UPDATE 19 OCTOBER 2013: Today, the prosecution was unable to prove beyond a shadow of doubt to a jury of six members that I had either resisted arrest or interfered with public duties. As such, the judge declared a mistrial and rescheduled a retrial for November 18, 2013. I want to thank my attorneys, Blue Rannefeld, Cole Combs, and Larry Kielberg for the outstanding job they did representing me this past week.
On March 16, 2013, my son and I were hiking along country roads among pastures and fields with my 15-year old son to help him earn his hiking merit badge. I always enjoy these father/son hikes because it gives me time alone with my son. As I always do when we go on these hikes and walks, I took my trusty rifle with me as there are coyotes, wild hogs, and cougars in our area. In Texas, it is legal to openly carry a rifle or shotgun as long as you do so in a manner that isn't calculated to cause alarm. In other words, you can't walk around waving your rifle at people. I always carry my rifle slung across my chest dangling, not holding it in my hands.
At about the 5 mile mark of our hike, a voice behind us asked us to stop and the officer motioned for us to approach him. He got out of his car and met us a few feet later. He immediately grabbed my gun without any indication or warning and asked me what we were doing. I explained that we were hiking. He then asked me, referring to my rifle, "Any reason why you have this?" My response was a confused, "Because I can?" If an officer pulls you over for doing the speed limit and then asks why you were doing the speed limit, wouldn't you say something similar? These two questions and answers and were very cordial, but the officer didn't like my second response.
At that point, the officer said, "Oh, okay" while looking away and began to try taking my rifle from me. He didn't ask for my rifle and he didn't suggest he would take it from me. He simply began unhooking it from its sling. My immediate reaction was to put my arms over the rifle and I calmly asked told not to disarm me. At that, he slammed his right foot onto my left foot, pulled his service pistol on me and told me to take my hands off the weapon, which I immediately complied with. I yelled for him to get off my foot, but instead he placed his gun to the back of my head and slammed me into the hood of his car. At this point, I remembered I had a camera on me (one of the requirements of the hiking merit badge is to document your hikes). This video is the rest of that encounter. Up to this point, I am not told why I am being stopped, why he tried to disarm me, or even that I'm under arrest. He never once explained that he was responding to a call or that I am suspected of any crime. All I knew at the time is that an officer of the law is trying to take my gun for absolutely no reason in the middle of the country in an area where people hunt all the time.
We did not set out that Saturday morning to "make a point" or cause problems. Our goal was to complete a 10-mile hike and return home without incident. My son chose a route that was away from populated areas but near our home. We intentionally avoided populated areas.
The arresting officer is Officer Steve Ermis and the supervisor is Sergeant Menix of the Temple Police Department.

Active duty refers to a full-time occupation as part of a military force, as opposed to reserve duty.
The Indian Armed Forces are considered to be one of the largest active service forces in the world with almost 1.32 million Active Standing Army due to the complex and volatile nature of India's neighborhood and the ongoing Kashmir insurgencies. At least 500,000-700,000 troops from the armed forces are stand-by in Jammu & Kashmir to neutralize for any threats. An additional 1.15 million reserve forces can be activated in a few weeks as per the situation under the order of the President of India who is the Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces of India. This does not include the additional 1.30 million troops of the Paramilitary who too are an active force whose full time responsibility is to guard the sovereignty of the nation from internal and external threats.
In the Israel Defense Forces, there are two types of active duty: regular service (Hebrew: שרות סדיר, Sherut Sadir), and active reserve duty (Hebrew: שרות מילואים פעיל Sherut Milu'im Pa'il, abbr. Shamap). Regular service refers to either mandatory service (Hebrew: שרות חובה, Sherut Hova), according to the laws of Israel, or standing army service (Hebrew: שרות קבע, Sherut Keva), which consists of paid NCOs and officers.

