Sound & Color is the second studio album by American rock band Alabama Shakes. It was released on April 21, 2015 via ATO Records, MapleMusic Recordings and Rough Trade Records.
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in the U.S., giving the band their first chart-topper; globally, the album hit the top ten in Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Alabama Shakes began recording their second album in late 2013. The group listened to anything and everything for influence, without regard for its public reception in the end. They spent over a year in the studio, with no clear end-goal, as they had not written any new songs due to their exhaustive touring schedule.Sound & Color is steeped in several different genres, touching on shoegaze to bands such as MC5.
The Greatest is a 1977 film about the life of boxer Muhammad Ali, in which Ali plays himself. It was directed by Tom Gries and Monte Hellman. The film follows Ali's life from the 1960 Olympics to his regaining the heavyweight crown from George Foreman in their famous "Rumble in the Jungle" fight in 1974. The footage of the boxing matches themselves are largely the actual footage from the time involved.
The song "The Greatest Love of All" was written for this film and sung by George Benson; it was later remade by Whitney Houston as "Greatest Love of All".
The movie is based on a book written by Muhammad Ali, Herbert Muhammad and Richard Durham.
Trance denotes any state of awareness or consciousness other than normal waking consciousness. Trance states may occur involuntarily and unbidden.
The term trance may be associated with hypnosis, meditation, magic, flow, and prayer. It may also be related to the earlier generic term, altered states of consciousness, which is no longer used in "consciousness studies" discourse.
Trance in its modern meaning comes from an earlier meaning of "a dazed, half-conscious or insensible condition or state of fear", via the Old French transe "fear of evil", from the Latin transīre "to cross", "pass over". This definition is now obsolete.
Wier, in his 1995 book, Trance: from magic to technology, defines a simple trance (p. 58) as a state of mind being caused by cognitive loops where a cognitive object (thoughts, images, sounds, intentional actions) repeats long enough to result in various sets of disabled cognitive functions. Wier represents all trances (which include sleep and watching television) as taking place on a dissociated trance plane where at least some cognitive functions such as volition are disabled; as is seen in what is typically termed a 'hypnotic trance'. With this definition, meditation, hypnosis, addictions and charisma are seen as being trance states. In Wier's 2007 book, The Way of Trance, he elaborates on these forms, adds ecstasy as an additional form and discusses the ethical implications of his model, including magic and government use which he terms "trance abuse".
Trance is an album by American jazz pianist and composer Steve Kuhn recorded in 1974 and released on the ECM label.
The Allmusic review by Thom Jurek awarded the album 4 stars stating "This is jazz that touches on fusion, modal, and the new spirit of the music as ECM came into the 1970s as a player. There is restlessness and calm, tempestuousness and serenity, conflict and resolution, and -- above all -- creativity and vision".
Trance (Hope Abbott) is a fictional character appearing in comic books published by the Marvel Comics. A mutant, Hope attended the Xavier Institute before its closing. She retained her powers after M-Day and is a member of the X-Men's training squad.
Hope was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. When Hope's powers manifested, it appeared as if a ghost had come out of her body, giving her father a heart attack. She was then sent to the Xavier Institute by her parents believing that she would be "cured."
While at the Institute, Hope was put in the Paragons Squad under the watch of Wolfsbane. Hope then took on the codename Trance. When it was outted that Wolfsbane and a student (Elixir) had been in a relationship, Wolfsbane decided to leave. Magma then took over as the squad's advisor.
When the events of Decimation transpired, she was one of only 27 students to keep her powers. Greatly weakened by the losses, Emma Frost placed all of the remaining students into an all-out brawl to determine who would become the team of X-Men in-training. Hope did not make the team yet, like all of the other students who retained their powers, still resides at the Institute.
Romansh
(also spelled Romansch, Rumantsch, or Romanche; Romansh: rumantsch , rumàntsch,
romauntsch or
romontsch ) is a Romance language spoken predominantly in the southeastern Swiss canton of Grisons (Graubünden), where it has official status alongside German and Italian and is used as the medium of instruction in schools in Romansh-speaking areas. Romansh has also been recognized as a national language of Switzerland since 1938 and as an official language along with German, French and Italian since 1996. It is sometimes grouped with Ladin and Friulian as a Rhaeto-Romance language, though this is disputed.
Romansh is a descendant of the spoken Latin language of the Roman Empire, which by the 5th century AD replaced the Celtic and Raetic languages previously spoken in the area, although Romansh retains a small number of words from these languages. Romansh has also been heavily influenced by German in vocabulary and morphosyntax. The language gradually retreated to its current area over the centuries, being replaced by Alemannic and Bavarian dialects. The earliest writing identified as Romansh dates from the 10th or 11th century, although major works do not appear until the 16th century when several regional written varieties began to develop. The 19th century saw a further shrinkage of the language area but also a literary revival and the start of a language movement dedicated to halting the decline of the language.
Muhammad Ali - Trailer The Greatest (1977)
Clip from the movie "The Greatest". I just liked this clip a lot. It doesn't necessarily reflect my own private views. But I thought it was courageous of him. Ali is told by the white army recruiter that he'll probably be given a soft position if he served in Vietnam, so he should take it. He gently explains that he would rather go to jail than be used as a recruiting tool to recruit other blacks like himself to go kill Asians who have never done anything bad to blacks.
He's the greatest fighter of all time. A sports icon that is loved throughout the world. A man driven by his ambition to be the best. Muhammad Ali is a name that to this day puts fear in the strongest of men. Hear from the people who knew him best, from experts of the world of boxing, relive the legendary fights and explore the life of boxing's greatest symbol, Ali. #muhammadali #featurefilm #documentary #freefilm #boxing Connect with 1091 Pictures Website: http://www.1091pictures.com Watch more movies on demand: youtube.com/c/1091ONDEMAND Follow Us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/1091pictures Follow Us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/1091media Please subscribe!

Best Movie ever made about Muhammed Ali. He did a good job playing himself. In this scene, with Robert DuVall, he keeps it real about turning his back on Black People. Filmed in 1977, Columbia Pictures Dir: Richard Gries

Clip from the movie "The Greatest". I just liked this clip a lot. It doesn't necessarily reflect my own private views. But I thought it was courageous of him. Ali says "No Vietcong ever called me a N*****." There are places in Miami Beach he's not allowed to go. It's not his war and he's not going to go there to fight for the white man.
In 1977, Muhammad Ali Starred in a movie about his life. The movie is called The Greatest. Chip McAllister portrayed the young Cassius Clay at the beginning of the movie. Chip responded to a News Story that alerted him that there was a World-Wide search for a young man to play Ali in the film. Chip was fortunate enough to claim the role . . . and change his life forever. A little know fact is that in 2004, Chip (with his wife Kim) was able to win One Million Dollars on the Emmy Award Winning CBS TV Show, The Amazing Race . . . Chip & Kim are just getting started!!!

This time is not over yet. This moment is forever.
What we made is so strong. I can't believe it will break.
But there's shit everywhere. So I don't care no more.
You'll destroy a place we need. So get out of here right now!
Why did you bring us the hate so many times.
Bless. bless us for making a place.
Lie, Lie, Everybody lies. Every lie dies, why can't you see?
Why, Why, Gonna tell you why. Gonna give you a reason to live.
No matter what you do, W'ill be with you.
You should think about this moment. think about your life
We got so many sacrifices, to get what we live for
What are you waiting for, you have to move by yourself
Don't count on anybody, now is the time to rise up.
You can't get what you see, You need to live for this
No matter what you do, Will be with you
