ISIS stands for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. ISIS is headquartered in the city of Mosul, Iraq. ISIS consists mostly of Al-Qaeda terrorists from the region around Mosul. Mosul is in the Nineveh Province just across the Tigris River from ancient Assyria’s capital city of Nineveh. As a matter of fact the ruins of ancient Nineveh are included inside of Mosul’s city limits! The city of Mosul represents Nineveh in end time bible prophecy and ISIS represents ancient Assyria.

أما الدكتور خزعل الماجدي فيقول بأنها ليست مقطوعة اشورية قديمة، بل هي مقطوعة حديثة لمؤلف إيراني معاصر هو حسين عليزاده، واسمها الحقيقي هو" ناي نوا" (وتعني بالفارسية "عزف ناي على مقام النوا") وتتكون من خمسة مقاطع. ووفقاً للماجدي، فقد ألفها زاده سنة 1983 وعزفتها لأول مرة الأوركسترا الوطنية الإيرانية التابعة للإذاعة والتلفزيون الإيراني سنة 1984.

Nineveh (English pronunciation: /ˈnɪn.ɪv.ə/; Akkadian: Ninwe; Classical Syriac: ܢܸܢܘܵܐ; Hebrew: נינוה Nīnewē; Greek: Νινευη Nineuē; Latin: Nineve; Arabic: نينوى Naynuwa; Persian: نینوا Nainavā) was an ancient Assyrian city on the eastern bank of the Tigris River, and capital of the Neo Assyrian Empire. Its ruins are across the river from the modern-day major city of Mosul, in the Ninawa Governorate of Iraq.
The origin of the name Nineveh is obscure. Possibly it meant originally the seat of Ishtar, since Nina was one of the Babylonian names of that goddess. The ideogram means "house or place of fish," and was perhaps due to popular etymology (comp. Aramaic "nuna," denoting "fish").
Ancient Nineveh's mound-ruins of Kouyunjik and Nabī Yūnus are located on a level part of the plain near the junction of the Tigris and the Khosr Rivers within a 7 km² (1732 acres) area circumscribed by a 12-kilometre (7.5 mi) brick rampart. This whole extensive space is now one immense area of ruins overlaid in parts by new suburbs of the city of Mosul.

Agatha Cristie's travels and time in Middle East-ICCL Event
The Iraqi Cultural Centre in London The Orient Express was the train of her dreams,as she discribed it, travelling from Paris to the Middle East, but also became the title of one of her best known novels, plotted in Iraq: ( Murder on the Orient Express). She also wrote: ( They Came to Baghdad) in 1952. She found romance in the historical site of Ur (The Cradle of Civilisation) in southern Iraq where she met her husband , archaeologist Max Mallowan in 1930. She later assisted him in many excavations in Nepure, Nineveh and visited Nejef and Kerbalah. Our guest speaker is John Curran, Agatha's archivist. His second book on Agatha's secret notebooks, ( Murder in the Making ) has just been published in the Uk and USA. -

The city is surrounded by Nineveh from west and Kirkuk city from east and Iran and Turkey from North. There are two Museum, Erbil citadel museum, which is located in the citadel. It contains about 40 antique parts and anc-ient heritages. The second one is Erbil museum which includes about 5000 ancient parts, which deep-rooted in the history.

Today Sulaimani has developed in most modern life aspects, hotels, motels, supermarkets & Malls, theatres, restaurants & Parks. On the west side a plane area could be seen with a tourism environment. The majority of citizens are Kurds; they live peacefully with Chaldean, Assyrian, Armenian and Yazidi minorities. Duhok city is famous with historical sites in which sculptures could be seen on the rocks. Yazidic cultural museum, playground for kids, small zoo. The city embraces Duhok University and many cultural centers. Kalar consists of 27 quarters of a population of about 250,000 residents. Kalar is located on a large plain area embracing many historical sites related to different periods; BC, AD, and Islamic periods. Shirwana Citadel, Pasha Citadel and Christian Canal are examples of AD historical sites. In winter, temperatures may reach 2˚C.

From my experience, I have learned that in this way, the Holy Land becomes more than just history, and that the large stones that we see scattered about in dissaray, join together one by one until they become - a Byzantine Church. This also happens when I lead a group of Pilgrims in the Steps of Jesus. We climb to the peak of Mount Precipice, "glide" over the land to the Sea of Galilee, land on the water and "see" the miracle which enfolds before us. This is a many faceted experience. Not only history which you will remember and cherish, but an experience which I hope will be inplanted in your hearts and minds, and will accompany you all the days of your life.

Things are changing quickly. Our planet is at an alarmed state. It is enough to pretend we have no access to the truth. It is enough to play around and be like the world. It is enough to give in to our secret sins. Turn to Jesus my friend. Take off your burdens. Confess your sins. God knows what you are facing and thinking. Repent and forgive. Jesus our Lord and Savior is coming back. God bless you.

It's known as "Al-hadba", meaning "the humped".
At over 50 metres in height, it's an imposing feature on the city skyline.
Architecturally, however, the minaret is in a bit of trouble - it has a severe lean.
