Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott Supports Expungement Bill
House Bill 64 would allow those convicted of a singular non-violent, Class D felony with no prior felony convictions or pending charges to ask the court to erase that felony from their record once they've served their time. Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott testified before the House Judiciary Committee on January 29, 2014. 111913 ESCAPEE PLEADS GUILTY MCPR
On March 17, 2013 Britt Chadvurn Privatte escaped fro, the Montgomery County with the help of two other inmates. He and two other had been arrested for bank robberies in the Kingwood area of Montgomery County. He was also responsible for robbing the same bank twice in Harris County on Louetta Road and three robberies in Fort Bend County along with aggravated assault on a peace officer in Walker County and multiple other charges there. He was the center of a large scale law enforcement effort to locate him. Calls came in day and night with possible sightings but still nothing. Then 11 days later a tip led then to the area of Harris County near Interstate 45 and Cypresswood. Officers from the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, the Harris County Sheriff's Office and Montgomery County Deputies with the help of a K-9 "Argo" took him into custody. He was transported to the hospital for a dog bite then returned to the Montgomery County Jail. Last month the Judge ruled on a change of venue and moved the trial to Brazos County, College Station. The trial was to begin on December 2. As Privatte sat in the 221st District Court of Judge Lisa Michalk today security was heavy. Privatte spent more time watching "Ranger" a Special Needs Dog assigned to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office who was also in the courtroom. Several believe the memory of his capture with the K-9 may have attributed to todays attention by Privatte. Privatte's get away driver was sentenced prior to today to 20-years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He had no prior convictions prior to meeting up with Privatte. The girlfriend of Privatte was also sentenced previously to 25 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Rob Fryer with the Montgomery County District Attorneys Office pointed out the plea today was for the Montgomery County Charges. The Harris, Walker and Fort Bend County charges are still pending.- published: 20 Nov 2013

Does Innocence Matter? Why not test the DNA?
Does Innocence Matter? Why not test the DNA?
Is McLean County the next Lake County? Convicted citizens of McLean County are looking for justice through DNA testing. Although recently elected McLean County State's Attorney, and former defense attorney, Jason Chambers supported DNA testing prior to being elected, he now fights finding tangible proof of innocence or confirming convictions for those prosecuted under former SA (now judge) Charles Reynard. There have already been at least two convictions overturned based based on hiding evidence under former SA Reynards leadership. Join us on March 14 at 12pm at the McLean County Law and Justice Center to show your support for post conviction DNA testing! http://www.DoesInnocenceMatter.com- published: 13 Feb 2014