I am switiching from Navy Reserves to Active duty and I wanted to put as much information out there as I can to help others do the same. I always carry my rifle slung across my chest dangling, not holding it in my hands. At about the 5 mile mark of our hike, a voice behind us asked us to stop and the officer motioned for us to approach him. He got out of his car and met us a few feet later. He immediately grabbed my gun without any indication or warning and asked me what we were doing. I explained that we were hiking. He then asked me, referring to my rifle, "Any reason why you have this?" My response was a confused, "Because I can?" If an officer pulls you over for doing the speed limit and then asks why you were doing the speed limit, wouldn't you say something similar? These two questions and answers and were very cordial, but the officer didn't like my second response. At that point, the officer said, "Oh, okay" while looking away and began to try taking my rifle from me. He didn't ask for my rifle and he didn't suggest he would take it from me. He simply began unhooking it from its sling. My immediate reaction was to put my arms over the rifle and I calmly asked told not to disarm me. At that, he slammed his right foot onto my left foot, pulled his service pistol on me and told me to take my hands off the weapon, which I immediately complied with. I yelled for him to get off my foot, but instead he placed his gun to the back of my head and slammed me into the hood of his car. At this point, I remembered I had a camera on me (one of the requirements of the hiking merit badge is to document your hikes). This video is the rest of that encounter. Up to this point, I am not told why I am being stopped, why he tried to disarm me, or even that I'm under arrest. He never once explained that he was responding to a call or that I am suspected of any crime. All I knew at the time is that an officer of the law is trying to take my gun for absolutely no reason in the middle of the country in an area where people hunt all the time. We did not set out that Saturday morning to "make a point" or cause problems. Our goal was to complete a 10-mile hike and return home without incident. My son chose a route that was away from populated areas but near our home. We intentionally avoided populated areas. The arresting officer is Officer Steve Ermis and the supervisor is Sergeant Menix of the Temple Police Department. I am being represented by the National Association For Legal Gun Defense. I am switiching from Navy Reserves to Active duty and I wanted to put as much information out there as I can to help others do the same. UPDATE 19 OCTOBER 2013: Today, the prosecution was unable to prove beyond a shadow of doubt to a jury of six members that I had either resisted arrest or interfered with public duties. As such, the judge declared a mistrial and rescheduled a retrial for November 18, 2013. I want to thank my attorneys, Blue Rannefeld, Cole Combs, and Larry Kielberg for the outstanding job they did representing me this past week.
On March 16, 2013, my son and I were hiking along country roads among pastures and fields with my 15-year old son to help him earn his hiking merit badge. I always enjoy these father/son hikes because it gives me time alone with my son. As I always do when we go on these hikes and walks, I took my trusty rifle with me as there are coyotes, wild hogs, and cougars in our area. In Texas, it is legal to openly carry a rifle or shotgun as long as you do so in a manner that isn't calculated to cause alarm. In other words, you can't walk around waving your rifle at people. It has been 2 years since I have made a video, but I have recently been inspired to get back to it. I am switiching from Navy Reserves to Active duty and I wanted to put as much information out there as I can to help others do the same.
This is the link to the page where you can find the current Rate Quotas for the RC to AC program click the link at the bottom the page labled... RC to AC/FTS Quotas: http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/enlisted/community/selres/Pages/EnlistedReserveOpportunities.aspx
This is the link to where I found my ECM click on your comunity on the left (Information Dominance, Aviation, etc.) then click on your rate. Some where at the top of your page there should be a link to your "Community Overview" there you will find the phone number to contact your "ECM TECHAD". Give them a call be respectful (it is usually a master chief) and tell them that you are looking to switch from reserve to active duty. : http://www.public.navy.mil/bupers-npc/enlisted/community/Pages/default.aspx
I will most likely make another video about this process in a week or so once I know more about it. If there are any other videos you would like to see about any random question you might have just ask.

A Peabody soldier was called to active duty and at first a bank wouldn't give her any relief on her car lease. My weight hasn’t changed since yesterday. So that brings me to a total of 3.4 lbs lost so far! No matter what, I want to see this through. I want to see what 60 days of working hard can get me. Today I did The Master’s Hammer and Chisel – Max Hammer Strength. My form is starting to get a lot better on many of the exercises. I sure hope my abdominals tighten up soon.

