Live in Concert (Freda Payne album)

Live in Concert is a recording of a live performance that Payne made in Los Angeles on November 6, 1993. It is actually an edited version of the live album An Evening With Freda Payne: Live in Concert, although six songs are longer on this album.. In this performance, Payne performs a variety of songs that were an important part in her career, particularly tracks 5 through 9. Tracks 15 through 18 is a tribute to the many female jazz singers of the 1930s and 1940s. The final track is a medley of two songs, both of which were not featured on An Evening With Freda Payne. Inside the album cover is an essay by Freda on her life and career and life in general and her special thank-yous.

Live in Concert 2006

Live in Concert 2006 is a live album by Barbra Streisand which was recorded during her record setting 2006 US tour known as Streisand: The Tour. The double album contains songs recorded at different shows and venues including New York City's Madison Square Garden and Washington DC's Verizon Center. Three songs Streisand performed live on the tour with Il Divo are featured on the album.

The album peaked at number 7 on the Billboard 200 on May 26, 2007 (62,000 copies).

Nirvana is an album by jazz flautist Herbie Mann with Bill Evans's Trio featuring Chuck Israels and Paul Motian, released in 1964 on the Atlantic label and featuring performances recorded in 1961 and 1962.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Ken Dryden states "Mann, who has changed his style numerous times throughout his long career, is heard exclusively in a straight-ahead and bop context on this pair of studio dates. Evans, who studied flute through his college years, rarely recorded with a flutist though he was fond of the instrument... Fans of either Herbie Mann or Bill Evans will want to acquire this enjoyable CD".

Nirvana (Buddhism)

Nirvana (Sanskrit, also nirvāṇa; Pali: nibbana, nibbāna ) is the earliest and most common term used to describe the goal of the Buddhist path. The term is ambiguous, and has several meanings. The literal meaning is "blowing out" or "quenching."

Within the Buddhist tradition, this term has commonly been interpreted as the extinction of the "three fires", or "three poisons", passion, (raga), aversion (dvesha) and ignorance (moha or avidyā). When these fires are extinguished, release from the cycle of rebirth (saṃsāra) is attained.

In time, with the development of Buddhist doctrine, other interpretations were given, such as the absence of the weaving (vana) of activity of the mind, the elimination of desire, and escape from the woods, cq. the five skandhas or aggregates.

Buddhist tradition distinguishes between nirvana in this lifetime and nirvana after death. In "nirvana-in-this-lifetime" physical life continues, but with a state of mind that is free from negative mental states, peaceful, happy, and non-reactive. With "nirvana-after-death", paranirvana, the last remains of physical life vanish, and no further rebirth takes place.

Live (James Taylor album)

Live is singer-songwriter James Taylor's first live album. Released in 1993, this double CD presents selections from 14 shows during a November 1992 tour. Live peaked at number 20 on Billboard magazine's Billboard 200. It has sold over one million copies and is certified 2x platinum.

A single-album version of highlights of this double album called Best Live was also released. There are two different versions of this album. A 17 track version was released in 1993. A shorter 12 track version was released on June 21, 1994.

Catch 22 Live

Live! is Catch 22's first full-length live release, although fan-recorded live tracks were bonus features on several previous albums. Roughly a third of the album is devoted to Keasbey Nights, another third to Alone in a Crowd, and the remainder to Dinosaur Sounds. A bonus DVD includes footage from the concert, as well as a variety of extras. However, former frontman Tomas Kalnoky is conspicuously absent from the footage of the band's early days.
