The peaceful, green Valley of the Boyne, just northwest of Dublin is the place to commune with the ancient soul of the Emerald Isle. This area boasts impressive historical and spiritual sights including the Hill of Tara—the evocative seat of Ireland's Celtic kings and nearby Monasterboice with its round tower and stone crosses. This is for anyone who hasn’t been to Hill of Tara and also for everyone who has!! In this video we try and give you a complete over view of the site, something which is not really possible from ground. To truly appreciate the sheer scale of Tara you need to see it from the sky and thanks to a beautiful early morning sunrise we managed to capture this amazing footage. Please share this video and drop by our FaceBook page for more aerial views of some of the wonderful heritage sites Ireland has to offer. The Hill of Tara has been a sacred site since prehistoric times, with the earliest known monument (the Mound of the Hostages) built between 2500 and 2100 BC. After that, the site remained in regular ceremonial use for thousands of years. In the Iron Age, roughly spanning the 1st through 5th centuries AD, the Hill of Tara was the ceremonial center of the Celtic high kings of Ireland. Roman artifacts dating from the 1st to 3rd centuries have been found on the site and it is said that St. Patrick visited Tara in the 430s AD after lighting his "Paschal fire" on the nearby Hill of Slane. The kings appear to have abandoned the site in the 6th century. In more recent history, Tara has been the site of important political events, indicating its continuing significance for the Irish people. In 17...
What You Can Do To Help: The help that we seek just now involves talking to people and generating a tidal-wave of support, large enough to wash-away the obstacle preventing the recovery of The Ark of The Covenant from The Hill of Tara. The obstacle in question is obtaining a "license to dig" from the Irish Minister for Heritage, who is called Heather Humphreys, who has the authority to be able to grant me the license, without which I cannot dig a small area of flat grass, measuring 2m x 2m, at Tara. Tara is a protected National Heritage site and one cannot move a blade of grass without a license from the minister. What I would like each of you to do is to please tell as many people as possible about the fact that The Ark of The Covenant is at the Hill of Torah - Tara i...

The first travel vlog of the witch wanderess! I wandered around two sacred sites in Ireland. It is such a long video. Very personal and completely authentic. I really hope you enjoy watching!
At the summit of the hill, to the north of the ridge, is an oval Iron Age hilltop enclosure, measuring 318 metres (1,043 ft) north-south by 264 metres (866 ft) east-west and enclosed by an internal ditch and external bank, known as Ráith na Ríogh (the Fort of the Kings, also known as the Royal Enclosure). The most prominent earthworks within are the two linked enclosures, a bivallate (double-ditched) ring fort and a bivallate ring barrow known as Teach Chormaic (Cormac's House) and the Forradh or Royal Seat. In the middle of the Forradh is a standing stone, which is believed to be the Lia Fáil (Stone of Destiny) at which the High Kings were crowned. According to legend, the stone would scream if a series of challenges were met by the would-be king. At his touch the stone would let out a sc...

Inroads Ireland tour designer Phil Ryan recounts Irish folk tales he learned while growing up in Ireland. Here's a quick tale of how St. Patrick came to Ireland and his visit to the Hill of Tara. It was here that he overcame the power of the druids and earned the respect of the High King of Ireland.

Jonny Enoch travels across Ireland and England to ask experts about the origin of the druids, and who built the great megalithic henges? Our journey begins in Ireland by following David Halpin, a writer and researcher for Ancient Origins magazine, into the hills of Wicklow to see Castleruddery circle. Then we met up with Julie, a British historian and megalithic expert, at Stonehenge on the Salisbury plain in Amesbury, England, where we discussed the druids, neolithic monuments around the UK and more. Jonny then examined druidic artifacts found at the ring of Kerry. While driving around, we also discovered a hidden stone circle in a nearby farmer's field. Other highlights include an enlightening conversation with Thomas Coyne, a Celtic lore and Ogham expert, at the Poulnabrone burial tomb...
On St. Patrick's Day this year, Ahonu & Aingeal Rose were invited to make a presentation to the Spiritual Awareness Community (SAC) of the Cascades in Bend, Oregon. The presentation was entitled "The Sacred Sites of Ireland" and took the form of a video tour of Ireland's most sacred places. Ahonu and Aingeal Rose narrated their personal experiences of each sacred place along with some history and the sites significance. Attendees had the virtual experience of the megalithic sites of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth - each 2,000 older than the pyramids of Egypt! They visited Glendalough in the Garden of Ireland, and the famous Hill of Tara and Uisneach where the kings of old were crowned. They saw holy wells and ancient hills that still carry the original mystical and healing energies. Along ...
