If you can't get over how talented Taylor Swift is and you feel she is one of the most sensational entertainers of all times you sure are not alone. "US Weekly" reported on March 14, 2016, Swift’s music videos are actually more popular than most of the shows on TV. A Nielsen study which was commissioned by Vevo revealed there really are more people who are watching Swift’s music videos than there are who are watching well known network TV shows.
"Variety" has reported TV may not be the largest attraction for audiences for all that much longer. Nielsen research has shown that music videos from artists who are well known have often been gathering equal if not larger audiences than network TV shows. In fact during the week which Swift's "Bad Blood" music video was released her music videos had a larger audience than all but one network TV show which was “NCIS: Los Angeles.” Other well known entertainers such as Drake and Rihanna have also been attracting millions of viewers to their music videos.
"Fortune" reports that many music video viewers begin by watching a new song and than they dive deeper into an artist’s catalog of music videos in what could be seen as a mini binge. Vevo VP of research Andrea Zapata has said it's not the goal of Vevo to claim that TV is dead because there are clearly still millions of viewers who enjoy TV.
We are however seeing a shifting landscape of loyalties with hot music videos like those by Swift. So if you have not already done so why not join the trend and sit back and stream some Swift videos from YouTube to your TV from your tablet via Google Chromecast to see what all of the excitement is about. This all really does create a fantastic new horizon in entertainment.
