What YouTube equipment do I use to create my videos? This is a behind the scenes look at all the gear I use for creating professional quality videos for all my YouTube channels.
Let's begin with cameras and of course the smartphone. I have an iPhone 6 that I use to take some shots every now and then. My webcam is the Logitech C920 HD webcam.
It’s one of the best webcams that you can get right now. I have a
Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS. It’s a pocket camera that shoots 1080p HD video. After that I moved on to my
Canon T3i DSLR, probably the best low budget DSLR that you can get if you're a beginner looking to start off with DSLR videos. I have 2 lenses for my T3i: the 18-55mm kit lens and the 50mm 1.4 prime lens. My main camera that I use now on all my videos is the
Panasonic GH4 Micro Four-Thirds mirrorless camera. It shoots
4K video and is an awesome camera at a great deal. I have 2 lenses for my
GH4: the 12-35mm along with the 25mm prime lens. My audio gear includes a
Blue Snowball USB microphone and an
Audio Technica ATR 2100 microphone for my voiceovers that I do for my videos. I have a Rode VideoMic Pro shotgun microphone to record my audio when I'm filming with my GH4 and T3i. I have a
Zoom H1 portable digital recorder that I sometimes use as a microphone for external recordings, and I also have a $15 Sony lavalier microphone that I use to record into that Zoom H1. I have a
Cowboy Studio 3-point lighting kit that I use for most of my lighting. That along with natural light from the sun. I have a Neewer 5-in-1 reflector that comes in handy for certain lighting situations. I also have a Neewer CN-160
LED light that mounts on top of my camera.
Moving on to tripods and monopods, the only tripod
I’ve ever used and owned is the
Magnus VT-4000 tripod with the fluid video head. It’s excellent for such a low price and works perfectly. I have a Benro monopod with the S4 head. A monopod is one of the most underrated pieces of equipment for creating YouTube videos. I have a Joby
GP3 Gorillapod that is very versatile and is able hold my DSLR. I have a
Square Jellyfish mount adapter so I can mount my smartphone on my tripod or monopod. I have a cheap slider for my camera by
Glide Gear for smooth sliding shots. I have a cheap Opteka DSLR stabilizer along with a slightly more expensive Opteka SteadyVid SV-HD stabilizer that works pretty good as a cheap steady cam. I have a basic green screen that I don't use much at all anymore. I have a Ravelli tripod dolly that I can put my tripod on and it makes it more mobile. I can wheel it around and get some cool panning shots. I have an
Amazon Basics DSLR camera bag that comes in handy when I need to pack up my camera gear and record on location. The tools I use for video editing include my adjustable height desk from Ergo Depot. I love having a standing desk. My video editing computer is a late
2012 Mac Mini with 8GB of
RAM and a
Core i7 processor. My video editing monitor is a 23"
ASUS HD 1080p
LED monitor. My video editing headphones are the Audio Technica ATH-M50's.
Finally I have a 3TB
Western Digital external hard drive that I store all my video footage on. So that wraps up my list of all my YouTube gear that I use to create my online videos.
