In the context of human society, a family (from Latin: familia) is a group of people affiliated by consanguinity (by recognized birth), affinity (by marriage), or co-residence and/or shared consumption (see Nurture kinship). Members of the immediate family includes spouses, parents, brothers, sisters, sons and/or daughters. Members of the extended family may include grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews nieces and/or siblings-in-law.
In most societies, the family is the principal institution for the socialization of children. As the basic unit for raising children, anthropologists generally classify most family organization as matrifocal (a mother and her children); conjugal (a husband, his wife, and children; also called the nuclear family); avuncular (for example, a grandparent, a brother, his sister, and her children); or extended (parents and children co-reside with other members of one parent's family). Sexual relations among the members are regulated by rules concerning incest such as the incest taboo.
"Family" is used metaphorically to create more inclusive categories such as community, nationhood, global village and humanism.
Genealogy is a field which aims to trace family lineages through history.
Family is also an important economic unit studied in family economics.

A business, also known as an enterprise or a firm, is an organization involved in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers.[1] Businesses are prevalent in capitalist economies, where most of them are privately owned and provide goods and services to customers in exchange for other goods, services, or money. Businesses may also be not-for-profit or state-owned. A business owned by multiple individuals may be referred to as a company.
Business can refer to a particular organization or to an entire market sector, e.g. "the music business". Compound forms such as agribusiness represent subsets of the word's broader meaning, which encompasses all activity by suppliers of goods and services. The goal is for sales to be more than expenditures resulting in a profit.

Filmmakers: Liew Jun Liang, Chew Xuan Zheng, Shalyn Kochappi, Sheena Ong and Oon Tian Sern
Synopsis:
By being open, adaptable to change and committed to bilateral diplomacy, strong EU-SG relations have been fostered and the friendship has been rosy throughout the years. Through the film, we aim to capture the dynamism of EU-SG ties and cultures with a youthful perspective. As such, our film features a mix of European and Singaporean students as they navigate through the unfamiliar adventures of local food, street soccer, and Pasar Malam (Bahasa Melayu for "Night Market"), as well as coping with unexpected disruptions such as heavy rain. Through the adventure, the film captures the theme of diversity, open-mindedness, adaptability to change and friendship through individual and group interviews. In this group sharing, the group gathers to reflect on the day's activities and uncover the differences in experiences in Europe and Singapore.
Complementary to the adventure of the youth group are snippets of interviews with European and Eurasian working professionals. These interviews contribute to a greater understanding of European cultural differences, multiculturalism, and the role of sports and music as driving forces which unite peoples of different descent. Through these subtexts, we attempt to convey a spirit of dynamism and adventure.
The use of original local music, and remixes of local tunes in the street soccer scene, emphasizes the local experiences and adventures enjoyed by this group of youths. It also exemplifies the feelings of adventure, fun, and heart-warming experiences in order to give concrete interpretations to the narrative of friendship, diversity and openness as portrayed in this film.

Canadian community organizations urging Canadian Government to act on the Standing Committee’s recommendations on Hong Kong’s democratic future June 16, 2015
Following the November 19, 2014 all-party motion in support of Hong Kong and two phases of hearing in March and May 2015 on the situation of Hong Kong, the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development presented to the House of Commons the report of the parliamentary study titled “Hong Kong’s Democratic Future” on June 15, 2015. This report was released just two days prior to the commencement of Hong Kong Legislative Council’s discussion and voting on the controversial political reform on the election of Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
Three recommendations were made by the Standing Committee to Canadian Government as a result of this study:
1. The Committee recommends that the Government of Canada state its support for the democratic aspirations of Hong Kong people, including the need for genuine universal suffrage in the election of their political leaders.
2. The Committee recommends that the Government of Canada reiterate its support for the ‘one country, two systems’ principle, and for the 1984 Joint Declaration of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of the People's Republic of China on the Question of Hong Kong.
3. The Committee recommends that the Government of Canada encourage dialogue that can lead to governance reforms in Hong Kong that are broadly accepted by all concerned.
Canada-Hong Kong Link, the Canadian community organization that is instrumental in making this parliamentary study happen in collaboration with organizations from other parts of Canada particularly Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and Montreal, applaud the content and recommendations of the report as being comprehensive, objective and reflective of the aspirations of Hong Kong people and Canadians towards the situation in Hong Kong and the roles Canada should play in promoting true democracy and meaningful dialogue there.
The situation in Hong Kong matters to Canada as we have a long-standing connection to Hong Kong in terms of historical, people-to-people, and commercial ties. According to the Canadian General Consulate in Hong Kong, the territory boasts one of the largest Canadian communities abroad (an estimated 295,000). “This community, along with some 500,000 people of Hong Kong descent in Canada, plays a dynamic role in building vibrant bilateral relations”.
The effort of the parliamentarians demonstrates the commitment of Canada to uphold the Canadian core values of democracy, freedom and rule of law and its legal and moral obligation to Hong Kong people as an endorsing country of the Joint Declaration in 1984.
In view of forthcoming voting on the proposed political reform by HKSAR Legislative Council as early as June 17, all Canadian community organizations concerned about Hong Kong urge the Canadian Government to act on the Committee’s recommendations to show its timely support to political reform with genuine universal suffrage, and to urge the People’s Republic of China to honour and respect what they have promised Hong Kong citizens in the Joint Declaration and Basic Law in respect to ‘One Country Two Systems’, ‘Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong’ with a ‘High Degree of Autonomy’. They sincerely hope that ‘Canada stands for what is right and just, regardless of whether it is popular, convenient or expedient’.