A Peabody soldier was called to active duty and at first a bank wouldn't give her any relief on her car lease. After FOX25 brought the situation to the bank's attention, not only did they forgive the lease, Chase Bank is allowing the soldier to keep the car.
"She's been paying the lease for three years...they should give back to our soldiers a little something," Roxanne Katz, the soldier's mother.

Colonel Fenzel is currently the Army's Senior Military Fellow at the Council of Foreign Relations in New York City where he is focused on the military's development path for strategic leaders and examining the efficacy of military intervention as a foreign policy option. He is the author of the forthcoming book "No Miracles: The Failure of Soviet Decision Making in the Afghan War" (Stanford University Press, June 2016).

Warning to Active Duty Military, their Family Members & Veterans - The Pete Santilli Show - 02/09/13
A Retired Military Veteran gives warning on the Pete Santilli Show yesterday. Warning goes out to all Active Duty Military, their Family Members and Veterans. Once the fighting begins, all Active Duty Military in the US should report to their NCO (Non Commission Officer) for instructions. What you will hear on video are portions from the first hour of the Pete Santilli Show, which aired live Saturday on Feb. 9, 2013. This Veteran (who now lives in Korea) was a high military insider. He will not give out his name or what position he was in at that time, to guard his identity. I hope his voice does not give him away. He explains what is happening now and how things will most likely come down. He seems to think once the fighting begins, it will take 3-5 years to get this country going again. He said it took us years to get where we are now and it will take some time to get us out of it. He has faith we can get our country back, but the American People needs to remember who they are. They need to get some guts (he phrased it a little difference) so they can stand up for their country and take this county back. He said, we have over a million active soldiers over seas, who will abandon their post and leave them to rot, once the fighting begins at home. Many will come back home to fight for the homeland and protect their family members. Many will be left over seas to starve. (Supplies will be cut off and they will be on their own.) A Retired Military Veteran gives warning on the Pete Santilli Show yesterday. Warning goes out to all Active Duty Military, their Family Members and Veterans.
Once the fighting begins, all Active Duty Military in the US should report to their NCO (Non Commission Officer) for instructions.
What you will hear on video are portions from the first hour of the Pete Santilli Show, which aired live Saturday on Feb. 9, 2013.
This Veteran (who now lives in Korea) was a high military insider. He will not give out his name or what position he was in at that time, to guard his identity. I hope his voice does not give him away. He explains what is happening now and how things will most likely come down.
He seems to think once the fighting begins, it will take 3-5 years to get this country going again. He said it took us years to get where we are now and it will take some time to get us out of it. He has faith we can get our country back, but the American People needs to remember who they are. They need to get some guts (he phrased it a little difference) so they can stand up for their country and take this county back.
He said, we have over a million active soldiers over seas, who will abandon their post and leave them to rot, once the fighting begins at home. Many will come back home to fight for the homeland and protect their family members. Many will be left over seas to starve. (Supplies will be cut off and they will be on their own.)

Pete gives us a peek into his Facebook site, that he now only uses to spread the word and fight for Ron Paul, by sharing his blurb of the day;
"18 year olds join the military in order to bring their XBox experience to life....and some of them get blown to hamburger meat by an I.E.D. without ever engaging in combat.....and, to make us all feel better about what we've done to these kids, we call them "heroes" ---then we let them become homeless & go without adequate healthcare. Americans are a bunch of immoral fucks!!"
"Saying that our troops are "Fighting For Our Freedom" is nothing but low grade propaganda. I love our troops; but c'mon. Don't be an idiot to think that we are ~safer~ because of our foreign occupation."
In closing the show he reads from the book by USMC Maj. Gen. Smedley D. Butler. It is a heartfelt passage that brings the listener to a halting breathless moment that is charged with emotion and disdain for what has become of our troops and The Military Industrial Complex they would die for. He begs, "PLEASE WAKE UP!"