Dilma Vana Rousseff (born 14 December 1947) is the 36th and current President of Brazil. She is the first woman to hold the office. Prior to that, in 2005, she was also the first woman to become Chief of Staff to the President of Brazil, appointed by then President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The daughter of a Bulgarian entrepreneur, Rousseff was raised in an upper middle class household in Belo Horizonte. She became a socialist during her youth, and following the 1964 coup d'état joined various left-wing and Marxist urban guerrilla groups that fought against the military dictatorship. Rousseff was captured and jailed between 1970 and 1972 and reportedly tortured.
After her release, Rousseff rebuilt her life in Porto Alegre with Carlos Araújo, who would be her partner for 30 years. Both helped found the Democratic Labour Party (PDT) in Rio Grande do Sul, participating in several of the party's electoral campaigns. She became the Secretary of the Treasury of the city of Porto Alegre in the Alceu Collares administration, and later the Secretary of Energy of the State of Rio Grande do Sul under both Collares and Olívio Dutra administrations. In 2000, after an internal dispute in the Dutra cabinet, she left PDT and joined the Workers' Party (PT).
In 2002, Rousseff joined the committee responsible for the energy policy of presidential candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who after winning the election invited her to become Minister of Energy. In 2005, a political crisis triggered by a corruption scandal led to the resignation of Chief of Staff José Dirceu. Rousseff took over the post, remaining in office until March 31, 2010, when she left in order to run for President. She was elected in a run-off on 31 October 2010. She is the first female elected President of Brazil, in addition to being the first economist to hold the office.
Dilma Rousseff was inaugurated as President of Brazil on January 1, 2011. The event -- which was organized by her transitional team, the Ministries of External Relations and Defense and the Presidency of the Republic -- was awaited with some expectation, since she became the first woman ever to preside over the country. Important female figures in Brazilian history were honored with panels spread across the Monumental Axis. According to the Military Police of the Federal District, around 30,000 people attended.
Until December 21, 2010, the publishing house of the Senate had printed 1,229 invitations for Rousseff's inauguration. The National Congress expected a total of 2,000 guests for the ceremony. As reported by the press, between 14 and 17 heads of state and government had confirmed their presence. Among them were José Sócrates, Juan Manuel Santos, Mauricio Funes, Alan García, José Mujica, Hugo Chávez, Álvaro Colom, Alpha Condé, Sebastián Piñera, Evo Morales, (later canceled due to last minute protests in his country) and Boyko Borisov. U.S. President Barack Obama sent Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to represent him. Former Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso also attended.
In addition to the formal ceremony, Rousseff's inauguration also featured concerts by five female Brazilian singers: Elba Ramalho, Fernanda Takai, Mart'nália and Zélia Duncan, and Gaby Amarantos. The Ministry of Culture organized the cultural part of the event, having provided a budget of 1.5 million reais (around 0.8 million U.S. dollars) for it. The concerts started at 10:00 hours (local time) and stopped at 14:00 hours, with the start of the official inauguration ceremony. The concerts continued at 18:00 hours until 21:00 hours. Rousseff did not attended, as she held a reception at the Itamaraty Palace to foreign authorities present her inauguration. Each foreign authority had the opportunity to talk to her for 30 seconds.
